Before Luke Mitchell made a home on Chicago Med this season, the ubiquitous Australian actor appeared on many, many TV shows, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Blindspot, The Code, Legacies and Big Sky.
But it’s Mitchell’s breakout Stateside role on The CW’s The Tomorrow People, where he played the superpowered group’s leader John Young, that stands out for the actor. When asked which of his past characters he would like to revisit, Mitchell is quick to single out the short-lived series, which aired during the 2013-14 TV season.

NBC has given a series order to “Happy’s Place,” the Reba McEntire-led pilot the network ordered in January, and greenlit “Lopez vs. Lopez” for Season 3. The multi-cam comedy will debut during the 2024-2024 broadcast season.
“Happy’s Place” follows Bobbie (Reba McEntire), who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) she never knew she had. The cast also includes Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn. Universal Television is the studio.
With Kevin Abbott writing the series and executive producing alongside Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Julie Abbott and McEntire, “Happy’s Place” reunites the team who produced “Reba” for six seasons from 2001 to 2007. So we saw the 1st project of the Las Vegas Sphere, which is ‘Postcard from Earth’ directed and filmed by Darren Aronofsky on the Big Sky huge format 316MP18K camera. Defining it as an ‘IMAX on steroids’ would be an understatement.
Behind the scenes of Postcard from Earth. The Big Sky camera Sphere=IMAX on steroids
As fans of the huge canvas (=IMAX!), one of the first things we did when staying in Vegas was to go see the Sphere. YMCinema was among the first that write about this very special medium. Before waiting for a movie on it, we defined it as IMAX on steroids. However, after watching Darren Aronofsky’s Postcard from Earth, we can conclude that this definition is an understatement of this whole insane experience. The Sphere is not just a giant screen, but much more than that. Proportionally, it’s X20 the size of the largest IMAX.

If you've been wondering when we'll meet the mysterious, potentially deadly old brother of our favorite reward-seeker, Colter Shaw, you are in Big-time luck.
News dropped officially via Justin Hartley's Ig page that Jensen Ackles -- yes, That Jensen Ackles -- would be joining Tracker as Russell Shaw. And the internet is going Wild.
Why are they going crazy, exactly? Because Justin Hartley and Jensen Ackles teaming up in an action-adventure series as brothers is just about the most perfect casting I've seen in a while.
And it goes far beyond the fact that they could actually pass for long-lost siblings.
Colter's journey throughout Tracker Season 1 has taken him across the United States, where he's helped countless people track down missing loved ones and even those who weren't necessarily looking to be found.
But while he's been racing around, saving the day and collecting his paychecks, he hasn't been able to outrun his past.

‘Succession’ has gone out with one final bang: The HBO drama won two Writers Guild of America Awards on Sunday night — the most of any series — for best drama series and also for best drama episode. Creator Jesse Armstrong was on hand in New York to accept the award, while several of the show’s writers were also in LA to accept the honor.
This reps the final major awards show where “Succession” (which ended its run last May) was still eligible. Besides best drama, the show also won the episodic drama prize, for the episode “Living+,” written by Georgia Pritchett and Will Arbery.
The WGA Awards recognized the best of 2023’s television and film via its annual event held this year at the Hollywood Palladium for the West Coast edition and at New York’s Edison Ballroom for the East Coast ceremony.

Throughout their messy and prolonged courtship, "Bones" couple Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) played their fair share of romantic musical chairs. They both tested the waters of a workplace relationship fairly early on in the show's run, with Brennan hopping into bed with Booth's FBI colleague Tim "Sully" Sullivan (Eddie McClintock) -- and causing a bit of a ruckus among Fox's censors -- in season 2. This was around the same time that Booth restarted his own amorous association with the then-newly-appointed boss of the Jeffersonian Institute's forensic division, Camille "Cam" Saroyan (Tamara Taylor).

Check back for latest … The fall TV season was upended by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but the beat goes on, though heavy with reality and other unscripted fare like game shows. As Hollywood begins to recover from the dual labor actions, here again is Deadline’s annual list of premiere dates for new and returning TV series.
The roster covers hundreds broadcast, cable and streaming programs debuting through 2023. It includes series and season debuts, shows returning from hiatus and some one-offs such as live sports and awards specials but not movies. The list includes shows that had been set for the fall season but are in limbo for now. Note that older 2023 premiere dates are listed at the bottom.

Exclusive: Despite a difficult year for broadcast television, ABC can look back with confidence as it kicked off the year with some strong scripted content and was buoyed through a rocky fall season primarily by unscripted content.
The broadcast network managed to hold strong throughout the entire year with the return of series including The Rookie and American Idol, as well as the introduction of new favorites like Will Trent and The Golden Bachelor.
“ABC’s success this season demonstrates the ongoing vitality of the linear network offering and its invaluable role in delivering content to audiences across platforms,” Debra OConnell, president, Networks and TV Business Operations, Disney Entertainment Television said in statement to Deadline. “It’s been a tremendous year for the network and we’re looking forward to building on this success in the months ahead.”

Exclusive: Todd Eisner, a 30-year veteran talent agent, has resigned from A3 Artists Agency, where he was a Senior Agent in the Los Angeles talent department for almost seven years, to join the Paradigm Talent Agency.
“Paradigm has long admired Todd as an industry veteran who brings an exceptional work ethic and passion for his clients to everything he does,” the agency’s Partner Jim Dempsey said in a statement to Deadline. “With the same artist-first approach, Todd will be an excellent addition to our team of entrepreneurial representatives.”
Over the past year, Paradigm has been staffing up with the hires of Chris Till and Neil A. Cohen and Varun Monga, and internal promotions including elevating 14 agents to Partner.

Dark Sky Films' Laced Coming to VOD + Digital Platform January 12: "Laced is a modern thriller/drama in the vein of Hitchcockian classics like Dial M for Murder and Rear Window. Set in a single location, the piece explores the claustrophobic nature of young love strung with toxicity and lies, and the cyclical nature of violence.
Official Film Synopsis:In a remote cabin on the evening of a record-breaking blizzard, a young woman plots to poison her abusive husband in order to end their toxic relationship once and for all. When the poison fails to kill him, she not only has to quickly concoct a backup plan, but also contend with her husband’s increasing suspicion that his intensifying illness isn’t wholly accidental. And with the unexpected arrival of her brother, her carefully crafted scheme threatens to spiral ever further out of control. Now trapped together as the snow piles up,...

The more things change, the more things stay the same.
That may as well be the motto for the five broadcast networks heading into the 2023-24 season as their corporate parents are increasingly focused on cutting costs, restructurings and streaming. To that end, three of the five networks have made leadership changes in the past year.
The biggest change comes at The CW, which is now majority controlled by Nexstar with former Pop topper Brad Schwartz now tasked with making the younger-skewing network profitable for the first time following the unexpected departure of TV’s longest-tenured president, Mark Pedowitz. Over at CBS, Kelly Kahl and his top lieutenant Thom Sherman and their sizable paydays were bounced in favor of former head of current Amy Reisenbach. Over at Fox, Charlie Collier — who led the network following the sale of its studio counterpart — bailed for Roku with the broadcaster tapping unscripted chief...

Mitchell will play a new staff member at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center in the new season of Chicago Med, TVLine reports. Dr. Mitch Ripley is an ER physician with a past connection to Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), the hospital’s head of psychiatry. He comes from a troubled background, which led him to cross paths with Dr. Charles when he was growing up.
The addition of Mitchell to the Chicago Med cast comes after several high-profile exits in season 8, including the departures of Brian Tee, who played Dr. Ethan Choi, and Nick Gehlfuss, who played Dr. Will Halstead. Both had been with the show since its first season.

Chicago Med has tapped Blindspot vet Luke Mitchell to join its hospital staff, our sister site Deadline reports.
