Ghost of Tsushima was a massive success and the perfect game to send off the previous console generation. The developers applied what they learned from inFAMOUS and took their time to get the project up and running, but not everyone’s ready to move on.

Ghost of Tsushima’s sequel is something fans of open-world action-adventure games have been looking forward to. The first game was a major success, climbing the charts of both PlayStation and Steam. While there’s not much information about the game itself, there’s a big update on its development cycle.

PlayStation has given its fans some very exciting games over the years. But their first-party studios are mostly known for developing some very story-heavy games. These titles would feature a linear progression system, which does not give fans much freedom in exploration. But the developer of Ghost of Tsushima changed this.
A truly open-world game where players can go anywhere and do anything. It took some ideas from this developer’s previously released Infamous series of games. The idea of walking two paths was described in this game as the path of a ghost or a samurai. And now, years after this game’s launch, some suggest that they can use this idea to take this franchise in a whole new direction.

“Do your recon,” Brian Cox says to Sinqua Walls in the 2022 film Mending the Line. “More great literature has been written about fly-fishing than any other sport.” So begins a reluctant friendship between two military men that grows while they wade in Montana’s shallow waters waiting for pike to bite.
From director Joshua Caldwell (Infamous), the film centers around a Marine living with trauma (Walls) who learns to face his struggles head-on as he fosters an unlikely friendship with an older veteran (Cox).
Stream it now.
Colter (Walls), a sergeant in the Marines, has just returned from Afghanistan, where he was wounded right before his tour ended. He’s tormented by flashbacks and nightmares about what happened to his fellow Marines and racked with guilt that he was unable to prevent casualties among them. Now, after passing through a few rehab facilities, he’s desperate to return to active...

Killzone, the now-dead first-person shooter franchise and arguably PlayStation’s flagship shooter title, was one of the most popular shooter games out there. The first was released back in 2004, and the last title came in 2013, but players have constantly been clamoring for a remake.
There have been several PlayStation remakes of popular classic games in recent years, and there will be more in the upcoming year, but sadly, none of them will be Killzone titles. A leaker has claimed that despite several remakes being in the works, Killzone fans will be left empty-handed.

In 2006, a movie came out starring Daniel Craig, Sandra Bullock, Sigourney Weaver, Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, Isabella Rossellini, Peter Bogdanovich, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Toby Jones. That’s a murderer’s row of talent bringing to life writer/director Douglas McGrath’s script — and very few people paid it much mind. But “Infamous” was a victim of bad timing, not bad filmmaking.
One can’t blame audiences for greeting it with a collective shrug. McGrath’s movie tackled the exact same topic as the previous year’s “Capote” (the movie that earned Philip Seymour Hoffman his first and only Oscar): Truman Capote’s time spent researching and writing his true-crime classic “In Cold Blood.” After the buzzy release of “Capote” and months spent in awards season campaigning mode, no one was ready to revisit the subject.

Apple TV+’s The New Look, which premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 14 with its first three episodes, examines the lives of fashion powerhouses Christian Dior (played by Ben Mendelsohn) and Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche) the people, as opposed to the ubiquitous brand names we all recognize today.
Set in Paris during World War II, the series follows Dior and Chanel as they try to forge ahead in fashion during Nazi occupation. Before long, both designers are compromising their morals in order to survive and sustain their brands. “I think [Christian] is navigating [war] not knowing what he’s doing,” Mendelsohn tells TVLine. “I think he has some principles.

Plot: Acclaimed writer Truman Capote surrounded himself with a coterie of society’s most elite women – rich, glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of high society New York – whom he nicknamed “the swans.” Enchanted and captivated by these doyennes, Capote ingratiated himself into their lives, befriending them and becoming their confidante, only to ultimately betray them by writing a thinly veiled fictionalization of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets. When an excerpt from the book, Answered Prayers, Capote’s planned magnum opus, was published in Esquire, it effectively destroyed his relationship with his swans, banished him from the high society he so loved and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.

Truman Capote is America’s Princess Diana. There, someone had to say it. In both instances, we remain obsessed not with the good work done but with the scandal-plagued, tragedy-tinted endings to two beloved figures. More than 40 years after Captote’s death by slow suicide (though officially it was liver failure), pop culture can’t get enough of his final years. Almost 20 years after the back-to-back film looks at his life, Jon Robin Baitz (“Brothers and Sisters”) brings Capote to TV with the second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series “Feud,” “Capote vs. The Swans.”
While the two movies about Capote’s life focused on the research and writing of his masterpiece “In Cold Blood,” “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” zeroes in on the work he published in the aftermath of that global success. Notably, a chapter from his work-in-progress “Answered Prayers” in which the novel’s narrator, P.B. Jones,...

Taylor Swift cracked herself up while performing a song inspired by her long-running feud with Kanye West.
During her acoustic set at Saturday night’s Eras Tour show at Seattle’s Lumen Field, Swift accompanied herself on guitar to perform “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things”.
The track, from her 2017 Reputation album, is rumoured to be her response to West’s 2016 song “Famous”, in which he rapped, “I made that b***h famous,” and the back-and-forth controversy that followed.
One line in particular is seemingly aimed directly at West: “It was so nice being friends again / where I was giving you a second chance / but you stabbed me in the back while shaking my hand.”

Audiences might bemoan the lack of original thinking at the movies these days — all those sequels, remakes, and reboots! — but even new ideas can feel suddenly played out when faced with the horrifying specter of parallel thinking. Consider everything from “Deep Impact” and “Armageddon” to “Dante’s Peak” and “Volcano,” “Capote” and “Infamous” to “No Strings Attached” and “Friends with Benefits,” and those are just contemporary examples of the phenomenon. If you’ve got an idea for a movie — hopefully, a good one to boot — chances are, someone else has it, too. And they may even have it at the exact same time.

Spider-Man isn’t exactly the first character that comes to mind when one thinks of comic-book horror, but the iconic wall-crawler has actually dealt with his fair share of terror since his debut back in 1962. From his tragic part in the Marvel Zombies crossover to being forced to battle against monstrous villains like Carnage and The Lizard, there’s no shortage of horror-inspired stories starring our favorite web-head.
That’s why it makes sense that one of the most famous Spider-Man yarns centers around an extraterrestrial parasite that feeds off of aggression, with the aptly named “Alien Costume Saga” touching on elements of body horror and introducing a new monstrous antagonist in the form of Venom (who would later be rebranded as an anti-hero due to the character’s overwhelming popularity). 35 years later, this story is still influencing Spider-Man adaptations, with the most recent example being Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man 2,...

The autobiographical play recounts the actor, writer and director’s life, starting at the age of 14 in Midland, Texas, the town made famous by the 1987 well rescue of “Baby Jessica.” The Emma and Nicholas Nickleby screenwriter will detail some of his most significant remembrances, including the courtship of his one-eyed father and his mother — the latter of whom worked at Harper’s Bazaar for Diana Vreeland and became pals with Andy Warhol — and an eighth-grade teacher who changed McGrath’s life in the most unexpected way.
Everything’s Fine will mark McGrath’s first New York stage performance in more than 25 years. The show serves as Lithgow’s return to directing after more than four decades.

Even in the endlessly eccentric annals of independent animation — where the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” took flight and Ralph Bakshi tripped out amid jive-talking rabbits and X-rated cats — “Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles” is an oddity: a feature-length cartoon about the making of a 27-minute documentary. Frankly, it was a brilliant choice on the part of director Salvador Simo to use such an expressionistic medium to examine how surrealist filmmaker Luis Buñuel bent reality to his own ends in the making of 1933 documentary “Las Hurdes” (aka “Land Without Bread”).
Of course, animation later proved fertile ground for Buñuel’s friend — and fellow surrealist — Salvador Dalí (who designed “Destino” for Disney), seeing as the hand-drawn form is uniquely suited to what André Breton described as the surrealists’ aim: “to resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality.” As many have observed about the medium,...

Sigourney Weaver celebrates her 69th birthday on October 8, 2018. The three-time Oscar nominee has proven herself a capable leading lady in a variety of genres, including science fiction, fantasy, comedy, horror, and drama. In honor of her birthday, let’s take a look back at 15 of her greatest films, ranked worst to best.
Weaver made her film debut with a walk-on role as Woody Allen‘s girlfriend in “Annie Hall” (1977). Her breakthrough came just two years later for Ridley Scott‘s landmark sci-fi thriller “Alien” (1979). As Ripley, the lone survivor aboard a spacecraft besieged by a snarling, ferocious extra-terrestrial, Weaver broke down barriers for female action stars and helped launch a franchise that led to three sequels: James Cameron‘s “Aliens” (1986), David Fincher‘s “Alien 3” (1992), and Jean-Pierre Jeunet‘s “Alien: Resurrection” (1997).

Toby Jones is on this year’s Emmy ballot for his BAFTA-winning performance in the low-key comedy “Detectorists” as a would-be treasure hunter. Thanks to Acorn TV, the third and final season of this hit Britcom is eligible for Emmy consideration. The Us-based streaming service co-produced the last six episodes of this delightful slice-of-life created by “The Office” star Mackenzie Crook. He wrote and directed every episode and stars as the archaeologist Andy who spends his free time with his pal Lance (Toby Jones) in search of buried treasure.
Jones was delighted to have won his first BAFTA for a show so close to his heart. “This is just the most wonderful, chilled out job ever,” he readily admitted. And he loves that his career takes him from this intimate television project to the likes of the upcoming “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” in which he has a key role.

[Note: Some light spoilers for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” below.]
Yes, the dinosaurs are back. So are human leads Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen (Chris Pratt). Even the battered island of Isla Nubar is still standing (sort of). But as J.A. But these “Jurassic” newbies aren’t a bunch of random additions to the genetically modified series, but a compelling batch of established and rising stars, amounting to what just might be the most overqualified supporting cast of any of this summer’s blockbusters. When James Cromwell is billed sixth in a cast, you’ve got some deep talent. Add Ted Levine disappearing into a nutty turn as an exceedingly stupid mercenary, and you know there’s been some careful...

Here’s one straight from the rumor cabinet: The Avengers Project, Marvel and Square Enix’s ensemble piece, may take the form of an Ultimate Alliance reboot.
That’s the latest speculative morsel to emerge from 4chan (h/t IGN Germany), which claims that Square’s superhero title revolves around three of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – namely Iron Man, Captain America and Scarlet Witch, whose voices feature in the above teaser – for a gameplay experience that’s been described as a mix between Uncharted and Sucker Punch’s inFamous series. So, third-person open world with a touch of superhuman abilities and a totally original story?
Chances are the Powers That Be will be in attendance at E3 2018 to discuss The Avengers Project, and only then will we know if it’s evolved into Avengers: Ultimate Alliance as this 4chan user alleges:
Cutting to the short of it: ‘The Avengers Project’ is Avengers: Ultimate Alliance.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the Netflix limited series “Godless.”]
Scott Frank first conceived of “Godless” because he loved the Western genre. In an interview with IndieWire, he said, “It’s the romance of living in that time, everything from the horses to the guns. There’s a very romantic notion, the kind of surviving through all of that and living out there in those days. A lot of people look back on that and wish we were sort of there again, in many ways.”
“It’s not just the negative aspects, like the violence and sort of the being caught out in the elements. All of that are certainly part of it, but it’s also just the quiet, giant, empty spaces that we don’t have anymore, or we certainly don’t experience every day anymore.”

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the Netflix limited series “Godless.”]
“Godless” may be a limited series drenched in blood from multiple massacres and shootouts, but creator Scott Frank had a more romantic intention when he began.
“When I first started thinking I wanted to write a love story, all I knew back in 2002 when I was starting this, is that I wanted to write a Western,” Frank said in an interview with IndieWire. “I had no idea what the story would be, I had no idea who the characters would be. Dialogue is really important to me, and I wasn’t sure if I could ever capture the voice, and I didn’t want it to be full of, ‘I reckon.’”
Frank turned to associate producer Mimi Munson for inspiration. She gave him a list of top Western novels to read to capture the voice and also researched real-life events.

Comparing installments of an anthology like “Black Mirror” is an inherently tricky prospect. Most of the entries have a certain “We’re all doomed” streak that runs through them, but whether hopeful or defeatist, there’s something distinctly different animating each of these episodes.
Arranging them in quality doesn’t necessarily make for the ideal viewing order either. Want to bit of uplift with your futurism? Bent on basking in the futility of trying to avoid a planet without dangerous automated attacks against nature? The rhythms of this series rise and fall more on their themes than the wallop each of these stories delivers.
But if you’re a die-hard fan or just wading into Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ murky sci-fi waters, a new season is on the horizon, so we’re adding our rankings to the mix.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for the Netflix limited series, “Godless.” For a spoiler-free review, please click here.]
All in all, “Godless” is a relatively straightforward western — and proud of it. Scott Frank’s limited series wears its emotions on its dirty, tattered sleeve, and the nearly feature-length finale wraps things up in a way that’s satisfying in the specifics more so than any big surprises.
Genre staples are met almost as though they’re being checked off a list. There’s a betrayal. There’s a massacre outside of town. There’s a massive shootout in town. There’s a quickdraw duel between good and evil. There are deaths. There are goodbyes. There’s hope.
In comforting fashion, Frank’s western abides by the formulas and format of the classics and draws to mind the great miniseries of yesteryear (namely, “Lonesome Dove”). But what elevates “Godless” beyond imitation are its subtle yet strong modern touches.

From the makers of Infamous comes the new samurai action title, Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima is something of an alternate history take on the era of the Mongolian Empire. The Mongol army has invaded the island of Tsushima, and you as the player must control one of the last samurais as he attempts to fight off the invading horde. Along the way, players will be forced to abandon their traditional ways and embrace a style of fighting referred to as the "way of the Ghost."
This stunning game from Sucker Punch, the makers of Sly Cooper and Infamous, features incredible visuals, a sweeping soundtrack, a methodical combat system reminiscent of what we've seen in God of War, and a lot of promising design choices.
We can't wait to get our hands on this game. For now, this is what we know about Ghost of Tsushima.

Update: This post has been updated to contain numbers from the weekend ending August 13, 2017.
This summer has been a big one for Hollywood. Over the course of the past few months, we’ve seen around 19 big films hit theaters. And these weren’t just normal low or mid-budget releases. No, these were big, $150 million-plus budget releases. Every single weekend, it seemed, contained a big film. Heck, I’d say this triage of big blockbusters began well before summer did, with films like Kong: Skull Island hitting in March.
But how has this summer fared? With so many big movies hitting, how many were audiences actually able to go out and see, and is it enough films that studios will continue churning these bad boys out in massive quantities for the foreseeable future? We were curious about this ourselves, and set out to see how the box office fared over the past few months.
