With Moya's crew divided this episode follows those on Talyn. Stark and Rygel are out in the pod when Crichton notices that they are heading directly for a small moon; except that it isn't a moon it is a budong. This is a huge space dwelling creature that was first encountered in episode #2.7 'Home on the Remains'; that one was dead though; this one is very much alive and is devouring everything in its path... including Talyn! They manage to anchor themselves but still need to find a way to get out of the creature. Crais's plan is to let Talyn pass through the Budong but when they manage to contact the pod Stark warns then that nothing can survive the intense heat of the budong's stomach; they will have to come up with another plan. If that wasn't bad enough Crichton is getting jealous of the closeness developing between Aeryn and Crais.
I was interested to see whether the two halves of Moya's crew would be quickly reunited; clearly we will have to wait a while before it happens as there is no sign of those left on Moya in this episode. The story about the budong wasn't the great but it was good enough; the real interest here came from the interactions of the crew with each other and with Talyn. The conflicts and petty jealousies make the show far more interesting than it would be if they all got along. As always the acting was pretty solid; I particularly liked Paul Goddard's performance as Stark; he was great as he raved on about the others being doomed and nothing surviving in a budong. He also supplies some good laughs with his interaction with Rygel.
