- TriviaThe harmonica sound effect as Stephanie looks back at Charles is the opening music for Roseanne. Both shows feature a character who faces physical abuse. Charles's father hits in this episode, and, on Roseanne, Jackie's boyfriend hits her.
- GoofsJesse admits to not knowing the woman's identity in the movie Tootsie after he walked in half way through, and is shocked and in disbelief when Steve says the woman was actually a man. This doesn't make sense because he is constantly changing his sexual identity throughout the movie, and then there's the famous "reveal" scene. So Jesse not knowing after watching a chunk of the movie is not possible.
- Quotes
Jesse Katsopolis: [after finding out Charles' father is abusing him] Oh, I gotta report this right now.
Stephanie Tanner: Why?
Jesse Katsopolis: Because... if I don't, I'm gonna go straighten him out myself.
- Alternate versionsOn the original ABC broadcast, the episode closed with John Stamos explaining to viewers that they can prevent child abuse by calling a help number.

Educational.
'Full House' tries to pack in as many episodes with real issues that includes family values as possible. They did drinking. They did running away. Now why not do child abuse? Thing is, how can an end to it be attained? This episode looks at that issue.
Stephanie's clash with her enemy, Charles, inspires her teacher to give an assignment about finding the good in people. Of course, Stephanie and Charles are paired up. When he shows up to the house and they are about to do the assignment, he accidentally admits that his father beats him and begs Steph never to tell. The few minutes Charles is in Stephanie's room is chill to the bone. Next day at school, her teacher says Charles will be out of school for the next week. Now she wonders whether to tell or keep her promise.
First subplot involves Michelle cranking up the phone bill by calling a joke line. She gets angry at Danny for her punishment, but Stephanie now knows how lucky they are.
Second subplot involves Jesse and Steve wondering how to make a book report easier. Kimmy suggests each man to read a half and fill each other in. Funny stuff.
If you suspect abuse is happening, call a help line. It is not your fault. Help and safety are drastically needed.
