Acclaimed cinematographer Justin Janowitz has finished post-production on his secretive feature directorial debut Do Not Watch, and we’ve got your first look.
The film – which was directed by Janowitz from a screenplay by Ryan Toyama, was shot on location in and around the environs of Los Angeles. Produced by Circa 1888’s Jp Ouellette, Dylan Matlock, and Nico Falls, Do Not Watch is their follow-up to the critically acclaimed, BAFTA & Saturn Award nominated feature Mass, which world premiered at Sundance in 2021 and went on to win the Robert Altman Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

With fans eagerly anticipating the US release of Terrifier 2, Catherine Corcoran of the cult favorite slasher Terrifier has signed on to star in the horror film Do Not Watch, Deadline reported.

When “Trees of Peace,” a drama set during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, surged into the top 10 English-language films on Netflix in June, some may have been amazed that a low-budget, albeit critically acclaimed indie was among the most-watched movies of the week. But executive producer Nicole Avant (“The Black Godfather”) wasn’t among them.
“It was incredible. I was surprised how quickly it got so much attention, but I wasn’t surprised,” Avant tells Variety about learning that the film racked up more than 9.3 million hours viewed in those first few days.
To Avant, the numbers indicated that audiences was ready for and interested in stories like this, despite its heavy subject matter.
“We’ve all felt pretty beaten up for many years, with all this social unrest happening in the United States and everywhere around the world, and just so much negativity,” she explains. “Then here comes this film about strength,...

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to Alanna Brown’s drama about the genocide in Rwanda Trees Of Peace.
The film won the top three jury prizes at American Black Film Festival including the John Singleton Award for best first feature and earned the top jury award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival after it premiered there last year.
Trees Of Peace is inspired by actual events and follows four women from different backgrounds who forge an unbreakable bond while trapped during the violence in Rwanda in 1994. Netflix plans to debut the film this summer.

Grady, whose day job is acquisitions coordinator at Umbrella Entertainment, has bought a 2-year option for the film rights to the Wheelers. story. He.s talking to prospective writers and directors and envisions a road movie set in the 1970s.
English-born Wheeler, a former automotive engineer, and his wife published their first travel guide, Across Asia on the Cheap, after an overland trip from Europe to Asia and then to Australia in 1972.
Grady says the film will look at the Wheelers. experiences in countries such as Afghanistan, Nepal and Bali. Tony Wheeler has agreed to serve as a consultant. Grady will seek development funding from Film Victoria and/or Screen Australia to nurture the project over the next 12 months.
