The Corvair in the wrecking yard which Tim recognized as his first car was a 1963 or '64 Monza convertible (judging by the trim remaining on it) and therefore a first-generation model. The 1966 Corsa was a second-generation model, bearing little resemblance to the earlier cars. A car guy like Tim would have noticed that immediately.
