[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 Episode 9 “Lagrange Point.”] Uh-oh, the crew needs to help their captain, stat! Star Trek: Discovery‘s penultimate episode ends with Michael (Sonequa Martin-Green) in a precarious situation. When the Breen get their hands on the Progenitors’ tech first, the Discovery crew stages a heist in hopes of getting it, and Michael, Book (David Ajala), Adira (Blu del Barrio), and Rhys (Patrick Kwok-Choon) sneak on board, disguised. Things, of course, go sideways, and Michael ends up following Moll (Eve Harlow) into a portal in the Progenitors’ tech … which the crew does get off the Breen ship only for a white light to come exploding out of it and scans show no sign of Michael. “Between season 1 and season 5 is an entire life.” That’s a real understatement on the part of Sonequa Martin-Green in an interview with Den of Geek magazine, describing the five-season and seven-year journey of her character Michael Burnham, the protagonist of Star Trek: Discovery.
When we first met Burnham way back in 2017, she was the first officer on the USS Shenzhou, a Starfleet ship operating about a decade before the events of The Original Series, and under the command of Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh). By the end of the two-part premiere, Georgiou was dead and Burnham was in prison for mutiny.
Things have certainly changed since then. We begin Discovery‘s fifth and final season with Captain Michael Burnham of the USS Discovery, but adventuring over 900 years after the events of the premiere. Yeah, it’s been a wild journey, one that incurred more than a little criticism early...

Quick, who’s the most important person in Star Trek? Jim Kirk? Jean-Luc Picard? Morn?
No, no, and maybe, but not who we had in mind. The most important person in Star Trek is the character who has appeared in every series, except The Original Series: William T. Riker, the character immortalized by Jonathan Frakes.
Of course, Frakes played Commander Riker for seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation. His twin/clone/variant Thomas Riker showed up as a Maquis agent on Deep Space Nine, while Q shenanigans brought Will to the Delta Quadrant on Voyager. No one, not even Frakes, likes Riker’s appearance with Troi in the finale of Enterprise. But everyone loved Riker and Troi’s vocal appearances on Lower Decks. And, yes, it takes some fudging, but Star Trek: Very Short Treks allowed Riker to blast his trombone with the Star Trek: The Animated Series crew,...

When Paramount+ brought Trek back to television in September 2017 with Star Trek: Discovery's double-decker premiere event, it broke ground on a road that would see the rebirth of the Trek franchise.
Six years later, Star Trek: Discovery has saved the galaxy multiple times; traveled through the mycelial network, to the Mirror Universe and back, forward in time nine hundred years, and beyond the edge of the known universe; and spawned the highly successful spin-off Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
In March, Paramount+ announced the fifth season will be the USS Discovery's final mission. We've gathered all the intel on what it'll entail, who's on board, and when you can expect to buckle up and hold on as Michael Burnham and her crew let 'er fly one last time.
What can we expect from the Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 plot?

The visual effects team at “Star Trek: Discovery” are pulling out all the stops for the show’s fifth and final season at Paramount+. In a teaser revealed at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday, Capt. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) finds herself in the midst of a high-speed chase between the U.S.S. Discovery, the U.S.S. Antares and an alien ship.
Oh, did we mention Burham is standing outside the alien ship during the entire chase? Watch the scene in the video above.
The clip starts off with Burham facing off against two smugglers, L’ak and Moll (recurring guest stars Elias Toufexis and Eve Harlow), who are in possession of a powerful alien artifact. Right before they beam away, they throw an explosive at Burham that blows a hole in the hull. Burnham is sucked out into space — but luckily, her environmental suit activates and she makes her...

Astonishing Tales of Terror: Rocktapussy! opens in 1957 when a strange opening in the wall of a mine attracts the attention of a trio of miners. They crawl through to explore but find way more than they expected. The only survivor closes the opening with some convenient dynamite.
In the present Hunter Hazelton has broken a story of corruption in city hall. She had to go undercover as a stripper to do it, which doesn’t seem to have gone over well with her colleagues. Or her father for that matter. “Next time you go undercover, can you be a bit more covered?”
However when a technology demonstration at that same mine awakens the creature we saw in the prologue, what she’s wearing will be the least of her worries,...

Canada-based actor Colm Feore, whose credits include Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy,” “My Salinger Year,” “The Amazing Spiderman 2” and multiple Oscar winner “Chicago,” is to star in post-apocalyptic Western “Six Guns for Hire,” which has just started principal photography in Toronto, Canada. The film also stars Maurice Dean Wint, Oyin Oladejo, and Patrick Kwok-Choon.
“Six Guns for Hire,” the third in a trilogy, is written and directed by Matt Campagna. It follows a vicious group of strangers who gather to divvy up the spoils of a train robbery, while an ace detective pursues hot on their trail. As the bandits realize they may not be strangers after all, the detective unearths a deadly conspiracy at the heart of their crime.
The three stories in the trilogy series, all developed and directed by Campagna, exist within the same post-apocalyptic world, without being traditional sequels or prequels to each other.

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
After giving us the Guardian of Forever in episode 10, it was going to be hard for Star Trek: Discovery to try and top old-school Trekkie nostalgia. Luckily, the final few episodes of Discovery Season 3 aren’t really trying for over-the-top callbacks. Like the episode “Su’Kal,” episode 12 of Season 3 — “There Is a Tide..” — is fairly light on obvious Easter eggs and shout-outs. That said, some of the more subtle Easter eggs connect to much bigger aspects of canon. And, from a certain point of view, aspects of “There Is a Tide…” scan like a Disco remake of a very fun Tng episode!
Baryonic residue
As the Discovery jumps in near Federation HQ, Commander Willa (Vanessa Jackson) tells Admiral Vance (Oded Fehr) that the “baryonic residue” of both Disco and Osyraa’s ship match that of the Verubin Nebula. “Baryonic residue” refers to “the...

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers for “People of Earth” and some decades old episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Despite landing in a future in which the Federation’s influence has been greatly diminished, Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 is shaping up to be far less dark and dystopic than many predicted. In Episode 3, “People of Earth,” the USS Discovery visited the home planet of the Federation, and although that visit was a mixed bag, things did end on a very hopeful note—one that is even more hopeful when you understand the canon significance of a certain giant tree. Here’s why that big tree on the grounds of Starfleet Academy is likely a reference to old stories told by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in The Next Generation...

After weeks of war and conflict, what a pleasure to spend an episode on a familiar narrative: Starfleet officers explore a seemingly uninhabited planet and seek to learn its mysteries. The concept of a planet that is physically in harmony with itself is a fascinating one, and not only is it cool to see Tyler, Burnham, and Saru investigate it, but also investigate it with the express intention to do no harm. Instead, their goal, especially after...
