The first episode of a long and famous series
COMMISSAIRE MOULIN is for me the longest and best crime series ever made by the French Tv industry, besides maybe MAIGRET; but the George Simenon's character offered something different in terms of atmosphere and style.... But if you compare - no sorry you can't compare - with garbage stuff as NAVARRO or JOSEPHIINE ANGE GARDIEN, MOULIN is really above the rest. It will last till 2008, after 70 episodes and thirty years, of ninety minutes stories. It was not a comedy series, though light hearted from time to time. Yves Renier will become a myth, he WAS Commissaire Moulin for the rest of his entire life and career. This very one episode is not the best, only the "warm-up", for a plot already told a million times before. An innocent man accused of a crime and then.... Nothing special, but believe me, the rest of the entire show will be terrific, offering many many interesting plots and surprises. Excellent climax though. Surprising.
