ABC's Influence drama pilot has cast Christian Slater who joins Steve Zahn in the Kyle Killen-created project from 20th Century Fox TV, reports Deadline. Apparently, the show is set in the workplace and follows the complicated relationship between brothers Clark (played by Zahn), human psychology genius with bipolar, and Slater's ex-con Ross, a schemer who's served a two year prison sentence for fraud. Together, they run an agency aiming to solve their clients' problems using the real science of human motivation and manipulation. Ross developed the business model and believes that it came make millions. Breaking In's Slater was last seen in Bullet to the Head, alongside Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang and Jason Momoa. He followed that with the indie The Power of Few, alongside Christopher Walken, Q'Orianka Kilcher, Moon Bloodgood and Anthony Anderson. Edgar Allan Poe's Ligeia recently played at the 18th Annual International Film Festival and will likely make further festivals until releasing in 2010 (a prediction). Distribution is being handled through Darclight Films and Ligeia stars Wes Bentley (Ghost Rider), Eric Roberts (The Steam Experiment), Michael Madsen (The Killing Jar) and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. The film involves trapping the souls of the living in vessels to achieve immortality. Wes Bentley dons a co-producer hat and stars as Jonathan Merrick in Edgar Allan Poe's Ligeia , a film by Michael Staininger and written by John Shirley ( The Crow ) that's due to arrive sometime within the next year. If we're being vague on the release date, it's not on purpose.
