The tray art for Insane Clown Posse's album "Bizaar" (2000) depicted Twiztid in 19th century period Western costumes, presumably as their characters Raw Stank and Dusty Poot.
Esham claims that he was offered the role that Awesome Dre plays in the film, and turned it down because he did not trust the safety of the gun effects, citing the on-set death of The Crow (1994) actor Brandon Lee.
Violent J cited, as inspiration for writing the screenplay, Blazing Saddles (1974), a similarly anachronistic, anarchical Western comedy spoof, Bugs Bunny cartoons, which featured similar slapstick, and reality bending moments, and Sergio Leone's Man with No Name Trilogy.
Mike E. Clark performs the rap lyrics in the theme song. Clark isn't a rapper, but has occasionally rapped on Insane Clown Posse recordings, such as "Santa Killas" or as a member of the one-off group Golden Goldies on their unreleased 1995 only album "Gimmie Dem Fuckin' Nuggets Bitch, Or I'll Punch Your Fuckin' Face".
