Director Lee Jae-kyoo looked mostly for unknowns when casting the students in All of Us Are Dead, hoping that a lack of familiarity would make the zombie drama feel more real for audiences watching at home. That being said, he grounded the expansive ensemble with some established K-drama actors viewers may recognize from other projects. Here’s where you may have seen some of the All of Us Are Dead‘s young cast members before…
Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san
One of the many scene-stealers in the All of Us Are Dead cast is Yoon Chan-young, who plays the extremely nimble Lee Cheong-san. Yoon is one of the young members of this cast who is already an established performer, having worked as a child actor since 2013. The now 20-year-old has an extensive filmography that ranges from 2019’s coming-of-age drama Everything and Nothing to 2014’s Pluto Squad, a show about child detectives.

In the early 2000s, religious music experienced a moment of mainstream success. Mary Mary’s debut album Thankful went platinum, and for a time, contemporary gospel was a pop culture touchpoint. The crossover appeal was obvious. R&b’s ebullient production grafted seamlessly onto gospel’s enduring commitment to raw talent. Its vocal tropes remain a tool of modern popular music, a means of transposing the divine onto worldly concerns. R&b singer Jazmine Sullivan, who came up singing in Philadelphia choirs, handles the desires of the flesh with godly reverence.

In “Godmothered,” a young fairy-godmother-in-training travels to the modern human world to save her fairy-tale existence. If that plot reminds you of “Enchanted,” then that’s clearly what the folks at Disney+ had in mind, down to the casting of Isla Fisher; Fisher is a talented actress in her own right, but at least as far back as “Nocturnal Animals,” she also seems to be in on the joke that Hollywood thinks of her as The Other Amy Adams.
For the most part, “Godmothered” is a mixed-bag of clever comedy and banal kid-movie clichés, but director Sharon Maguire (“Bridget Jones’ Baby”) and writers Kari Granlund (2019’s “Lady and the Tramp”) and Melissa Stack (“The Other Woman”) craft an ending that’s so emotionally and intellectually satisfying that it’s easy to forgive the film’s less magical attributes.

There’s no lack of talent on display in Disney+’s latest original feature “Godmothered,” a film built around the charming duo of Isla Fisher and Jillian Bell (already solid casting) that also has the space to include gems like Jane Curtin and June Squibb in roles so supporting that one of them spends most of her screen time cosplaying as the face of a clock. Other supporting roles are kitted out by talented kiddos like Jillian Shea Spaeder and Willa Skye or consistent comedic stars like Utkarsh Ambudkar and Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and the whole thing was cooked up by rising screenwriters Melissa Stack (the underappreciated “The Other Woman”) and Kari Granlund. Even better, it’s all directed by Sharon Maguire, the genius behind the first (and best) “Bridget Jones” film.

John Prine loved Christmas. When he recorded what would be his final studio album, 2018’s The Tree of Forgiveness, he dragged a lit-up Christmas tree that he kept in his office year-round to the recording studio in the middle of July. “I don’t like to see Christmas trees torn down,” he said. When he took his family to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City years ago, Prine “cried when Santa came out,” his wife recalled in 2016. “The colors, the lights, the idea of family, togetherness, bestowing gifts. It means a lot to him.

In Private Life, Kathryn Hahn and Paul Giamatti portray a middle-aged couple struggling with infertility. The film paints a funny but unflinching portrait of the efforts to have a child, from painful IVF injections, to anxious adoption interviews, to the humbling search for an egg donor. Throughout the journey, they remain a unit. With their on-screen chemistry fully intact in the mahogany and red-velvet environs of New York’s NoMad Hotel, Hahn and Giamatti greet each other with a long embrace. They immediately fall into a couple’s rhythm of completing one another’s sentences when talking about their collaboration with writer-director Tamara Jenkins.
What attracted you to this film?
Paul Giamatti: I have known Tamara for a long time, and we had tried to work on something before and that didn’t work out. I wanted to work with her. Clearly, someone else didn’t work out, so she came to me.

The Romanoffs, however — Matthew Weiner’s new anthology series about people who believe they’re descended from Russian royalty — is a special case in a couple of ways. First, Weiner convinced Amazon to release one episode a week (except for this premiere week, which will feature two: “The Violet Hour” and “The Royal We”). Second, while the new show’s problems are many — starting with early installments...

One of the themes of Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale” is “Gilead is within you” and you can’t ever escape it. That seems to be the case for Samira Wiley’s Moira in Episode 3, who decides to go by Ruby again — the name she took on while being forced to work at a brothel in the dystopian society that was once the United States.
“I think that that, specifically that episode, is highlighting the other part of freedom that I was talking about, in terms of the loneliness and in that episode she definitely wants to connect with someone else,” Wiley told TheWrap in a recent interview. “But then she realizes that this connection is with a stranger and she doesn’t know if she feels comfortable enough to go there with her and be open with who she is, so that’s why she reverts to being Ruby.”
In Wednesday’s installment, titled “Baggage,” Wiley’s character is seen living in Canada with her best friend June’s (Elisabeth Moss) husband Luke (O-t Fagbenle). While the two are safe and trying to lead a normal life after escaping to the Great White North, it’s easier said than done. And when Moira goes out to a club one night and has a sexual encounter with a woman, when her potential new love interest asks for her name to stay in touch she respond with the moniker she used while forced to entertain the elite men of Gilead at Jezebels.

So French and horny that it makes Pepe Le Pew seem as chaste as Bresson’s country priest, The Other Woman is an embarrassing and rather abject attempt by the otherwise talented Daniel Auteuil to direct a sexy rom-com for the 50-and-over set.
The actor, who plays the lead alongside Sandrine Kiberlain, Adriana Ugarte and, of course, Gerard Depardieu, has a hard time wringing a single laugh from this story of a married man lusting after his best buddy’s beautiful and significantly younger girlfriend during an extended dinner party. At the start of April, a spattering of American and French journalists gathered, Champagne in hand, at the home of French consul general to Los Angeles Christophe Lemoine for the lineup announcement of the 22nd City of Lights, City of Angels film festival, which kicks off tonight with Eric Barbier’s Romain Gary biopic “Promise at Dawn.” It was the perfect setting to announce a film about the French writer, a former Los Angeles consul general himself, who managed to keep one foot in his native land and another in Hollywood, through both his diplomatic appointment and his marriage to Jean Seberg. Colcoa has been striving to strike a similar balance for the past two decades.
Initially commissioned as the flagship project of the Franco-American Cultural Fund — a joint project among the MPAA, DGA, WGA and France’s Sacem — Colcoa provides a week’s worth of French film premieres in the middle of L.

Audiences may already be looking ahead to Avengers: Infinity War, but this weekend could feature an interesting battle among the top three. While we're expecting A Quiet Place to return to the weekend's #1 spot, the race could be a little closer should Rampage hold on better than expected or if Amy Schumer's new comedy I Feel Pretty outperforms expectations. The weekend also sees the release of Fox Searchlight's Super Troopers 2 and Lionsgate's release of Traffik into a moderate number of locations. Beginning with A Quiet Place, the horror/thriller has already brought in nearly $110 million and is poised to top recent horror hits Split and The Conjuring. With Paramount adding another 219 locations for a total of 3,808 theaters, we're anticipating a 36% drop and a three-day right around $21 million. Come the end of the weekend the film should top $130 million domestically. Look for Dwayne Johnson's Rampage to...

So, is she or isn't she? Cameron Diaz has been noticeably absent from the Hollywood spotlight for months, leading many fans to wonder if she has officially retired from acting. Interestingly, Cam's friend Selma Blair seemed to shed some light on the actress' current work situation during a new interview — but then quickly retracted her comments just hours later. While speaking to Metro News UK on Sunday, March 11, Selma, 45, said Cameron, also 45, has chosen to step away from acting to instead focus on starting a family with her husband, Benji Madden. "I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about [our 2002 film The Sweetest Thing]. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like, 'I’m done,'" Selma shared. Cameron, Selma, and Christina Applegate in The Sweetest Thing. (Photo Credit: R/R) "I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films.
