- TriviaKrusty's failed attempt at singing the national anthem is a reference to Roseanne Barr's infamous rendition of the song on July 25, 1990 before a baseball game between the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds at Jack Murphy Stadium. Unable to hear herself over the PA system, Barr claimed that she had to sing very loudly, making her performance screechy, and offending many viewers, including then-President, George Bush, who declared it "disgraceful".
- GoofsWhile Bart is taking the penalty shot, time on the scoreboard is running. In ice hockey, the clock remains stopped during a penalty shot.
- Quotes
Principal Skinner: First academic alert: Wiggum, Ralph.
Ralph Wiggum: I won! I won!
Principal Skinner: No, no, Ralph, this means you're failing English.
Ralph Wiggum: Me fail English? That's unpossible!

HACK THE BONE!
Lisa takes up Ice Hockey as a means of passing her gym class.
This is an excellent episode with great parody and humour.
Lisa On Ice is a great Bart and Lisa story that has a nice little arc about sibling rivalry and the strength of their bond. One moment is very sweet and if you have children who are close you should appreciate it.
Most of all it uses the behaviour of Homer and others to rip excessively competitive parents to shreds. There's nothing worse than these type of people screaming from the sidelines and this episode captures it well with some ridiculous characterisations.
For me the humour is quite prolific as the punchlines come thick and fast throughout the episode.
For me it's a 9.5/10 but I round upwards.
