Lauren grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, and has a B.F.A. and M.F.A. (Actors Studio) in theater. She is a Second City Conservatory Program graduate and has appeared in various improv groups throughout N.Y.C. While in graduate school, Lauren studied with legends such as Llyod Richards, Gene Saks, and Arthur Penn. In the theater, Lauren has performed in venues from H.E.R.E. to the Kennedy Center. Favorite roles include Joan in Elaine May's "The Way of All Fish," Jill in "Butterflies Are Free," and Lala in "The Last Night of Ballyhoo." Other appearances include Caryl Churchill's "The Skriker" (Kennedy Center), "Tango 'Till They're Sore" (The Flea Theater), and "Keanu Reeves Saves the Universe" (P.I.T.) On-screen, Lauren has appeared with actors such as Ethan Hawke, Candice Bergen, and Hailee Steinfeld and was infamously cut as Gilda Radner from the film "Chapter 27." As a writer, Lauren is a semifinalist for The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center Playwrights Conference, Heiress Production, a quarterfinalist for The Writer's Lab, and a finalist for The Orlando Shakespeare Playfest & SheNYC Arts Competition. A published playwright and essayist, Lauren has also written about comedy, women in comedy, and pop culture for various publications, including Collider. Lauren has been referred to as the "foremost authority" on Gracie Allen due to her research and essays in conjunction with her play "The Raconteurs: A Story Of George Burns and Gracie Allen." As a podcaster, Lauren has co-hosted and produced podcasts on "Murphy Brown" and Harrison Ford, where she has interviewed Tony and Emmy-winning actors and writers such as Diane English, Joanna Gleason, and Richard Schiff - to name a few. As well as appeared and produced a narrative podcast of highlights of her play Burns and Allen as Gracie Allen - narrated by Stephen Tobolowsky.
