A Hero's Death
Anonnamus25 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Gabriel died like Bellamy should have. If you're going to kill off a beloved original character, send him off with fanfare. Don't turn him into a brainwashed cult member then have his best friend shoot him for no reason. Anyway, yes. I'm still bitter.

This episode was actually pretty good, but I am finding it hard to enjoy it since I have followed from the very beginning. Suddenly our cast has somehow made it back to the bunker on earth, where everything is green and pretty and like they never left. What? Wasn't earth destroyed and unlivable? That's why they were in cryo in space, waiting for the planet to become livable again...which it never did. Until the writers ran out of ideas and decided to just hope the viewers forgot that they actually left earth for a reason. Whatever. I liked the bunker and had a slight hope that maybe they could finally rebuild their lives and start over being better. Except for Clarke. Someone needs to kill her.

She admits that she kills Bellamy, and I waited for fireworks. I waited for a well-deserved punch in the face. Hair pulling, stabbing, anything. Instead, Octavia and Echo HUG Clarke. They have a bonding moment, as nothing brings people together more than one person killing another's brother and boyfriend. Then he is never mentioned again, except by Murphy in a bittersweet recollection of a memory. Okay, then. I don't know if the actor pissed Rothenberg off or something, but man does he deserve better. Clarke then gets over her self-pity long enough to yet again make a rash decision for the entire group and destroys their only way back to Sanctum. I truly hope she ends up alone.

When the portal opens and the three ladies realize someone is there, common sense would tell you to swing that sword around as hard as you can. Take the gun and shoot into the portal. I mean, we all know at this point that the invisible guys aren't the good guys. Doesn't even matter if they're good guys. Apparently we just shoot anyone now. Except for Sheidheda. And Cadogan. Instead, announce loudly that you realize someone is here for Madi and send someone to go look for Madi. Don't worry about the invisible people, maybe they didn't hear you loudly announce that someone was going to search for Madi. Surely the bad guys won't follow. That's just impolite. Even more impolite would be shooting behind you randomly just in case someone was actually following you. You know, since you know they can be invisible.

Gabriel was a good guy and his death was sad, especially since he was actually an asset to their people and he cared about others before himself. Hope and Jordan are kind of cute together, but I honestly don't even care if they are alive or not. It is still disturbing to realize that most of the group is only a few months older from the beginning of the season, but supposedly three of them are 10 years older. No one even tried to make them look any older. Not a single grey hair to be found. It's probably just bothering me because I'm jealous. Madi shows true maturity and acts just like Clarke and stabs herself to try to save everyone by going back to Sanctum. Considering that the magic knife seems to be left behind after each time it's used, it seems fairly logical that everyone else should stab themselves and get back to Sanctum too. Hopefully someone will try to maybe cut themselves on a finger or something to see if maybe they don't need to be quite so overdramatic with the usage of the knife.

Cliffhanger at the end! I'd like to say I can't wait to watch the next episode, but it will be more of the same. Clarke will piss me off. Murphy will continue to step up. Emori will continue to just be there. Raven will continue to be a badass. Hopefully Echo will return to her old self and kick the hell out of anyone in her way. I am intrigued to see if it's possible for anyone to ever actually stop fighting.

Understand the hate but it's gone too far
felixfelicis_11 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I get that people are upset with the way things are ending with the 100. Bellamy's death was completely underwhelming and unnecessary but what's done is done and there is no point dwelling on it and downvoting this episode bc of it. There are two episodes left and this just felt like a filler episode to me which kinda gets on my nerves. I liked seeing them on Earth again but it wore out its welcome pretty quickly, especially the fact that most of the characters just about brush off Bellamy's death which really irks me. Most of the episode really didn't catch my attention as well as it should've and I hate to see Gabriel go, but at least he got a better death scene than Bellamy. All in all, a pretty boring episode at a time where they should be picking up. Doesn't deserve the hate (all the 1s) it's getting but definitely one of the weakest episodes of the season, if not series. But even at its worst the 100 is still a 6/10 for me.

2 episodes left and I was honestly expecting much more from this episode. Some things do not make any sense. They all acting so stupid like they just met. I am expecting huge twists and some incredible outcomes for the last 2 episodes otherwise it seems like GOT all over again.

Clarke is The 100's answer to Michael from Lost, only her catch phrase is "Madi" instead of "Walt".

It's like the writers are on a mission to make the final episodes of the show as annoying as possible.

Warning: Spoilers
The plot just isn't believable anymore. Sheidheda has some incredibly thick plotarmour, and Bill just trusts him for no good reason at all

Seriously, I expected more from the final season. This is nothing more than painfully average

SERIOUSLY
eduusito16 September 2020
I seriously hate people who rates episodes when they're not even released yet. And mostly, I hate people who rates this episode with bad ratings because their beloved Bellamy isn't going to appear in the upcoming episodes. I really hate that. Right now, this episode, without even getting released, it has 6.8/10, and probably, because of these people, it's going to have a lower rating because Bell isn't in the show anymore. People don't think anymore with their own brains.

Meh

Warning: Spoilers
Not the best writing I've seen and certainly the actor who plays Maddie is awful, maybe its how she is written I guess. When she went through the vent at the end, I think nearly everyones peripheral would have spotted her sneaking out even Stevie Wonder would have seen her.

Another poor splay of writing, why didn't they just lock up the cage so when someone teleports into Earth, they can't go anywhere cos its locked. Also Sheidheda goes after Maddie after taking off his helmet and leaving it behind with also those things you eat to teleport you back you back.

Taking the positives from this episode, glad to see them back on Earth but would rather have seen it again earlier in the season.

Another thing that is grinding my gears about this season is that there's this 'last war' but we don't even know who the enemy is and there's two episodes to go. I never really liked the direction the show was going as soon as they left Earth. They should have ended it way before where they find a new habitable planet and make peace and build a new world.

Lastly Bellamy's death is F ing hilariously written, could dip into the comedy genre its written that bad. Really didn't need to shoot him, rather the guards around or even take him with you. And also, why did no one just kill sheidheda instead of keeping him locked up, he isn't an asset to anyone?

Almost unwatchable
ralucapuiu-8110118 September 2020
This was really hard to watch. I don't get it, I thought Jason would use the little time he has left wisely, but boy, I was wrong. This is not just about Bellamy , the overall episode seemed very disconnected and an overall waste of time. All those reunion moments that were probably meant to spark some emotions with the viewers, just rang hollow to me. Nobody cares really, at this point in the game nearing the end of the season, it's not time for another filler episode. It's hard for me to comprehend some of the 10/10 reviews from some of the people here. Have we been watching the same episode? How can you possibly think this episode deserves a 10/10? We are rating this episode, not the whole show, otherwise my score would also be higher as the 100 had its glory moments but it just looks like they are all gone.

To make things worse, Clarke is getting more annoying and overbearing with every scene, I've gotten to the point where I'm almost rooting for Madi to die already just to see her suffer in her selfishness.

I was also expecting to see some genuine mourning of Bellamy's death, that would have given him a fraction of the recognition he deserves, instead most characters just seem to get over it in a few seconds time, and the ones that don't just don't seem very genuine, there's a hollow feel about their reactions. Just the fact that they accept his death so easily, as something necessary, seems off to me.

Clarke's justification of killing Bellamy was laughable "I tried everything!" What exactly did you try Clarke? "I aimed for the heart" Also, where is the book you killed him for? "Oops, I left it behind anyway". Somehow nobody thought to ask about the book.

This being said, good effort from the actors to keep things together and try to make this still look like a good show. Good acting, bad writing, it is the writing that I'm rating here essentially. Such a shame, the actors deserve better. Still hoping for a miracle in the last to episodes to save this dying show!

Warning: Spoilers
This is in no way a bad episode, and it certainly doesn't deserve a 6. if Bellamy hadn't died the way he did, this episode would have got an 8 at least but it seems some people are still not over his death. I get it, he died in the most unreasonable way possible but you guys need to move on just like the characters accepted his death and move on. Moreover, it has been done before and the reason why Echo and Octavia for instance just forgave Clarke is that Bellamy's was presumed dead before and they mourned him and then he showed but not as he used to be and he then died again Soo, you see, it kinda make sense that they are not perturbed as they were the first time. Just move on 'cause there's just two episodes left and this show wasn't only about Bellamy so let it go.

Clarke is a bit annoying as usual, I got a mixed feeling about Gabriel's death but I think it's about time considering his character has lived for hundreds of years. i like the fact that they returned to Earth, it kinda reminds me when this show was at its best.

It's going worst
moboreview17 September 2020
I thought that the ending of 7x13 was the worst thing they could do but i was wrong. The reactions of the other charachters is even worse. When a major charachter dies, something change. In the plot, in the story. Nothing has changed. 2 minutes and it's like it never happened. Very, very bad.

Love everything about this episode the slow remosreful music and how for a moment it feels like they can finally catch their breath and then BAM Sheidheda. All the characters made smart choices and Gabirel's death was sad and satisying!

Worst writing I've ever seen
Splarke2217 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Bellamy's actual death scene in 7x13 was horrendous writing, some of the worst in television history. But, the aftermath of his death is just as terrible. Clarke says that she didn't have a choice in killing Bellamy, saying "I tried everything, I promise." Well, that's a lie. We see everyone, including Octavia & Echo, immediately accept the fact that Bellamy HAD TO die. No questions asked. Octavia barely seems phased by the death of her big brother, who helped raise her and is a huge reason for her being alive up until this point. She just tears up a little and hugs her brother's murderer. Later we see her struggling to cope with seeing the fighting pits again, when she should be struggling to cope with Bell's death, just next level spiteful writing. Echo, whose entire character arc this season was practically just killing any and everyone who stood in the way of her reuniting with Bellamy, tells Clarke that Bellamy "found meaning in Cadogan and that meaning killed him, not you." It's an absolute slap in the face to all fans of this show. You didn't even have to like Bellamy to understand how terrible the writing in these past two episodes has been. Murphy even has a line that makes no sense and seems to have been added simply to spite Bellamy, saying he watched Bellamy manipulate Raven every day on the arc for 6 years. What a joke. Every character has acted extremely out of character this season & especially in 7x13 & 7x14.

Gabriel's senseless death was another absolute joke in this episode. We see a white villain who should've been long dead just gut a minority character to death. Then as Gabriel is bleeding out on the ground, Clarke and most of the others just casually talked about Madi and barely even acknowledged Gabriel until he was on his last breaths.

The episode ends with Murphy and Emori possibly getting the same deaths as Jaime and Cersei in Game of Thrones Season 8, with them dying to a collapsed ceiling. The preview for 7x15 shows Murphy likely survives it, but won't be able to save Emori. Another terrible death scene for a long time character on the show, sigh.

Jason Rothenberg might've thought he got the last laugh on Bob and their behind the scenes differences with the character assassination of Bellamy Blake in S7.. but he instead ruined the integrity of his show and ensured he'll struggle immensely to ever book another gig after the conclusion of The 100. Congrats Jason, your show's lasting legacy will be the fact it had the worst final season in television history, even worse than Game of Thrones. Who's laughing now?

You people are pathetic.
lukedgar17 September 2020
It's honestly disgusting how some people are giving this episode a rating of 1 out of 10 just because of Bellamy's death. How is this fair when there is great acting, music, directing and cinematography if you disagree with the plot simply give the episode a fair review or don't give one at all.

Characters destroyed
gisele_de-lima17 September 2020
This show unfortunately chose to go on a path where they ruined all the characters. Not one this season feels like the characters we all knew in the past seasons.

Sad to see this happen to what used to be a good show.

Reunions
acohen20317 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Great episode. So many emotional reunions that needed to happen. Can't wait for the last two eps! For the bellarke peeps, stop projecting a romantic relationship that wasn't there. Clark and Bellamy were two people who were defined by the actions they took to protect the ones they love. In that case, his death is very fitting thematically.

Obviously rewritten several times and last minute
markwha23 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's a true tragedy that great acting can't make up for poor/rushed writing because we have a lot of both in this episode. It's getting a bit amusing to read through the reviews and watch how there are a handful of glaringly positive ones where the users are blaming some fans attachment to Bellamy for the negatives. While the loss of a lead character will always cause some unrealistically negative ratings by some viewers, that is not even remotely the case here, and the flow of this episode clearly shows this.

It's not just the death that has people writing scathing reviews of the last couple epeisodes, but rather the rushed, anti-climactic and off beat way that it's been done. This problem extends into this episode in the characters reactions to his death. Clarke is immediately forgiven by almost everyone, there are only a few brief scenes in which characters take a lent to reflect on what's happened and then it's right back to the main story arc. This is incredibly off beat, off tempo, wrong pace and just feels like it was forced in last minute. The acting on the other hand is superb, there's no question as out that.

All in all, it's glaringly obvious that there were some last minute changes made and the writers were forced to make some changes that just shouldn't have been done. (Earlier I stayed there was some bad writing, but maybe Planning would have been a better term). It's unfortunate because this is really just about to end things on a bad note, which is not the way you want to wrap up a show that's been 7 years running.

Unworthy forgiveness
Trigedasleng18 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was really good. The only flaw - and the reason I give it 9/10 instead of top rate - was the others reaction towards Clarke. Especially when they forgave her for killing Bellamy but also for destroying the helmet.

Clarke has been evil from the beginning and she treats Madi like a slave. She has no problem deciding and making decisions on other people's lives - regardless of other people's wishes. They shouldn't have forgiven her.

Madi finally broke free from Clarke. Next episode, hopefully mostly on Bardo, can be really good. If Madi helps Cadogan with the stone and the code we might get to see what it's all about. I've been quite right in my predictions about the plot of recent episodes. But I really have no idea how the series will end.

And those of you who give this 1/10, both this episode and the last, are just obsessed with Bellamy or "Bellarke". I actually think it's pretty pathetic.

Nearing the End
rainy-designs17 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
All central thematics of the show are coming full circle and the underlying issues that once troubled Abie and Clarke have come to a head with Clarke and Madi. It is time for Clarke to truly evolve as Octavia and John have and I'm keenly interested to see if she'll do it. Another excellent episode that is poised to bring this story full circle.

Also, significant props for Gabriel's exit. "Death is life." Indeed. I enjoyed the character but it is valid that he doesn't get a free pass until the end, it undermines everything he's stood for throughout the show. He lived a long and good life and his end was exceptional and fitting.

Disappointed
ac-011717 September 2020
I started this show early last year, binged all the way through S6 and started watching weekly for S7. I feel like something happened in the writing department because the lack of continuity and storytelling is abysmal; character development, relationships, and arcs have been shred to pieces... I thought final seasons were love letters to the fans in most shows? Guess not in this one. Erasure of main characters is also very odd.

Slow season build-up, rushy, weird and painful at the end
jimmyishere-3774810 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I believe we all loved (at least liked) the first episodes on Skyring or the first episodes of Bardo. 7x07 and 7x09 were average but kinda boring. 7x13 had a huge potential but the writers destroyed it at the end. 7x14 and 7x15 are rushy, no character development, no fun scenes just pain and chaos. Still good though...i guess...
