Christine Auger(I)
Born in 1978, Christine Auger is a French painter of Contemporary Abstract Expressionism based in Paris. After studies at ESAD (École supérieure d'Art et Design de Reims), Atelier de Sèvres (Paris) and ESADS (École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg) in mid-1990s, she pursued a career of painting and graphic design. In early 2000s, she developed a unique blend of traditional pigment-based techniques with every-day materials like scotch tape and digital acquisition / printing technologies, in order to create transparent miniatures which are then printed or projected at any size. A process explored in the 2015 short documentary "Christine Auger", directed by Anatoly Ivanov. Her work focuses on the relevancy of abstract painting in the post-modern world and on the non-intellectual interaction with art.
