- TriviaThe scene where George has his walk-and-talk date was filmed in the lagoon area of the CBS Radford Studios in Los Angeles, the same place where Gilligan's Island (1964) was filmed. The lagoon was destroyed sometime in the 90s and doesn't exist any more.
- GoofsAt the end, Jerry is holding up a bite of his omelette, which, despite supposed to be egg white, is coloured a rich yellow.
- Quotes
Jerry Seinfeld: So he just gets soup. He wants to save the meal. So now I got to do it all over again.
Elaine Benes: What kind of soup did he get?
Jerry Seinfeld: I don't know. Consomme or something.
Elaine Benes: Consomme, hmm.
Jerry Seinfeld: What?
Elaine Benes: Well, that's not really a meal, Jerry. I mean, if he had gotten Chicken Gumbo, or Matzah Ball, or Mushroom Barley. Then I would agree with you. Those are very hearty soups.
Jerry Seinfeld: Elaine, you're missing the whole point.
Elaine Benes: What?
Jerry Seinfeld: The meal is the act of sitting down with him. It doesn't matter what you get. As long as he's sitting in that restaurant, it's a meal.
Elaine Benes: Was it a cup or a bowl?
Jerry Seinfeld: You see - ah, uh...
Elaine Benes: I'm just curious.
Jerry Seinfeld: A bowl, okay?
Elaine Benes: Did he crumble any crackers in it?
[Jerry exhales in exasperation]
Elaine Benes: Did he crumble any crackers in it?
Jerry Seinfeld: As a matter of fact, he did.
Elaine Benes: Oh, well. Crackers in a bowl. That, that could be a meal.
Jerry Seinfeld: It's like I'm talking to my Aunt Sylvia here.

What happened in this episode?: Jerry gets a suit and must watch Bania eat soup
Elaine brings over a leech from the United Kingdom.
George rekindles the girl he dumped in "Ex-Girlfriend" now she does the dumping literally
Kramer feeds a fat, loud woman.
The story and the production overview: A fantastic episode. Bania debuts, and he was such a good character, though an annoying one if you viewed him on Jerry's perspective.
Overall a laughable fun episode.
Highlight: Bania at Mendy's
Laugh Meter: 10
Girlfriend attractiveness level: 1.2
Villain: Bania.
The motion of sitting with Jerry at Mendy's should count as a meal. Even if he only had crackers or only gum. If a deal is exchanged and a dinner is offered within that exchange, and you sit down with someone, then that is the meal. Even if you don't eat. Then you should postpone for another day.
What can be learned: Bania was wrong. He was wrong.
Verdict: Soup is a meal IMO.
