Good mystery but not in line with Agatha Chrisite's original story
I watched these videos years ago but did not review them. Today I watched The Body in the Library with Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple and also The Body in the Library with Joan Hickson as Miss Marple.
This one was filmed in 2004 was very similar to the one with Joan Hickson in 1984.
The storyline was very much the same but some of the characters were different. Ruby a woman is found dead in the library of a large home and no one in the house knew her.
Ruby was very friendly with an older man named Conway Jefferson. Jefferson's wife died in an airplane crash along with a adult married daughter and son. The mates a son-in-law and daughter-in-law and grandson were not killed. They were close with their disabled father-in-law who supported them.
There were a lot of characters and a lot of suspects, sometimes very confusing to know who was who.
Ruby was found in Dolly's house dead and Dolly wanted Miss Marple her friend to come down and visit.
The storyline was changed in this and it comes out in the story that two of the women are lesbians.
Agatha Christie did not put this in her book. The writers and producers of this episode altered the story and the ending.
For this reason I gave it a lower rating because they changed the original story and also for deceiving the audience and changing the ending.

Beginning in 2004, ITV broadcast a series of adaptations of Agatha Christie's books under the title Agatha Christie's Marple, usually referred to as Marple. Geraldine McEwan starred in the first three series. Julia McKenzie took over the role in the fourth season. The adaptions are notable for changing the plots and characters of the original books (e.g. incorporating lesbian affairs, changing killer identities, renaming or removing significant characters, and even using stories from other books in which Miss Marple did not originally feature)
