Kevin has been a writer since the age of 16. From an early age, the fine arts have always fascinated him, particularly acting and writing. Throughout junior high, English became his favorite subject, as he was able to explore his creativity to the fullest possible extent. He soon began writing poems, short stories and songs. Writing eventually went on the back burner, when Kevin graduated from high school and later joined the United States Air Force. After separating from the service, Kevin spent three years working while yearning to further his craft. It was during this time, that he got into musical theatre starring in three productions between 2003 and 2004. Despite his limited singing ability, Kevin enjoyed every minute of it. Shortly thereafter, Kevin participated in the filming of the independent Mafia thriller Real Premonition (2007). It was the on-set networking that day, by which he became acquainted with several other local talented individuals, namely actress Sheri Lawrence and cinematographer Dave A. Barrett. It was through the contacts Kevin made years ago, that has helped him cultivate his flair for writing as well as his desire to work both in front of and behind the camera. While it is a rarity that such caring and gracious individuals would offer their assistance without compensation people, like Sheri and Dave have encouraged Kevin to go for the jugular and write from the heart, as Sheri would often say: "The best inspiration comes from life's experiences." Throughout the rest of the early 2000s and much of the 2010s, Kevin networked while doing uncredited background work on various student, independent and short films and eventually made solid connections on the set of the award-winning short film "Reset." That experience led to yet another gig, the feature-length comedy "Random Tropical Paradise." Not only was it an overwhelmingly positive experience, it was also his first credited and paid gig. Shortly thereafter, Kevin met his friend and colleague director Scott Christanson. Together they produced a sizzle reel based on Kevin's feature-length original comedy "Mixed Nuts." A slice of life satire about the ongoing infighting as the result of a impending Irish-Italian wedding, it has the potential to be a hit. A walking encyclopedia who knows various films inside and out, Kevin recently ventured into stand-up comedy and has finally found his calling as a screenwriter.- Rick Ankiel was born on 19 July 1979 in Fort Pierce, Florida, USA.
