Jfr Productions, one of the producers of Dick Johnson & Tommygun Vs the Cannibal Cop and Johnny Gruesome has just finished his newest project, a feature length holiday rubber monster movie called Humbug. When the pandemic hit the world of filmmaking was sent into a tailspin and this experiment in improvisation is a direct result of that.
John Renna in association with Jason John Beebe has been secretly working on a no budget send up to little rubber monster movies that is Almost Entirely Improvised and they have the first look at the new trailer.
A normal guy (Renna) is bitten by a rare insect while looking for Christmas decorations to bloody and sometimes hilarious consequences. He is slowly transformed into a walking incubation chamber with a penchant for blood(and condiments). The man’s personality, wants and desires are replaced by an insect-like instinct to survive. The creature is attracted to food,...

Written and directed by Gregory Lamberson (who also helmed the fantastic Johnny Gruesome), and based on the book by Billy & Richard Chizmar, Widow’s Point is an old-school haunted house tale – only set in a lighthouse – which tells the story of Thomas Livingston, an author desperate for a hit, who spends a weekend locked in a haunted lighthouse as a publicity stunt for his next book. As Livingston delves into the lighthouse’s terrifying history, he is targeted by powerful supernatural forces…

"Something is wrong here..." 101 Films has released an official trailer for an indie supernatural thriller titled Widow's Point, adapted from the book of the same name. This originally premiered at a few small genre festivals last year. Widow's Point follows a writer who spends a weekend locked in a haunted lighthouse to help promote his next book, where he is targeted by supernatural forces. Of course - haunted houses usually are haunted! Ha. Craig Sheffer stars in this as Thomas Livingston, along with KateLynn E. Newberry, Dominic Luongo, Kaelin Lamberson, and John Renna. This sounds like it could be thrilling, but the footage in this trailer is really bad. Then again, it's direct-to-dvd so it's not that surprising it looks this bad. Here's the new official trailer (+ poster) for Greg Lamberson's Widow's Point, direct from YouTube: An author named Thomas Livingston (Craig Sheffer) spends a weekend locked in...

Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast, the feature film debut of screenwriter, director, and actor Sam Qualiana, has been acquired for worldwide distribution by Independent Entertainment, part of the Alternative Cinema network. The deal includes DVD, VOD, cable, and digital downloads.
“This is a real achievement for everyone involved with Snow Shark,” says Gregory Lamberson, one of the film’s producers. “As many filmmakers have come to realize, the market for independent genre films is brutal, and obtaining distribution can seem like an impossible goal. We’re thrilled to be working with Independent Entertainment and the wonderful people at Alternative Cinema. I know they’ll give this film the tender loving care it deserves.”
Other Alternative Cinema brands include Shock-o-Rama Cinema, Seduction Cinema, and Camp Motion Pictures. The company offers Lamberson’s first three films, Slime City, Undying Love, and Naked Fear on the two-disc DVD Greg Lamberson’s Slime City Grindhouse Collection.

With the upcoming DVD release of Slime City Massacre right around the corner, I thought now would be an excellent time to look back at Greg Lamberson’s 1988 flick that started it all – Slime City. Put on your raincoats, my friends, because things are about to get messy.
Jason Bene: Although Slime City is a low budget film, it is quite ambitious. Where did you find the funding to make this cult classic?
Greg Lamberson: My producing partners (Marc Makowski and Peter Clark) and I put up about one third of the $50,000 budget ourselves; we bugged friends and family for another third, and a foreign sales rep named Alexander Beck put up the remainder. It was a different time when we started, because video was huge and no-budget films sold well. But by the time we finished, the bottom had dropped out of that market. So in one sense,...

The Slime City Massacre is a sequel to the original Slime City from 1988 and now this latest feature has an official poster. The poster seen left shows off some of the central actors from the film including Lee Perkins, Debbie Rochon, Jennifer Bihl and Kealan Burke. Stephen Ramano (Shock Festival) is the artist behind the canvas on this one and director Lamberson describes the poster as "a blend of 70s sci-fi / 80's horror that the film celebrates." Have a look at this throwback to cinema art of the past and prepare for the premiere in Beloit, Wisconsin (February 18th).
A reminder of the synopsis here:
"In the wake of a "dirty bomb" attack, a New York City neighborhood known as "Slime City" has been evacuated, except for the homeless ("displaced refugees"). Four squatters searching for food in the ruins of the Zachary Devon Soup Kitchen discover a supply of mysterious wine.

Some just go into the filmmaking process for the experience itself. Ultimately unconcerned with how the finished product turns out. There’s nothing particularly wrong with that mindset but those that do decide to embark on that long winding road of celluloid should beware. Regardless of how much more technically proficient you are afterwards or how many friends you made from the experience of being on that set, your name will still most definitely appear during the end credits. Scrolling by as the audience slowly exits that eerily quiet theatre scratching their heads and apologizing to their friends or loved ones assuring them that they, “can pick the next one.” That being said, after spending a few days on the set of Slime City Massacre (the new goo spectacular from cult Director Greg Lamberson) I can say that everyone involved is not just there for the experience alone. I knew that the only way I was going to get another feature off the ground was to say, ‘I’m going to make this film come hell or high water.
