  [Tipton hands an envelope to Anthony]

  Michael Anthony : [to the viewers]  My name is Michael Anthony, and for many years, I was executive secretary to John Beresford Tipton, the multibillionaire, whose charity was as boundless as it was mysterious. For it was his hobby to give away, anonymously and tax-free, $1,000,000 apiece to various people he never knew. This is Silverstone, a fabulous estate of 60,000 acres, the residence and private domain of John Beresford Tipton.

• Michael Anthony : [to the viewers as he reviews a case history file]  Alicia Conception Ostante was one of the most beautiful girls in the world, so my assignment was obviously a pleasant one. But finding this international beauty turned out to be considerably more difficult than I had expected.

  [pointing to phone booth where Seaman Williams is making a phone call]

  Michael Anthony : Mrs., uh, Williams then. You've led me quite a chase.

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : Ah, so you have been chasing me, uh?

  Michael Anthony : But not for the reason you think.

  [Anthony motions to a bench] 

  Michael Anthony : Please.

  [They both sit. Anthony opens his briefcase and removes a check] 

  Michael Anthony : I simply wanted to give you this, a check.

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : A check?

  Michael Anthony : [Anthony looks around to ensure privacy and hands her the check. Whispering]  A cashier's check for one million dollars, tax-free.

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : [Looking at the check]  Oh, no. I think you have the wrong person. I did not buy a lottery ticket.

  Michael Anthony : No, no, Miss Osante. This is a gift, yours to do with as you please. There are only two conditions. You must not tell anyone but your husband the amount or the circumstances under which you received it. I hope this is all perfectly clear to you.

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : Umm... No one but my husband.

  Michael Anthony : Yes. Otherwise, you will have to return the money.

  [Anthony returns to his briefcase and removes a document] 

  Michael Anthony : If you will just sign this paper to that effect.

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : Oh no no. A husband signs the papers, and he's on the phone.

  Michael Anthony : I... I'm afraid you'll have to sign it. The check is made out in your maiden name.

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : Very well, but I don't understand.

  [Starts to read the promise with Anthony, looking around and becoming nervous] 

  Alicia Conception Osante Williams : If I violate this pledge...

  [Signs the document, which Anthony takes back and places in his briefcase] 

  Michael Anthony : Thank you, Miss Osante - uh, Mrs. Williams.

  [Seaman Williams has completed his phone call and starts to approach them] 

  Michael Anthony : I hope this will bring you everything you want.

  [They shake hands. Seaman Williams has arrived. Anthony acknowledges him with a smile, a tip of his hat, then turns and quickly departs]
