- Marcus Cole: Touch passion when it comes your way, Stephen. It's rare enough as it is. Don't walk away when it calls you by name.
- [last lines]
- Delenn: You've tried to act as if nothing had changed. But I know your heart, John. You can fool the others, but you cannot fool me. What is left requires that you be dangerous, and I think you would be more comfortable doing that if I were not here.
- Capt. John Sheridan: Would it make a difference if I asked you not to go?
- Delenn: Would you want it to make a difference?
- Capt. John Sheridan: No. I suppose not. Well, how long before you have to leave?
- Delenn: Tomorrow morning.
- Capt. John Sheridan: Dinner?
- Delenn: Love to. - Have you heard from Marcus and Stephen?
- Capt. John Sheridan: Not since before you left, which is what I figured. I'm sure Stephen has his hands full.
- [cut to Mars]
- Number One: Ooh, Stephen!
- Pak'ma'ra Captain: [sending a distress signal] Engines hit... life support no longer functioning... dark enemy!
- Delenn: This is Delenn of the Minbari. We are en route. How many ships are attacking you?
- Pak'ma'ra Captain: [his last words] Too many! Too many!
- [first lines]
- ISN Reporter: As reports continue to come in about the harsh conditions aboard what was once the shining beacon of Earthforce, Babylon 5, messages smuggled out indicate that humans continue to be subjected to cruel oppression by alien groups aboard the renegade outpost. And every day more people are asking, "When will Earth intervene? How much lomger can we allow our citizens to endure this mistreatment?"
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Why do you keep watching that? You know it just upsets you.
- Capt. John Sheridan: I'm gathering intelligence.
- Capt. John Sheridan: During the last phase of the war, you were on the babcom system updating everyone on evacuations, safe zones, rescues which planets had falle.
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Yes, I know, I hated it.
- Capt. John Sheridan: You were great at it. You have a face people trust.
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: I'd rather have a face people fear.
- Capt. John Sheridan: Well, that too, but... See, it occurred to me that if we could do that here, on a small scale why not on a larger scale? I mean, ever since we broke away from Earth solid information has been rare as gold. We've had to rely on smuggled data crystals, rumors, stories. All they have to go on back home is what ISN tells them. So why not solve two problems at the same time? Why not come up with a way to turn the war room into- I don't know, - The Voice of the Resistance! Susan, during World War II, the French Resistance used to go on the air for one hour a night, always from a different location, broadcasting the *real* news about the war. Providing intelligence for the resistance fighters, encouraging Germans to defect. Well, why can't we do the same thing here?
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Why do I get the ugly suspicion that you're volunteering me for this job?
- Capt. John Sheridan: I accept your offer!
- Capt. John Sheridan: I'm tired, Delenn. Sometimes I feel as if I've been carrying this station on my back and crawling through broken glass for three years.
- Marcus Cole: [Number One has just come on to Dr. Franklin, who is skeptical] Ask me, I think she likes you.
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Ah, c'mon, nah... it's just business, that's all.
- Marcus Cole: Stephen...
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Look, I was just helping her out of a difficult situation, that's all...
- Marcus Cole: Fifty credits says that's not all she wants you to help her out of.
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Oh, c'mon, Marcus you're such a...
- Marcus Cole: ...romantic?
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Yeah.
- Marcus Cole: We're still in a war here, Stephen. Only now it's a different kind of war, maybe the worst of the two. It's hard to know who to trust; a situation like this makes you afraid, makes you want to reach out to someone who may just feel the same way as you do about things, who might be willing to risk this much to help you when the rest of the world couldn't give a damn.
- Number One: Oh, Franklin, I almost forgot; since it was your hotel that was bombed this morning you're on your own. Maybe you'd like to join me for dinner tonight? I can't promise much, but it'll be the best we can pull together.
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: [shrugs] Sure.
- Number One: [to Marcus] We're a little short-handed on guard duty tonight. If you could help out...
- Marcus Cole: Love to!
- [Number One leaves]
- Marcus Cole: That'll be fifty credits...
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Now don't you start with me, Marcus. Don't.
- Marcus Cole: C'mon, you cheap bastard...
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Marcus, look...
- Marcus Cole: Sorry, gotta go. Guard duty. - Touch passion when it comes your way, Stephen. It's rare enough as it is. Don't walk away when it calls you by name.
- [...]
- Number One: [much later, as Marcus is keeping watch] Ohhhh. Stephen...
- Delenn: Lennier, have you ever seen the warrior caste training flights?
- Lennier: Yes.
- Delenn: Have you ever seen them skin dancing?
- Lennier: I have.
- Delenn: Can you do the same thing?
- Lennier: Not without approximately... five years of additional training.
- Delenn: That would be no, then.
- Lennier: But I can program the parameters into the ship's artificial intelligence matrix.
- Delenn: And what do you do then?
- Delenn: Touch that button, and pray very, very fast.
- Number One: A call takes ten seconds. Do you know what I can do to you in ten seconds? In ten seconds, I can cripple you for life. In ten seconds I can break your skull open and scoop out your brains for cat food!
- Number One: You don't breathe, you don't move, and you don't blow things up unless you check with me first!
- [Number One just had a loud confrontation with Phillippe and storms past Stephen and Marcus]
- Number One: Whatever you've got to say, it damn well better be worth it.
- Marcus Cole: [to Stephen] Looks upset.
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: Think it's something we said?
- Marcus Cole: Hope not. I'd sooner face an entire Shadow fleet than what just walked past us.
- Capt. John Sheridan: You can't kill the truth. Actually, you can kill the truth but it alway comes back to haunt you.
- Number One: You know damn well what you did. That bombing was unauthorized.
- Phillipe: I checked with Donovan!
- Number One: Donovan's Earthside! Whatever he may think, he doesn't run the Resistance. Mars is my territory and you don't pull this kind of crap without authorization.
- Phillipe: I saw the security squad checking in. There wasn't time!
- Number One: A call takes 10 seconds. Do you know what I can do to you in10 seconds? In 10 seconds I can cripple you for life. In 10 seconds I can break your skull open and scoop out your brains for cat food. I've got 10 dead civilians on the deck, Phillipe and they're going to hold me responsible. They'll be looking for me long after you go home to Earth. I don't care what you do back home, but here you answer to me and you don't do anything! Yo don't breathe, you don't move and you don't blow thins up unless you check with me first! Clear?
- [Phillipe nods]
- Phillipe: Tell me, is this how you treat all your former lovers?
- Number One: As a matter of fact, yes.
