Paul Rudd, he’ll have you know, is not a method actor. But that didn’t stop the “Living With Yourself” star from exhibiting a few character-specific traits — when the cameras weren’t rolling — during production on the new Netflix series.
The show centers around a burnt-out, dissatisfied suburbanite named Miles Elliot (Rudd) who attempts to get his mojo back via a strip mall massage parlor. Instead, Miles finds himself with a significantly unhappy ending, waking in a shallow grave and discovering he’s been replaced by, well, himself.
Created by Tim Greenberg and helmed by “Little Miss Sunshine” directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the show serves as a perfect showcase for Rudd to display both the breadth and depth of his acting ability, playing two similar, but different versions of Miles throughout the first season’s eight episodes.

In his latest project, Netflix's Living With Yourself, Paul Rudd follows in the footsteps of Armie Hammer, Lisa Kudrow and Lindsay Lohan in the ultimate acting test — working opposite himself.
"I had never done anything like it," Rudd, 50, tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I think any actor wants to challenge themselves and try new things, and certainly I viewed it as that."
In the eight-episode dramedy series, created by Tim Greenberg, Rudd stars as Miles Elliot, a depressed man frustrated with his life who undergoes an experimental spa treatment in hopes of becoming happy. The treatment ...

Living With Yourself is a Netflix original starring Paul Rudd alongside other great actors such as Paul Rudd (as he plays his clone) and Aisling Bea. This is a very unusual and strange series that follows the life of Miles Elliot who ends up going to a spa to be cloned for him to live his best life. This is a show with strong language and scenes which means it is not family-friendly, instead it’s a show for a more mature and serious audience.
The show opens in a very strange way, with a man emerging from the ground with what appears to be a plastic bag over his head. This is a very unusual way to start a series but it does exactly what it needs to do - be a shock opening; so shocking that it catches the attention of the audience but also is a subtle...

For a lot of people, Netflix’s “Living With Yourself” has turned the perfect dream into the perfect live-action reality: Two Paul Rudds, no waiting. The series — about a sad sack named Miles Elliot (Rudd), who undergoes a mysterious spa treatment and comes out the other side with a superior version of himself (Rudd) — has brought the A-list actor to the small screen once more in a starring role, this time with double the Rudd, double the fun.
Only, for both Miles and New Miles, this isn’t fun or a dream: It’s an absolute nightmare, one that culminates in a fight scene between Rudd’s Miles and Rudd’s New Miles in the season finale.
Vulture recently spoke with series creator Timothy Greenberg, Rudd, co-directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, and stage and screen choreographers the Kuperman brothers about how exactly that fight came to be, from the...

If anyone's looking for another reason to get excited about the latest Spidey flick, say hello to Miles Elliot. He's joined the cast of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Miles plays Billy Connor, the son of Spiderman's nemesis "The Lizard" and bears a striking resemblance to his older co-star and on-screen dad, Rhys Ifan. Word is, he's also a talented actor. In addition to his appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man, he just scored his first leading role in the film Camp as a troubled and abused child who's sent to a healing camp to recover. At the tender age of 11, Miles has already made several TV appearances on such shows as Grey's Anatomy (TV), The Mentalist (TV), Austin & Ally (TV), and Big Time Rush (TV) and also has three or four short films under his belt. We recently sat down with Miles to...

The Amazing Spider-Man Plot Synopsis has been released. Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) plot synopsis is touted by Sony Pictures as featuring “ untold story of Peter Parker’s early years.” It would have to be since the public has already and recently (in movie terms) seen an Spider-Man origin story.
The official plot synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man:
One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Trailer. Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) teaser trailer stars Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, and Rhys Ifans. The Amazing Spider-Man‘s plot synopsis: The reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise, the film features the origin story of Spider-Man as he faces a new villain, The Lizard.

The Amazing Spider-Man‘s plot synopsis: The reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise, the film features the origin story of Spider-Man as he faces a new villain, The Lizard.
I was not in favor of the Spider-Man franchise being rebooted (written about here: Spiderman 4 is Dunzo, All Hail the 2012 Reboot) and after seeing this bootleg teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, I still am not. I foresee the film wasting a good forty minutes on Spider-Man’s past and his new found abilities, material which we have already seen before. The same story retold again with new elements, the high school back-drop is even used again it seems. Its too bad Spider-Man couldn’t just have his powers and the film starts from there.

I know there has been a lot of set photos and videos coming out of the Spider-Man set, but this is one worth watching. It features Spider-Man swinging through traffic on wires. It's actually kind of cool to see an actual human being flying through the air, as opposed to a computer generated superhero. Can't wait to see what this looks like in the film. Video found via: Shockya [1] Previously: The cast includes Andrew Garfield [2] as Peter Parker and Spider-Man (well, a couple stuntmen and many computers will also be Spider-Man) and then Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Sally Field as Aunt May, and Denis Leary as the father of Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Campbell Scott (Roger Dodger, The Spanish Prisoner) and Julianne Nicholson (Kinsey, Little Black Book) as Parker’s parents, Richard and Mary Parker, who leave their son an orphan. Chris Zylka will play Flash Thompson.

With Spider-Man shooting in La there is now no shortage of spy pics of Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield's version of the hero in action. We've seen a couple [1] looks [2] at the suit [3] in the last week and a bunch more have cropped up online. Some are after the break, including the ones that will likely interest fans the most: images that show the hero doing a bit of trademark web-swinging. On Location Vacations [4] has the swinging photos, a few of which are in the gallery below. [gallery columns="2"] And Marie Claire [5] has these looks at the suit, which show a bit more detail than we've previously seen. We've got a better look at the mask and the webbing and spider detail on the costume. We don't know if that is actually Andrew Garfield in the suit or a stunt man. Previously: The cast includes Andrew Garfield [6] as Peter Parker and Spider-Man (well,...

Click on the image to enlarge.I'm guessing that Sony is gearing up to start shooting sequences with the suit in public locations, and have decided to release a good clean image of the costume before some crappy paparazzi image gets leaked. I think Andrew looks Perfect as Parker in the suit, although the gear looks a bit too glittery for my tastes (however, I'm sure I'll quickly get use to it). What do you think? Comment below! Casting child actors is no easy task, particularly when said child actor needs to play a family member or younger version of one of the adult characters. Taking both looks and talent into consideration, the latter generally wins out but means that the young character has actually no physical likeness to the older actors. In the case of Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot, they absolutely nailed it. Superhero Hype has revealed that actor Miles Elliot has been hired to play the role of Curt Connors' son, Billy, in Sony's restart of their webslinger franchise. Curt, of course, is being played by Rhys Ifans and if you compare his photo with the photo on the right you'll notice that they got it spot on. Obviously young, Elliot has appeared in four short films this year and, most recently, was in an episode of Grey's Anatomy. The film is currently shooting in...

Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender, who teamed once already for the excellent film Hunger, are gearing up to make Shame, about a man unable to manage his sex life. Now Carey Mulligan has joined the cast as the sister of Mr. Fassbender's character. That's all we've got right now, but the basic talent line-up and the subject matter, which seems to have a Palahniuk leaning, puts this high on my anticipated list for 2011. Shame shoots in New York in January. [Deadline [1]] After the break, more cast for The Hangover Part II and Spider-Man, as well as a star for the new series adapting novel series The Mortal Instruments. Filming on Marc Webb’s Spider-man reboot is officially underway, but that doesn’t mean casting is done yet. Two more actors have now signed on to the film.
First up, is Miles Elliot (Grey’s Anatomy, Go Go Reject), who Super Hero Hype says will be playing the son of Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard (Rhys Ifans), Billy Connors. It was reported back in October (here) that Sony was looking for a young actor to portray Billy and a young Peter Parker. This is probably being done as to make a better connection between Connors and Parker that will lead to each other facing off against each other.
The other casting news is more of a confirmation than anything new. It was reported a few weeks ago that Chris Zylka (Super Psycho Sweet 16) was rumored to play the role of Eugene “Flash” Thompson. The Wrap now confirms that casting.

Chris Zylka and Miles Elliot have joined the cast of the Spider-Man reboot as Flash Thompson and Billy Connors. Chris Zylka's Flash Thompson was recently revealed in set pictures featuring Emma Stone as Gwem Stacy. The actor hinted at playing the role via his Twitter but it's officially been confirmed by The Wrap to be true. Flash Thompson is a star football player at Peter Parker's school. Flash would constantly bully Peter Parker but he also greatly admires the hero Spider-Man, who is the alter ego of Parker. After graduation, Flash joins the Army and gains experience in combat which leads to his problem with alcoholism. Later on in the series, Flash and Peter become friends.
