Sometimes the best parts of "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" are the second unit shots or stock footage of our nation's capital (Washington, D. C., for those who went to public schools). The Washington Monument, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the White House, the Capitol, etc.
This episode is all about heroin being smuggled in French wine. Three innocent wine tasters, including a Congressman, die as a result of this wine being mis-delivered (be careful what delivery company you hire).
It was topical (and still topical, except no one cares anymore) about drugs and I don't enjoy stories about drugs. I like stories about wine. I don't drink and know nothing about wine but it's fascinating stuff.
More weird people are introduced, including gourmand Plato ("named after that other famous Greek"). Had "Scarecrow" continued it would have had as many bizarre characters as "The X-Files."
