Richard Lewis’ friends and co-stars, including Larry David, Jamie Lee Curtis and Cheryl Hines, are taking to social media to pay tribute to the late actor and comedian.
Lewis, known for his role on Curb Your Enthusiasm, died Tuesday night at his Los Angeles home after suffering a heart attack, his publicist told The Hollywood Reporter. The Anything but Love actor revealed in April last year that he had been living with Parkinson’s disease and was retiring from stand-up.
Larry David, the star and creator of Curb Your Enthusiasm, shared in a statement: “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me. He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him.”

HBO‘s long-running comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm is set to air its 12th and final season this year, and one of the stars, Cheryl Hines, has been opening up about her time on the show and her relationship with star and creator Larry David. Hines played the fictional Larry’s wife, Cheryl David, for the first five seasons of the show before they separated in Season 6 after she grew tired of his constant neuroses and public outbursts. Despite breaking up, Hines has remained an on-screen character, later dating Larry’s rival, Ted Danson. As far as Hines is concerned, she would continue doing the show forever, and she is still holding out hope that David will change his mind about ending the beloved sitcom. “Going into production, we were told most likely it will be the last season,” she shared in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “But since season one,...

Cheryl David, the now-ex wife of Larry David on "Curb Your Enthusiasm," is played by the ever-funny Cheryl Hines. Her character on "Curb" is a saint for putting up with Larry's shenanigans for as long as she has. Between having to listen to Larry squeaking around the house in his new orthotics and getting trapped inside a functioning car wash after doing a colon cleanse that put her in desperate need of a bathroom, this woman has been through a lot. It's a wonder she's even retained the ability to laugh after living with Larry and his neuroses for so long.
Even though Hines' character is now with Ted Danson (one of Larry's many arch-nemeses on the show), Cheryl is still crucial to the show's comically insensitive plot lines and finicky main character. Hines is a master at bringing Cheryl to life, and without her calm voice of reason, the show would be drastically different.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" is one of the funniest television shows, and anyone with a pulse should watch it. The HBO comedy series follows Larry David portraying a semi-fictionalized version of himself living a wealthy yet mundane life after the success of NBC's "Seinfeld" -- a show the real-life Larry David created. The fictional series follows those who have to deal with Larry's habit of making a fuss out of everything -- from minor annoyances to everyday social interactions. Its main cast includes Larry's fictional wife, Cheryl David (Cheryl Hines), his best friend, Jeff Greene (Jeff Garlin), and Jeff's wife, Susie (Susie Essman). Although the show's premise sounds simple, it's continued to be a hit with fans, and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" received a season 12 renewal in April 2022.

On Oct. 15, 2000 HBO’s landmark comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” debuted, introducing the world to the idiosyncrasies of the genius comedic mind of “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David. Over the series’ 10 seasons and 100 episodes, David has played a hilariously exaggerated version of himself, a proud “social assassin” who’s often on the outs with friends and strangers for his strong, brutally honest opinions about everyday life and the ridiculousness of society.
“Curb” quickly followed on the heels of David’s 1999 pseudo-documentary “Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which chronicled his return to standup years after wrapping “Seinfeld.” In that special and on all 10 seasons of the show, David has been joined by Jeff Garlin as his manager Jeff Greene and Cheryl Hines as his wife Cheryl David, who earned an Emmy nomination for her role in 2006. Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove round out the cast as Jeff’s riotous spouse Susie and...

Most people don't remember the 1989 incident in which Iran's religious leader called for the murder of author Salman Rushdie. Larry David hopes that fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm do, though, because the incident is the inspiration for the joke that drives the plot of the series' long-awaited season nine. Fortunately for David, there's plenty of worldwide fear of Islamic extremism still around, so Curb can still mine it for laughs. Read about the controversial beginning to Curb's season below.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is about finding the funny in subject matters most others wouldn't dream of touching. After Sunday's long-awaited season nine premiere, consider that mission accomplished.

Enthuse over this. Cheryl Hines expects to feature in the ninth season of the Curb Your Enthusiasm TV show on HBO. She has done some recent voice work on Comedy Central's animated TripTank TV series.Of Curb Your Enthusiasm, EW reports Hines said, "As far as I know I am involved. I don’t know what the season is about or if I’m involved, but I texted Larry and he said if I’m not too busy he wants me to be in it. So, that’s all I know." That sounds pretty good.
