Domestic distributor Bleecker Street is in negotiations to acquire rights to “Fackham Hall,” a British spoof of “Downton Abbey” and other costume dramas. Sales outfit The Veterans is pre-selling international territories. And as international buyers face a potential drought of Hollywood product due to strikes, the market is offering other promising presale titles.
WME Independent is pre-selling James Madigan’s “The Beast,” with Samuel L. Jackson in negotiations to star. He’ll play a U.S. president who fights a coup in his battle-ready, bomb-proof limousine with grenades and shotguns. As he rides through a violent wasteland of chaos and unrelenting carnage, he must learn to control The Beast — and the monster inside himself — to save his life, the life of a Secret Service agent (Joel Kinnaman of “Suicide Squad” fame) and his country. Unified Pictures’ Keith Kjarval, Fifth Season, Film 44’s John Logan Pierson and Peter Berg are producing...

Back in 2019, it was announced that Full Moon was developing a sequel to the 1988 cult classic Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama (watch it Here), with Slimeball director David DeCoteau returning to the helm for Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama 2 and co-directing the film with legendary scream queen Brinke Stevens. Stevens played a character named Taffy in the original film. The sequel was slowed down a bit by the pandemic, but production is officially underway now – and while it’s not clear if DeCoteau still has a hand in the project, we can say for sure that Stevens is directing the film. She confirmed this herself on her Facebook page!
Written by Kent Roudebush, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama 2 has the following synopsis: The babes are back! And so is everyone’s favorite wish-grantin’, murder-lovin’ mischievous gremlin, the Imp! The gang’s all here, including the stars of the original film,...

Questlove, Black Thought, bass great Pino Palladino and more have partnered with pianist-producer Ray Angry and artist Katherine McMahon for a new rendition of the Christmas standard, “Toyland.”
“#Toyland” is part of Angry and McMahon’s ongoing Public Domain project, which has found the pair — and a revolving door of collaborators — creating new versions of old songs that are no longer beholden to copyright protections. The original “Toyland” was penned by Victor Herbert and Glen MacDonough in 1903 for their holiday operetta Babes in Toyland; the new Public Domain version also features Marcus King,...

With Happy Feet Two out in UK cinemas this Friday, we caught with director and stars George Miller, Elijah Wood, Sofia Vergara and Robbie Williams for a chat...
Director George Miller thinks penguins look like humans from a distance if you squint. So might you, I suppose, if you’d spent the last seven years obsessing over animated feathers and frozen fluff. He’s also quite an expert on natural history, and willing to dish out lengthy and informative lessons on the behavioural habits of penguin breeds and elephant seals to prove it.
We’ve spared you those, but did ask Miller just how one makes the transition from an all singing, all dancing kids’ movie like Happy Feet Two, to the post-apocalyptic world of his fourth and fifth Mad Max films?
“One is a holiday from the other. Particularly when you do animation, you micromanage every movement and detail,...

AMC's latest hit "The Walking Dead" keeps on bringing the ratings magic for the network. The Nov. 28 episode brought in the series' best ratings yet, drawing 5.5 million viewers, beating the show's premiere on Halloween and a 15% increase from the previous week's episode. We're guessing next week's season finale will improve on those numbers. [The Hollywood Reporter]
Sectionals are here, Gleeks! The McKinley High glee kids decided to take on a big challenge for their sectionals performance on "Glee" and tackled Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days are Over." While it's not their best cover, we still think it will win them the title. Also, it seems Santana (Naya Rivera) got to sing lead on this one, so kudos, Show. [PopWrap]
