The game clock shows 9 seconds left and after 10 seconds of continuous play it shows 6 seconds. After 19 seconds of continuous play it then shows 3 seconds. Had real time been used, the CHP team would have lost the game.
When Bruce Nelson and Linahan are pursuing Getraer's car, the ambient sounds are heard in the office over the radio such as the siren and crashes. Unless the microphone were keyed the entire time, these would not be heard. If the microphone were keyed the entire time, then Getraer could not talk to them since only one user can be on the radio at a time.
Just as with the auto burglary surveillance in Brat Patrol (1983), neither CHP officers nor explorers would perform the duties shown, in this case patrolling the halls of a school. The CHP at the time was a traffic-oriented agency. Accordingly, the Nelsons would not have taken a report from the kid that got mugged.
The stolen 1983 Chrysler E-Class was an economy sedan with either a 2.2 or 2.6 liter 4 cylinder engine, whereas a 1982 Special Service Package (SSP) Ford Mustang was at the time a relatively powerful vehicle with a 5 liter V8. The economy sedan would not be able to outperform the Mustang as shown during the pursuit.
Subordinates would not take a theft report involving a superior officer such as Getraer, especially since Getraer was negligent and in violation of state law for leaving his keys in the car. The report would either be taken by local law enforcement or CHP personnel not in Getraer's chain of command.
The woman drops the boat trailer and it does not roll backward. After the police car pulls forward, she drops it again and it rolls backward. This same error takes place after the girls get out of Getraer's car and then some time later it rolls away.
Throughout the episode, Getraer's car did not display any license plates.
Getraer has just bought the car, as evidenced by the temporary registration displayed on the front windshield. In California, a new car does not a receive real license plate until the buyer has applied for one through the DMV, so it's not a mistake that the car doesn't have a rear license plate.

As Getraer's stolen car is getting away, a real police car with flashing red lights is visible ahead of the stolen car with an officer on foot in front of the car. This was a traffic detail to block the road for filming.
Bruce Nelson and Linahan are clearly riding on a filming trailer when the stolen car passes them.
When Cathy and Bruce spot Getraer's stolen car, Bruce reports that they are heading westbound on Wilshire Boulevard, yet immediately before they saw the car, they were in the City of Redondo Beach, as evidenced by a street sign with the city's iconic sailboat logo. Wilshire Boulevard goes nowhere near Redondo Beach.
Carter calls in that he is pursuing a stolen Chrysler even though he had not confirmed it was stolen- such as checking the tag number. Even though he gave no description or license plate number, and there were likely any number of stolen Chryslers in Los Angeles at the time, Getraer assumes it is his stolen car.
With a Mustang patrol car and 4 KZ1000 motorcycles chasing the stolen car, it would not have escaped as shown. Any of the motorcycle officers could have gone around the boat onto the sidewalk and continued the pursuit. Additionally, after the crash, there was enough room for a motorcycle to go between the boat and the car that was damaged.
None of the members of the brat patrol have graduated from high school, yet somehow, they are able to patrol a middle school at lunch time and then later in the afternoon.
While pursuing Getraer's stolen car, a minor two-vehicle crash takes place and both Bruce Nelson and Linahan stop. Only one officer would need to stop, the other could continue the pursuit until other officers arrived.
