Director Nikkhil Advani has recalled the shooting experience for the second season of ‘Mumbai Diaries’. The directordescribed it as a dangerous thing. “We had quite a shooting experience this season, it was surely a dangerous thing. The production design of the set had scaffolding everywhere, and one of the particular scenes involved Konkona being trapped in a room flooded in water. To ensure that she had something to hold onto, we literally strapped her to the scaffolding kept in the room,” he said.
Nikkhiladded: “And while we were inside the room, shooting and filling it up with water, we didn’t realise the amount of pressure it was exerting on the walls. We had to jump out of the set as the walls were beginning to give away. All in all, it was all cool and full of adventure, surely making it a fun shooting experience too.”

The second season of the show showcases the struggles faced by the medical fraternity in the fictional Bombay General Hospital as the city suffers a deluge.
Talking about the same, Mohit said, “I had gone to Chembur to a college for a relative who had come to Mumbai for admission. While returning from Chembur, I got stuck at Mumbai’s Carter Road area as heavy rains lashed the city”.
He further mentioned, “As the water started swelling up, I took refuge from the rains in a cafe and was stuck there for 3 days.”

Mumbai Diaries Season 2 (Prime Video)
Starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Mohit Raina, Tina Desai, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Prakash Belawadi, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Riddhi Dogra
Directed by Nikhil Advani
Overlooking the rather strange lacuna in the timeline whereby the second season moves from the terror attack of 26/11/2008 to the monsoonal deluge of 26/7/2005, Mumbai Diaries part 2 is a more intricately sketched portrayal of a city under siege than part 1 which suffered from under-developed characters and over-informed plot developments.
By now we know who’s who at the Bombay General Hospital. They need no introduction, and their function within the disembodied domain of injury and trauma is clearly aligned to the crisis on hand. There is more of Konkona Sen Sharma’s Chitra Das this time than Mohit Raina’s Dr Kaushik Oberoi, the head of trauma who seems pretty traumatized himself.
There are tons of trauma to be negotiated...

Bloody Brothers(Zee5)
Starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Tina Desai, Shruti Seth, Mugdha Godse, Maya Alagh, Satish Kaushik, Asrani
Directed by Shaad Ali
I never thought I would see the day when the lovely Maya Alagh would actually share screen space with Asrani, and that too in circumstances that are not quite….ummm…above board, shall we say?
Ms Alagh whom I’ve always found under-used, makes a comeback after ages as the wily Sheila Aunty, neighbour to an old lonely man played by Asrani (in a cameo) whom Sheila looks out for like all widowed aunties do. Or, so it seems. In the one sequence that they have together we can see some flirting and also some greed and covetousness creeping up onto the screen like a slithering snake slipping up a slumbering sleeve.
Ms Alagh is something else. So, in some ways, is this series. Adapted from BBC’s Guilt,...

EntertainmentIt can be hard to find relatable representations of Indians in international television and online series that don’t reduce the community to stereotypesGeetika MantriMaitreyi Ramakrishnan, Kunal Nayyar, Priyanka ChopraIn the globalised world we live in, it’s not difficult to find multicultural cities and spaces with people from diverse backgrounds living together. However, it’s a different story when it comes to representation and popular culture. While Ott platforms are challenging this to an extent of late, coming up with more diverse and intersectional casts and characters in their original productions, it can be hard to find relatable representations of Indians in international television and online series that don’t reduce the community to stereotypes. Tnm brings you seven Indian characters in international series. Admittedly, most of these characters are privileged and seemingly upper caste, but they do lend some relatability as opposed to stereotypes of brown people in the West.

“Sense8” fans fought hard for a proper ending when Netflix cancelled the series after its second-season cliffhanger. The streaming service didn’t give the show a whole new season to continue its story, but they did greenlight a farewell movie to wrap things up. Titled “Amor Vincit Omnia” (which translates to “Love Conquers All”), it aired last June, and now it’s in the race for Emmys, where it could earn up to 24 nominations. Scroll down for its complete list of Emmy submissions.
“Pose” could make history in drama categories with its unprecedented representation of transgender talent in front of and behind the camera, and “Sense8” could do the same in long form categories. Jamie Clayton has been singled out among her group of psychically linked heroes for consideration as a lead actress, while series co-creator Lana Wachowski was put forward for writing and directing — both women are trans.

The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 21 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12.
All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 24 to cast their 2019 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017 that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Upon hearing the news that my beloved “Sense8” was cancelled by Netflix after last season, I was left reeling, along with the rest of the shows die-hard fan base. We kept thinking there is no way that they can just leave things how they were, especially when the show had just reached a pivotal story arc and all of our senseates in the cluster were finally at long last together.
Due to the extreme dedication of fans, it was announced that Netflix and director/creator Lana Wachowski had reached an agreement to air a much deserved series finale to both appease fans and assist with tying up the show’s many loose ends. Let’s just say it did not disappoint! Wachowski delivered a true gift to fans and in my opinion one of the best series finales I have seen in recent years.

After two full seasons and now a feature-length series finale, one fact about “Sense8” remains unchallenged: The Netflix drama has always felt like a bit of a miracle, as far as shows about psychically connected strangers being hunted by an evil corporation are concerned.
As easy as it might be to boil the premise down to its most essential points, this is a show has always contained multitudes of weirdness, as the eight central characters of the series pursue their own life goals while also contending with the life-threatening stakes on the rise. Because the writers have made use of Netflix’s flexible runtimes to craft extended sequences that simply focus on character over narrative, “Sense8” has emerged as the sort of show which could probably exist nowhere else but Netflix, genre-bending in the best way possible.

Netflix has released the first trailer for the big highly anticipated finale for The Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski's Sense8. After Netflix canceled the series, fan outcry caused them to reevaluate their decision and they ended up letting the creative team develop a two-hour finale, which was pretty cool. Now we have our first look at what we can expect from that finale.

Those characters consist of Capheus (Toby Onwumere), Kala (Tina Desai), Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre), Nomi (Jamie Clayton), Riley (Tuppence Middleton) , Sun (Donna Bae), Will (Brian J. As you can see in the gallery down below, the show will return to tie up all its loose ends on June 8th, giving fans the chance to get some closure before they say goodbye to their favorite characters. In fact, it’s that very fanbase that we have to thank for this series finale in the first place, as when Sense8 got the axe, they launched a petition in a last-ditch attempt to sway Netflix’s decision. “Personal lives are pushed aside as the cluster, their sidekicks, and some unexpected allies band together for a rescue mission and Bpo take-down in order to protect the future of all Sensates.

Canned Netflix original Sense8 is returning in 2018 for a two-hour finale, that much we know, but we now have an awesome behind the scenes promo to tease it, one which gathers all of the wonderful sensates that captured our imagination over the course of two seasons.
It’s by no means the first Netflix original to be given the axe – The Get Down, Marco Polo, Bloodline, and Girlboss have all been yanked off the streaming service in recent months. But because of Sense8‘s dedicated fanbase, one which quickly launched a petition in a last-ditch attempt to sway Netflix’s decision, it’s rather fitting that the online giant has committed to a two-hour special in 2018 to send off the sensates in style.

For those looking for proof of what fandom can achieve, behold: The script for the “‘Sense8 Special,” which will wrap up the fan favorite Netflix drama following its abrupt cancelation this spring, physically exists!
While initially canceled following the release of Season 2, fan outcry led Netflix to reverse that decision and produce a two-hour finale, and as seen in the Instagram photo above from star Miguel Angel Silvestre (who plays no-longer-closeted movie star Lito on the show), watermarked scripts have been distributed to the actors.
Beyond proof-of-life, the cover page reveals a number of important details about the upcoming production. For one thing, Lana J. Wachowski (the first time she’s used the letter J with her name?) is credited with writing the script alongside David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon. Both men are novelists, with Mitchell having a pre-established connection to the Wachowski tribe: He wrote the original novel “Cloud Atlas,...

As you’ve surely heard by now, Netflix has reached its unfortunate decision regarding the fate of Sense8. Despite an overwhelmingly positive reaction to May’s premiere, the show’s second season will indeed be its last. Yes, it’s true, the series was cancelled a few months back and to date, no one has stepped in to save it.
First hatched by renown filmmakers Lana and Lilly Wachowski – along with co-creator J. Michael Straczynski – Sense8 began life in 2015, when Netflix had already established a string of bankable heavyweights in the vein of House of Cards and female-fronted hit Orange is the New Black. Faced with near-insurmountable odds, the cult sci-fi series managed to carve out an audience to call its own, even if the viewing figures for season 2 didn’t warrant a renewal.

This is huge news, given the storylines left unresolved. Until today, it seemed likely that current fans as well as future Netflix subscribers who might discover the show would be left with an unsatisfying cliffhanger as the final moments of “Sense8.”
It’s something Wachowski fully attributes to the power of the show’s fandom. “By myself, there was nothing I could do,” Wachowski writes in the letter. “But just as the...

It’s been just over two weeks since fans of Netflix’s most odd, original and heartfelt TV show found out that the streaming giant would not be renewing “Sense8” for a third season. In those two weeks, many petitions have been sent and many protests raised, to the point where Netflix had to release a follow-up statement to fans explaining that it really did try to bring the show back, but “unfortunately we can’t.”
However, they should. They really, really should, at least in the form of a feature-length film, as we first saw suggested by redditor PrivateFrank, but echoing other shows that received a post-cancellation one-off conclusion following their release. Below are the reasons why it makes sense for Netflix to do it — for the fans, for the creators and for Netflix itself.

The cluster will just have to live on in our imaginations.
On the heels of the news that Netflix has decided to cancel “Sense8” after only two seasons comes a healthy bit of outrage and sadness from fans. The show that meant so much to so many people has been snuffed in its adolescence just as it was testing its wings and settling into what it meant to be.
While the majority of Season 1 was spent in world-building and getting to know the central eight who shared a psychic bond, in Season 2, the cluster — Capheus (Toby Onwumere), Kala (Tina Desai), Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre), Nomi (Jamie Clayton), Riley (Tuppence Middleton) , Sun (Doona Bae), Will (Brian J. Smith) and Wolfgang (Max Riemelt) — were working in concert to help each other and experience their collective highs and lows. The possibilities of where the story could go from here were endless.

It doesn't look like we're getting Sense8 season 3 after all. Netflix has cancelled the show...
Even if the cluster scored a major victory at the end of season two, the characters of Sense8 won't get to enjoy it. Netflix just cancelled the streaming drama after two seasons.
Cindy Holland, Netflix's vice president of original content, said to The Hollywood Reporter that, “after 23 episodes, 16 cities, and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end."
She went on to thank the creators, cast, and fans for their love and support of the show.
"It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable. Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world.

Not even a month has passed since the premiere of season 2 and already, Netflix has reached its decision regarding the fate of Sense8.
First reported by Deadline, it’s been announced that, despite an overwhelmingly positive reaction to last month’s premiere, the show’s second season will indeed be its last. A big-budget show in the vein of Sense8 – coupled with its lengthy production process and costly VFX – meant that Lana and Lilly Wachowski’s series, one created in tandem with J. Michael Straczynski, really needed to hit the big leagues in order to be considered a success.
Alas, despite garnering something of a cult following, Sense8 never quite reached the dizzying heights of, say, Orange is the New Black or House of Cards, and the result is a cancellation that many fans will no doubt consider to be premature.
Here’s the official word from Netflix VP of original content,...

“Angie Tribeca,” 10:30 p.m., TBS
Episode Title: “This Sounds Unbelievable, But ‘CSI: Miami’ Did It”
Network Synopsis: Natalie Portman’s in this one, but also a man falls from the sky and the team investigates a lead in space.
Why You Should Watch: The Oscar winner alone is worth the tuning in, just to see her embody a modern-day Nasa scientist who looks, sounds and acts like a ‘60s housewife. According to IndieWire critic Ben Travers’ review: “Portman grasps the tone quickly and then runs away with the scene, her soft inflections and glowing expressions creating a beam of light gliding through the scene.” The episode reaches new heights of lunacy, and not just because some of the action takes place in space. Also, a bonus visit to the Acme Corporation, a favorite of the tenacious Wile E. Coyote, pays off richly in visual gags.
