Exclusive: Eunice Bae has landed the final series-regular role in the Jon Hamm-led series Your Friends & Neighbors. Details regarding her character are under wraps.
The new Apple Original drama series is created by Jonathan Tropper. Bae joins previously announced stars Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Lena Hall, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Aimee Carrero, Isabel Gravitt and Donovan Colan.
Your Friends & Neighbors follows Coop (Hamm), a recently divorced hedge fund manager who, after being fired, resorts to stealing from the wealthy residents in his tony upstate New York suburb to keep his family’s lifestyle afloat. These petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time.
Craig Gillespie (Physical) is set to direct the first two episodes and executive produce. Additionally, Emmy winners Greg Yaitanes and Stephanie Laing are set to direct three episodes each. The project reunites Lee and Tropper who worked together on Max’s Warrior, a series created by the latter. The project hails from Apple Studios.
Tropper, who served as showrunner for Apple’s See and has an overall deal with the streamer, created Your Friends & Neighbors and will serve as showrunner. He will exec produce alongside Hamm, Gillespie and Connie Tavel.
Bae has most recently been seen in Fallout, Special Ops: Lioness and Blue Bloods. Additionally, she has appeared in the feature film Dakota, and on Broadway in the Tony-winning revival of The Skin of Our Teeth, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. She is repped by Boals, Winnett & Associates and Center Stage Management.

The Riverdale alum finally graduates out of high school roles, aged 29, with a frothy Valentine’s offering that adds a meet-cute to a Devil Wears Prada tale
I’ll admit that my first thought upon seeing Upgraded, a new Amazon Prime romcom, was something close to excitement – finally, a leading role for Camila Mendes that’s not in high school. At 29, the Riverdale alum, so game for whatever batshit curveball that show threw her and so sharp in Netflix’s romp Do Revenge, is a veteran of commanding the screen as a bitchy, beautiful, secretly vulnerable teen queen. Upgraded, from actor turned director Carlson Young, offers Mendes the much-deserved chance to act her age – or, at least, a scrappy third-tier assistant old enough to have a master’s degree in art history, who gets in way over her head and also charms everyone around her.
Like many a teen-show-to-feature upgrade before it,...

It’s quite the feat to craft a satisfying, clever romantic comedy in this cynical day and age, given almost every meet-cute, situational shenanigan and grand gesture has already been put to celluloid. However, “Upgraded,” which initially appears to be a stereotypical rags-to-riches tale centered on a desperate gal’s life drastically improving after telling a white lie to a cute guy, keeps these expected elements fresh and vibrant. Director Carlson Young and screenwriters Christine Lenig, Justin Matthews and Luke Spencer Roberts ground sharp, soaring sentiments in a reachable reality, innovatively remixing the genre’s familiar formulas to create their own meaningful and rather endearing movie.

After becoming a household name with her popular role in ‘Riverdale’, actress Camila Mendes is all set to bowl fans over with her much-loved swoony charm. Playing Ana Santos, a broke but ambitious art curator intern from New York, Mendes will soon be seen in the upcoming Amazon Original movie ‘Upgraded’. The film takes viewers alongside the streets of London in this romantic comedy, where mistaken identities and luck-filled meet-cutes will steal their hearts this Valentine’s season.
Mendes, who also dons the hat of an executive producer for the film, felt an instant connection to Ana Santos and was excited to be fully involved in developing her character arc as well as the story.
“What I love most about starring in projects I also get to produce, is having more authority to weigh in on creative choices,” says Mendes.

At 20 years old, Jenna Ortega’s been there and done that where the record books are concerned. She’s part of Disney history and has been long before Netflix’s Wednesday series, thanks to a certain TV show: Elena of Avalor. However, the role wasn’t without difficulties.

Class divides have plagued us almost since the dawn of civilization, since the very first groups of humans separated themselves according to the haves and have-nots. From the caveman with the biggest stick to the CEO with the largest bank account, things really haven't changed all that much. In the 2022 dark comedy "The Menu," those who have spent their whole lives in servitude finally get a chance to turn the tables in a truly bizarre tableau.
In the film, directed by Mark Mylod, a group of wealthy, privileged diners visit an exclusive island restaurant called Hawthorne for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience. The whole meal is planned in advance from start to finish (no substitutions) and has a story that goes along with it, all created by the eccentric but brilliant Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes in a brilliant performance). [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Consulant, Season 1.] The Consultant really takes the boss from hell metaphor and turns it on its head as Christoph Waltz‘s Regus Patoff looms over a video game company in crisis following the shocking death of their leader Sang (Brian Yoon). Among his underlings is programmer Craig (Nat Wolff) who is at first lured in by the promises Patoff delivers like developing his game for the company and bringing him to fancy parties. But as peculiarities make themselves known, Craig grows consumed with the need to uncover the truth behind this mystery man who one day walked into their office and assumed control. Through his searching, Craig discovers that Patoff may not be entirely human (uncovering a golden skeleton theory that’s seemingly proven in the finale) and in turn, Patoff begins to covet the professional talents of Craig’s fiancee Patti (Aimee Carrero). By the end of the season, Craig confronts...

If you currently work from home and have anxiety about going to the office to work, “The Consultant,” a new series on Prime Video, will make you rethink your life choices. Based on the best-selling horror novel by Bentley Little, the eight-episode series stars Christoph Waltz as Regus Patoff, a business consultant with a sadistic method of restructuring businesses.
Created by Tony Basgallop (“Servant”) and executive produced and directed by Matt Shakman (“WandaVision”), the series is more of an interpretation of Little’s book rather than a direct adaptation. As a result, it leans more into sinister themes of the lengths people will go to for money in corporate America.
Waltz’s chilling performance highlights this series as he embodies Patoff, a mild-mannered boss who never raises his voice but can manipulate those around him to do unspeakable things.

His first series since Apple TV+’s Servant, Tony Basgallop’s Amazon show The Consultant confirms his place as a writer with no interest in choosing a lane.
Like Servant, The Consultant is a chamber piece of escalating creepiness — part horror, part satire — capable of occasionally getting under your skin and occasionally making you laugh, but never really committing to one tone or narrative hook for very long. And The Consultant is, like Servant, a format-defying half-hour dramedy that, ideally, could have been a feature or possibly even an episode of a suspense anthology; it’s perplexingly rushed at times and oppressively elongated at others.
The hook of The Consultant is sure to be Christoph Waltz, delivering a compulsively watchable performance that falls right into the Oscar winner’s comfort zone of seductive weirdness that is alternately reptilian and lupine. It’s to Waltz’s credit that the sort of...

Few actors have become as synonymous with malicious businesspeople as Christoph Waltz. After his Oscar-winning turns in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained, Waltz has played dastardly villains of all sorts in everything from James Bond films to the recent small-screen remake of The Most Dangerous Game. In a slightly different role, Waltz portrays a different sort of bad guy in the new Prime Video series The Consultant. Exclusive: Yvette Nicole Brown (Disenchanted), Page Kennedy (The Upshaws), and Cameron Fuller (Zatima) have joined the cast of buddy action-comedy Code 3 opposite Rainn Wilson, Lil Rel Howery, and Aimee Carrero. Production is currently underway.
Brown plays Shanice, an experienced Ems supervisor who is always in control—well, most of the time. She knows Randy (Wilson), someone with who she has a colorful past. Shanice knows he’s burnt out and jaded, but she also knows he’s the best paramedic they’ve got, and she respects him for it.
Kennedy plays Officer Tagert, a police officer who frequently runs into Randy and Mike (Howery) in their ambulance on various calls. Tagert knows the system well and prefers that on any given call, the victim winds up going to the hospital, in which case it’s the paramedics’ paperwork, not his. Tagert doesn’t seem to mind helping them out when he can.

Did Christoph Waltz freak you out in "Inglorious Basterds?" He has the creepy smile thing absolutely mastered, and we're about to see it again in the upcoming Prime Video series, "The Consultant." In the show, Waltz plays Regus Patoff, a consultant who comes into a huge mobile video game company called CompWare after the CEO shoots himself. He's not exactly a comforting presence, sniffing employees to decide if they stay at the company and trimming his nose hairs in the office. I apologize if you were eating when you read that.
The earlier trailer was upsetting enough, but this one is even more unnerving. The show was created by Tony Basgallop and is directed by Matt Shakman. Shakman's style is all over this trailer, which feels at points as though you're supposed to laugh when things are looking rather murder-y. It's like the camera has very good comic timing yet...

"I won't be here forever... I'm only the consultant." Such a sly bastard, he seems so evil. Don't want to ever encounter this schmuck in real life. Amazon has revealed the official trailer for the series The Consultant, streaming on Prime Video later in February. Based on the book of the same name, The Consultant stars Christoph Waltz as Mr. Patoff, a mysterious business "consultant" who takes over running a mobile game company known as CompWare. "Management has decided to go in a sinister direction." Another description says it's about the "relationship between employee and boss – asking how far we will go to get ahead, and to survive," though it seems about something much more dark and freaky. This series also stars Nat Wolff, Brittany O'Grady, and Aimee Carrero. This looks damn good, but it also seems like a story that would fit better in a film (ala The Menu) than a series.

In “The Consultant,” Christoph Waltz’s Regus Patoff is a pandemic-era corporate worker’s nightmare.
“For those who work remotely, you have one hour to get here, or you’ll be terminated,” he says in a trailer for the dark comedy-thriller series exclusively obtained by Variety.
The series, which premieres on Feb. 24, explores the sinister relationship between boss and employee. When Patoff is hired as a consultant to improve the business at the app-based gaming company CompWare, employees experience new demands and challenges that put everything into question, including their lives. The cast also includes Nat Wolff as Craig, Brittany O’Grady as Elaine and Aimee Carrero as Patti.
The trailer reveals that Patoff’s hiring at CompWare comes after the bloody death of the CEO inside his office — and that his resume includes consulting for a company whose CEO died just two weeks after bringing Patoff onto his team.

If you’re reading this, congratulations: You have made it through 2022.
It’s been a rough year, to say the least, from war in Europe and climate catastrophes to Uvalde and inflation. Kanye went full Amon Goeth, while Johnny and Tory stans reached new depths of misogyny and celebrity worship. And our favorite online corner to vent’s been recast as the grievance mill of a redpilled multibillionaire.
The cinema gave us a chance to escape — and laugh. So, with all due to respect to Jennifer “These gays… they’re trying to murder me!

Searchlight Pictures gave their darkly comedic psychological thriller The Menu a theatrical release last month (you can read our review Here and watch our interview with stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult Here), and it has been more successful than I would have expected it to be. It has earned more than 59 million at the worldwide box office. And next month, it’s heading into viewers’ homes. The Menu will be receiving a digital release on January 3rd, with a Blu-ray release to follow on January 17th.
Scripted by Will Tracy (Last Week with John Oliver) and Seth Reiss (Late Night with Seth Meyers), The Menu is set
in the world of eccentric culinary culture, centering on a young couple who visit an exclusive restaurant on a remote island where an acclaimed chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu, with some shocking surprises.
