A dramatization of events that took place on the fateful 30 March, 1981, when president Ronald Reagan suffered an assassination attempt by a lone man. With a leader fighting for his life in the hospital and the vice-president absent from the capital, Secretary of State Al Haig is the one who tries to stay in charge of everything in the White House control room, monitoring a possible Soviet invasion on Poland and dealing with a curious and invasive press desperate to know the real health condition of Reagan.
