Felix Silla (Shorty) and his leading lady, Claire Brennen, met on the set of this movie. They began a nine-year relationship and managed to keep it secret for all of those years, despite the fact that it produced a son.
The mummified body of Elmer J. McCurdy was used as a prop. McCurdy was an outlaw killed by police in an Oklahoma train robbery in 1911. A traveling carnival bought his mummified body from a funeral home and put it on display in its "sideshow" exhibits. It "changed hands" several times over the years and eventually disappeared. It was discovered in an amusement park in Long Beach, CA, in 1976. In 1977 his body was finally burial in a cemetery in Guthrie, OK.
