- J.R. Ewing: Good morning, Pam.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: J.R... .
- J.R. Ewing: Off to that exercise studio of yours?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: No, not today.
- J.R. Ewing: I just might drop in there one of these days. Thanks to your brother and your husband I've got more time on my hands than I know what to do with.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [sweetly] Well, had you thought about a round-the-world cruise?
- [he doesn't answer]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Hmm?
- [J.R. has difficulty hiding his annoyance]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [to Lucy] All my life, more than anything in the world, I have wanted a child. But that's not fair to say to you. Because I didn't go through what you went through with Roger.
- [shakes her head]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: And I don't know what I'd do about rape.
- J.R. Ewing: [as Holly manages to take off his boots] There you go!
- [re her yacht]
- J.R. Ewing: Well, this is a nice office you got here.
- Holly Harwood: Just a little something Daddy left to go with Harwood Oil.
- J.R. Ewing: Is that right?
- Holly Harwood: Actually, he said he made some of his best deals right here.
- J.R. Ewing: Yeah, I'll bet he did.
- J.R. Ewing: Holly... if you're not gonna trust me, you might as well tear up that agreement right now. My deal calls for twenty-five percent of Harwood Oil. And twenty-five percent of nothing is nothing. I don't do business that way.
- Holly Harwood: It's just, a refinery, I hadn't expected to have to buy one.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I think the better you get to know me, the more you'll understand that I tend to do the unexpected.
- Holly Harwood: I'll remember that! Can I fix you another drink?
- J.R. Ewing: Yeah. That'd would be real nice.
- [she gets up to pour the drinks, and he moves up behind her]
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I think that's enough work for today.
- Holly Harwood: But we haven't discussed those pending acquisitions.
- J.R. Ewing: Plenty of time for that.
- [moves in for the kiss, but when his lips close over hers, she doesn't return the kiss]
- J.R. Ewing: Did you hire me for my mind?
- Holly Harwood: J.R., do I look like a woman that's doing without?
