The good news is, Jason Katims thinks a Parenthood revival is likely to happen. The bad news is, it will probably be, "...down the road a few years," the series creator told TV Line. The series starred: Peter Krause, Lauren Graham, Dax Shepard, Monica Potter, Erika Christensen, Sam Jaeger, Savannah Paige Rae, Max Burkholder, Joy Bryant, and Miles Heizer. The news outlet spoke to Katims last week, during the TCA summer press tour, in the session for his new CBS medical drama Pure Genius starring Augustus Prew and Dermot Mulroney. TV Line reports, "Katims would neither confirm or deny our report. He did, however, note, 'There’s nothing happening right now, but when the time is right I would love to revisit it'."Read More…...

Now this would be something to include in the Thanksgiving Day blessing. It seems last year, NBC considered making a two-hour holiday-themed Parenthood TV show reunion movie. No word if creator Jason Katims would have been involved. Reportedly, it could still happen in the future.
The Parenthood TV series cast includes: Peter Krause, Lauren Graham, Dax Shepard, Monica Potter, Erika Christensen, Sam Jaeger, Savannah Paige Rae, Max Burkholder, Joy Bryant, Miles Heizer, Mae Whitman, Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, Tyree Brown, Sarah Ramos, Xolo Maridueña, and Ray Romano.

A few thoughts on last night's momentous "Grey's Anatomy" coming up just as soon as the second chair cello boy doesn't count... Whenever I write or tweet about "Grey's Anatomy" — as I did last night, upon seeing the news about the show killing off Derek — inevitably some clever person feels the need to ask, "Is that still on?" Yes, "Grey's" is an old show — it debuted in the same TV season as "Lost," "Veronica Mars," "House," "Desperate Housewives" and a whole lot of others that didn't last nearly as long as this series' 11 seasons and counting — but it still remains one of ABC's most successful dramas, and one of the higher-rated dramas on TV, period. It's going to be around as long as Shonda Rhimes wants it to be. And though I stopped watching a couple of years ago more due to time constraints than anything the "Grey's" itself did,...

It's hard to type these words, "Parenthood" fans, but there are only six episodes left in the final season of the critically-acclaimed NBC family drama left. Yes, one of our favorite TV family's story is coming to a close shortly, so prepare to say goodbye to those beloved Bravermans.
The timing is bittersweet, but the show celebrated its 100th episode last week with a ceremonial cake cutting (look at that edible family tree!), and we were there to talk to some of the cast and producers about their favorite story lines, what to expect in the show's final hours, and their ultimate hopes for how it's all going to end.
Creator Jason Katims touched on if the 100th episode will contain some milestone moments, saying, "The 100th episode is even more realistic. It's an usual episode. It deals with Zeek's health but it's unusual in that it's a very compressed time period,...

Things were a little touch and go for awhile but NBC has now renewed Parenthood for a sixth season. It will be the last season and the cast and crew will have 13 episodes to say goodbye.
Parenthood revolves around the lives of the extended Braverman family in Northern California. The ensemble cast includes Lauren Graham, Dax Shepard, Tyree Brown, Joy Bryant, Max Burkholder, Erika Christensen, Miles Heizer, Sam Jaeger, Monica Potter, Savannah Paige Rae, Xolo Mariduena, Mae Whitman, with Bonnie Bedelia and Craig T. Nelson.
The series has never been a ratings hit for NBC but it has remained a pretty consistent performer with a devoted fanbase. This season, the ratings took a pretty dramatic downturn, dropping 20-30% compared to the fourth season. Shows like Revolution, Growing Up Fisher, and Believe all had better ratings but they were cancelled.

Sounds like there's some trouble over at the Braverman house. Deadline reports that the show may be cancelled over salary and cost-cutting measures.
Airing on NBC since 2010, Parenthood revolves around the lives of the extended Braverman family in Northern California. The ensemble cast includes Lauren Graham, Dax Shepard, Tyree Brown, Joy Bryant, Max Burkholder, Erika Christensen, Miles Heizer, Sam Jaeger, Monica Potter, Savannah Paige Rae, Xolo Mariduena, Mae Whitman, with Bonnie Bedelia and Craig T. Nelson.
Word is that NBC wants to renew the show for a final season of 13 episodes. To cut costs, the network/studio has asked the large cast to reduce their episode guarantee from 13 to nine episodes. That would mean that they'd potentially only appear in and be paid for nine installments.
Reportedly, they don't want to do that and the cast and studio are at...

It's been a very emotional fourth season of "Parenthood," but when the finale airs tonight (Tuesday, January 22 at 10 p.m. Est on NBC), fans will be satisfied, says the show's creator, Jason Katims.
"There are definitely some emotional moments and there's a lot of resolution in the season finale," Katims told The Hollywood Reporter. "I think the way the show ends has a very beautiful montage at the end, which came out really great. I think it'll be very satisfying. I can't predict the amount of Kleenex, but I'm proud of the episode."
As you prepare your Kleenex, watch two sneak peeks of the "Parenthood" Season 4 finale below.
In the first, Sydney (Savannah Paige Rae) gets brutally honest with her parents Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) about how she feels about her potential new step-brother Victor (Xolo Mariduena).

On "Parenthood," Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) have been struggling with adopting 9-year-old Victor (Xolo Mariduena), who's made it more than clear that he's not a fan of his new mom. (He called child services on Julia, continues to compare her to his "real mom" and refuses to eat anything she cooks.)
When we left them at the end of last week's episode, it was clear Joel and Julia were not in agreement about whether or not to proceed with the adoption, especially after he threw a bat at their birth daughter Sydney (Savannah Paige Rae).
(Click here for more from Christensen's TV husband, Sam Jaeger.)
Below, Erika Christensen opens up to HuffPost TV about whether or not Joel and Julia will get on the same page by the end of Season 4, why Mae Whitman (a.k.a. "Parenthood's" Amber) should be winning Emmys, a scene between...

Unfortunately, Parenthood has never been a hit TV show in the ratings. Fortunately, the numbers have been good enough to keep it from being cancelled each year. Will the Braverman family's luck hold out? Time will tell.
An ensemble family drama, the cast includes Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Erika Christensen, Joy Bryant, Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Max Burkholder, Miles Heizer, Monica Potter, Peter Krause, Sam Jaeger, Sarah Ramos, Savannah Paige Rae, and Tyree Brown.
Season four of Parenthood typically airs on Tuesdays nights at 10pm on the NBC network. They've ordered 15 episodes.
These are the TV show's ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Parenthood is going to be cancelled or renewed for season five.

Although Julia and Joel have managed to get Victor to open up a bit during the fourth season of Parenthood, there's still a lot of work to do in order to make him feel accepted, comfortable, and safe in the Braverman/Graham household. Joining the baseball team might not have been the end of the world and Julia showed her love for her son by waiting for him all day in the school parking lot, but now that Julia is out of work, it's time for her to put forth even more effort in finding the things that make Victor happy.

Parenthood has gone ahead and cast an actress responsible for playing Kate Austen, one of Lost’s most memorable – and often times hated – characters. But in a fun little twist, this casting does not refer to Evangeline Lilly, who played Kate throughout Lost’s six seasons, but of little Emily Evan Rae, who played a young Kate just once in the Season 5 finale, where she was instantly more likable than Lilly ever was when playing the character. While I enjoy talking smack about Lilly, this isn’t a story about her or Lost, but of Parenthood. So let’s move ahead and try not to be distracted by the temptations brought on by trash talking a poor Canadian actress.
According to TVLine, Rae was been brought on for a multiple episode arc on Parenthood as a student council member who will be working with Max starting in Episode 9. Don’t...

My Parenthood-related predisposition towards tears will be tested like never before in tonight's all-new episode, which picks up following the shocking revelation that Kristina Braverman will battle breast cancer this season. And only one man was capable of directing such a deeply personal and hugely important episode: series star Sam Jaeger!
The only downside to Sam taking the reigns for tonight's episode is that we'll get far less of Joel & Julia's storyline -- although, as Sam told me, there are major bumps ahead in the coming weeks for the newly adoptive parents.

We have lots of tidbits today relating to Season 7 of Showtime's "Dexter" such as the new promo poster, a behind-the-scenes still provided by co-star Jennifer Carpenter, and some casting news that includes a pretty big name we haven't heard mentioned yet.

By now, it's no secret to "Parenthood" fans that Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Jasmine (Joy Bryant) are finally having their long-awaited wedding this week, but when we visited the set earlier this month and watched them shoot the wedding scenes, it was still a top-secret affair. You wouldn't have known it, though, from the casual vibe on set.

This week's episode of "Parenthood" (Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Est on NBC) certainly brought a lot of tears, but the ensemble cast made up for it by releasing an adorable, smile-worthy music video set to a cover of Lfo's "Girl On TV," which Teen Vogue exclusively posted.
Musician Landon Pigg -- who is dating "Parenthood" star Mae Whitman, who plays Amber on the hour-long drama -- did a cover of the 1999 boy band hit and the Whitman's fellow cast members stepped in to make an accompanying music video.
Pairing off, the video mainly features Whitman, Miles Heizer (Amber's brother, Drew), Bonnie Bedelia (their grandmother Camille), Craig T. Nelson (her husband Zeek, the "Parenthood" patriarch), Savannah Paige Rae (Braverman cousin Sydney) and scene-stealer Tyree Brown (Jabbar, another Braverman cousin).
Long-time guest star Michael B. Jordan also lends some rapping skills to the track with his on-again-off-again on-screen girlfriend Sarah Ramos dancing in the background.

"Parenthood" fans are already familiar with singer-songwriter Landon Pigg. Not only have many of his songs served as background music to tearjerker scenes, but he also appeared as himself this season for a cameo at The Luncheonette, the recording studio owned by Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Adam (Peter Krause).
Now, as Season 3 winds down, Pigg has released this super-awesome video including the "Parenthood" cast, which you can watch below. It's a cover of Lfo's "Girl On TV."

Season three of Parenthood has been all about new beginnings, but it was no more abundantly clear than last night, as Kristina gave birth to a baby girl named Nora with Crosby in the delivery room. Now's the time when things get more interesting, since a new baby will certainly have ramifications that affect the rest of the family as a whole and Nora was born to two tightly wound perfectionists that have barely been holding it together these days.

One of the most interesting things about this season of Parenthood is that the plots that were introduced at the tail end of season two are being wrapped up fairly quickly. Instead of stretching, say, Kristina's pregnancy or Julia's search for a baby for the entire 18 episode span of the season, Parenthood has chosen to focus not on the event itself but on the aftermath of the event and what effect the event has on the family unit.
On next Tuesday's episode, it looks like we'll finally get to meet the newest Braverman and, as expected, she has to make an entrance.

Tuesday's episode of Parenthood took the baton from the solid, transitional premiere and ran with it, presenting 42 minutes of plot development that launched us into the next phase of each respective Braverman's life. Sarah and Mark are over the moon, despite some initial trepidation; Adam and Crosby are finally following their dreams and pursuing a career path that could be fulfilling as well as lucrative; and Julia is trying to find any bit of rope to hold onto in her quest to adopt a baby.
In "Step Right Up", the upcoming third episode of the 16 episode season, it seems that change will continue to be the name of the game for Team Braverman. This time, though, it's all about adjusting to the differences in your life and making due with what you've got.

On Tuesday, Parenthood returned for its 16 episode third season with an episode that encapsulated all that is good about the show. After an extended hiatus, we were thrust back into the lives of the Braverman family, where Adam is thinking about a career change, Julia wants to adopt a baby from the coffee girl at work, Crosby still isn't over Jasmine, and Sarah's trying to come to terms with turning 40, losing her child, and reuniting with a former flame. Not to mention, we've already seen arrests, a dance party, and the emergence of Drunk Haddie, and it's only episode one.
With a series of new storylines opened up in "I Don't Want to Do This Without You", where could things go for Team Braverman?

For all the talk of plot spoilers, casting decisions, and short on-air promos, there's nothing that beats an episode description, right? You can hear about the elements of a show, but it takes actually reading (and moreso seeing) how they fit together to really have an impact.
Parenthood, which will be one of the first network shows to premiere this fall, has had a pretty steady trickling of spoilers during the latter part of this summer. Everything from new love interests to business ventures to multiple baby news has been circulating online, but the season premiere episode description and title have officially been released and boy, does it ramp up the excitement.

We reported yesterday that NBC was working on renewing Parenthood for a third season. The deal is apparently done now, ensuring that the Braverman family will be back in primetime next season. There hasn't been official confirmation about how many episodes have been ordered yet.
The renewal is actually a no-brainer, especially considering the state of the rest of NBC's schedule. Parenthood has lost viewers over the last couple seasons but still ranks as the second-highest rated drama on the the network. This season has averaged a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.34 million viewers.
Loosely based on a 1989 movie of the same name, Parenthood stars Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Erika Christensen, Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Max Burkholder, Miles Heizer, Monica Potter, Peter Krause, Sam Jaeger, Sarah Ramos, and Savannah Rae.

I took a sabbatical last week, mostly since there wasn’t much hitting shelves worth talking about. Now I’ve returned to get hyped over pretty awesome movies. Hit the jump to see what’s hit DVD and Blu-ray in the last two weeks:
Grab ‘Em Right Away:
Stardust (Blu-ray)
Directed by: Matthew Vaughn
Written by: Jane Goldman, Matthew Vaughn & Neil Gaiman
Starring: Claire Daines, Ian McKellen, Charlie Cox, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro & Mark Strong
Why Should you buy this? It’s the best fantasy action film in the last decade. Matthew Vaughn was able to take the style of films like The Princess Bride and bring it back for children of today to enjoy. It has one of my favourite De Niro characters of the last decade as well. It’s hard for me to put into words how much this movie makes me smile every time I watch it.

The stars of NBC and its sister networks stopped by their TCA Summer soiree Friday night in Beverly Hills. Jimmy Fallon was happy to dish to us about working with a very "shy" Robert Pattinson and his hosting plans for the Emmys, which he said will leave us all surprised. Brad Goreski from The Rachel Zoe Project told us all about how much fun they had filming The Zoeinator with FabSugarTV. He said when the show returns, the Rz team will face the emotional aftermath of Taylor's exit and take on an exciting up-and-coming actress as a client this season. He wasn't naming names, but promised she'll be a "huge" star. We also had the chance to catch up with actors from several soon-to-premiere new series during the evening, like The Event, Law and Order: Los Angeles and Undercovers. Skeet Ulrich, who stars as a police officer on the...

One more show off the bubble: NBC has renewed its freshman drama "Parenthood" for next season.
The network announced Tuesday (April 20) that the well-reviewed series, which has drawn decent if unspectacular ratings since its March premiere, will be back for 2010-11. It joins the network's Thursday comedy block in the safe column.
"We are so happy to welcome back this multi-layered and compelling series about an extended American family for another season," NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad says. "It's gratifying that 'Parenthood' continues to garner critical acclaim and is generating highly positive reaction from viewers, thanks to the fearless creativity of its producers and the extraordinary performances delivered by its ensemble cast."
So far this season "Parenthood" is averaging 7.8 million viewers per week and a respectable 3.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, which is NBC's primary ratings measuring stick. Both numbers are solid improvements over the Tuesday edition...
