- TriviaThe building used in the series for the establishing shot of WJM (known in the series as the 'Snyder Building') was, in fact (at the time) Midwest Savings and Loan, located one block south of the IDS Center, on Nicolette Mall (the IDS Center is shown in the opening of the episodes - in the later seasons, Mary's wearing a yellow-print overalls-type outfit, as she's crossing), at 801 Nicolette Mall, Minneapolis. When the WJM crew (sans Ted) is looking out the newsroom window, at the sunset, the cut-away shot of the newsroom office is on the east side of the building.
- Quotes
Ted Baxter: Mary, I didn't get a chance to thank you. You saved my life by pressing your lips to mine.
Mary Richards: Ted, it was nothing.
Ted Baxter: What'd you expect? I was sick.

"Mary has worked here seven years now..."
Ted's mild heart attack prompts him to reevaluate life and start appreciating beauty in the simple things. This initially drives the newsroom crazy. Then they begin to see his point.
Well acted poignant scenes. The funniest bit for me was when Ted forced everyone to close their eyes and meditate for a count of five.
Explicit references to how long Mary has known Lou seem connected to the decision to make this the final season.
