The title is a pun on William Shakespeare's circa-1592 play "A Comedy of Errors". However, the theme of the story more closely resembles another Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night's Dream.

At the beginning, Cupid is trying to put his son to bed so he can spend quality romantic time with the boy's mother, who is represented by an off-screen voice. This is presumably his wife Psyche, who appeared in The Green-Eyed Monster (1996).
