- TriviaJust before opening credits the camera pans down to a distant view of Manhattan. Just right of the World Trade Center is a fairly tall, oddly rounded skyscraper. That is the never-built Hotel Attraction, commissioned in 1908 and designed by Antoni Gaudi. Few people knew it had even been considered until certain documents were released in the 1950s.
- GoofsWith the types of difference between the two universes, it would be nearly impossible to keep events in synch down to the personal lives of the main characters, yet this is exactly what is seen where people have relatively the same jobs, live in the same place, and have the same family members. Yet in the broader universe there are such major changes as President Kennedy never being assassinated (presumably meaning no President Johnson and a radically different Vietnam War), the 9/11 attacks partially averted, as well as major cities destroyed by anomalies and thousands dead who were still living in the other universe. Not to mention whatever different events happened in centuries past; with all this, the two universes would have diverged so much that there would be literally no chance of exact copies of people existing on both sides.
- Quotes
Senator Walter "Walternate" Bishop: They may look like us, but don't be fooled, Olivia. They are monsters in our skin.
- Crazy creditsThis episode features an opening title sequence that has been changed from predominantly blue colouring to predominantly red to reflect the fact that the episode is set in the alternate universe. The phrase "Parallel Universes" has been replaced with "First People".

On the Other Side
Peter goes with the The Secretary to the other side. Olivia and Walter are worried since they have been advised by the Observer that Peter should never go to the parallel universe; otherwise he would be responsible for the end of the world. The Fringe Division looks for Nina Sharp and they work together with the Massive Dynamic. Walter explains Olivia that she can open a breach to the parallel universe; however she needs the support of Nick Lane, Sally Clark and James Heath that have been also submitted to Cortexiphan to increase her power. They succeed to cross but stumble upon the Fringe Division. Nick, Sally and James die and Walter is shot and goes to a hospital. Olivia hides but William Bell meets her, however can she trust him?
"Over There: Part 1" is one of the best episodes of "Fringe". Peter is lured by Walternte and is helping to fix the doomsday machine. The Fringe Division from the parallel universe is physically identical to theirs pairs. But do they have the same character? Will Olivia convince Peter to return to her world with her? My vote is nine.
