Dominique Unsworth
- Producer
- Additional Crew
- Production Manager
A Creative Media Producer for more than 20 years, Dom has made 100+ films and has supported 100s under-represented Artists and Filmmakers to secure work in the Arts through her social enterprise Resource Productions CIC. Dom is passionate about inclusion and access within the Creative Industries and supports diverse regional talent, crew and artists whilst producing commissions for the likes of BBC and Channel 4. She is founder of Berkshire Film Office and co-founder of the British Film Institute backed Screen Berkshire and Arts Council England supported YES: Youth Engagement Slough.
In addition to being an active member of the Chambers, Dom is a member of BAFTA, the British Screen Forum and an RSA Fellow. She is a Non-Executive Director for Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Chair of the LSIP Screen Sector Workforce Development Partnership, National Apprenticeship SME Ambassador and sits on the board of Slough Business Investment District.
Having developed and delivered screen sector skills strategies and programmes for new entrants and experienced crew, with partners including Pinewood, Shinfield, Sky and Bray Studios as well as Netflix and Disney, Dom is also an active producer with two films eligible for BAFTA nominations. Her short film 'Whose Voice is It anyway?' by Kate Caryer, which was a Channel 4 Random Acts commission, is a darkly funny mockumentary that addresses the need for better access to communication aids for non-verbal communicators. Dom's debut feature 'Little English' by Pravesh Kumar is a British South Asian romcom set in Slough, which takes alight-hearted look at everyday challenges for modern multicultural Brits. The feature was made as part of a skills development programme, released in UK cinemas in March 2023 and has been picked up for further distribution.
Dom regards herself as a social entrepreneur with the aspiration to effect social change through art and film by diversifying the creative industries. Having made an impact in the Thames Valley region she has recently set up a new social enterprise 'Parity Pictures' in Bolton, with intention of building another regionally based hub for storytelling and production.
