The show ended on a cliffhanger with Mork & Mindy in limbo as a setup for season 5. If it had continued, the couple would have been bouncing through time meeting different historical figures each week.
The entire prehistoric sequence was shot in 3-D in an attempt to boost lagging ratings. ABC had already canceled the show and didn't want to employ a ratings stunt, so they only aired it in 2-D.
Although this was the final show shot, "The Mork Report" was aired out of sequence in an attempt to give the canceled show some closure.
The weapon Kalnick uses to threaten Mork and Mindy is actually a Kenner "Star Wars" toy.
