Netflix is staying in business with Dragon, renewing its father-son comedy Unstable for an eight-episode second season, TVLine has learned.
Unstable stars Rob Lowe as Ellis Dragon, a “universally admired, eccentric, narcissist-adjacent biotech entrepreneur working to make the world a better place,” per Netflix’s official logline. To complicate matters further, Dragon is in an “emotional free-fall,” and his only hope may rest in his polar-opposite son Jackson Dragon (played by Lowe’s real-life son John Owen Lowe).

Unstable, the Netflix comedy starring Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe, is heading back into production for its second season with a new showrunner.
Andrew Gurland, creator of FX’s Married, has replaced Victor Fresco as showrunner for the second season of the series after its renewal by Netflix for another eight episodes.
Production will begin later this month after it was interrupted by the writers strike back in May. Production on the second season started in late March and shut down at the start of May.
Unstable follows an introverted son (John Owen Lowe) who goes to work for his very successful, wildly eccentric father (Rob Lowe) in order to save him and his successful biotech company from disaster. It is inspired by Rob and John Owen Lowe’s social media relationship, in which John Owen often humorously trolls his dad.

“Central Park,” the hit animated musical comedy series from Apple TV+, will return for its third season on Friday, September 9. Original cast member Kristen Bell is returning to star in Season 3 in the new role of Abby, Paige’s little sister.
In Season 1, Bell voiced Owen (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Paige’s (Kathryn Hahn) mixed raced daughter Molly, but she exited the series in 2020 because she believed it unjust for her to voice a biracial character.
“Casting a mixed race character w/a white actress undermines the specificity of the mixed race & Black American experience,” Bell’s statement read at the time.
From creator, writer and executive producer Loren Bouchard, Josh Gad and Nora Smith, the 13-episode third season of “Central Park” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with three episodes. It will be followed by one episode weekly every Friday through November 18.

“Bait”, the second episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, was an exciting course correction for the series after a disappointing premiere. But declaring Ash vs Evil Dead a success based on that episode might have been premature.
