In this movie, it is explained that a famous collection of diamonds was stolen during World War II by the Nazis, namely by Nazi leader Hermann Goering. In real-life, Nazi leader Hermann Göring, was an avid collector of diamonds and other precious gems. Nazi Minister of Armaments, Albert Speer, wrote in his memoirs about Goering's habit of filling his coat pockets with precious gems and often time running his hands through the gems.
Throughout the presentation the usage of OCR typeface is used, as was common during the infant days of the computer era in movies. Unique to this television movie (amongst many particular other cinematic devices), is the ending which rather than the common "The End" signature is "End Run" in OCR type, indicative of magnetic tape and punch card batch programming. "End Run" also appears on a screen after a connection to Probe Control is closed - this continued to be used in the subsequent series Search (1972).
When originally broadcast, the TV movie had all of its credits at the beginning. After it was re-titled Search to avoid being confused with a PBS series titled Probe, some credits were moved to the end, and edited versions of Dominic Frontiere's theme are used in both places as a result.
