The second part of a two-parter...and it's terrific.
planktonrules27 February 2020
In part one, Detectives Hagen and Triplett (Don Meredith and Christopher Connelly) are looking for two liquor store robbers and murderers. They quickly catch one but the second is a serious problem. Eventually, they get a lead that the second guy is in an apartment. However, when they raid the place, the guy there is NOT the killer but he attacks Hagen. And, not surprisingly, the detectives fire...killing the man. What follows is a rush to judgment as nearly everyone seems to want these two in prison for a killing that was not their fault.

Part two begins with the men meeting with their lawyer (Simon Oakland). They also are assigned to another division and are given a light-weight job until their hearing. Can they manage to keep their noses clean AND beat the charges of second degree murder that face them? And, during all this, can they manage to keep their families from falling apart?

While Christopher Connelly did a lot of television in the 1970s, Don Meredith was an interesting choice for "Police Story". This ex-starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys was on the show eight times...and each appearance was excellent. He was a darned good actor for a non-actor! So, I was happy to see him in this episode.

Is it any good? Yes...quite good. Having Simon Oakland in the second part sure didn't hurt, as he was a terrific supporting actor. Part two really delivers...and is even a bit better than part one!
