“Perverso” es un thriller spin-off de “Parot”, que se estrenó hace tres años. La nueva serie cuenta la historia de Haro (Massagué), un refinado y maquiavélico aristócrata que cumple condena por violación y asesinato, y que es amenazado de muerte por Óscar (Cornet), un secuestrador que actúa contra la élite empresarial, de la que forma parte la mexicana Mariana (Pimentel). Aprovechando esa conexión, Haro negocia beneficios penitenciarios a cambio de colaborar en la investigación de los secuestros, pero en realidad prepara su venganza contra Lucía (Miró), la jueza que lo encarceló.

Miami– Gaumont USA, producer of “Narcos,” is powering up new series from both Oscar-winning “Birdman” co-writer Armando Bó and also Spain’s Manuel Martin Cuenca, director of Toronto winner “The Motive,” as well as multiple other talents. It is also readying it first movie slate.
Gaumont USA already co-produced the Bó showrun Amazon Original “El Presidente,” with Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín’s Fabula and Argentine powerhouse Kapow, both partners on “La Jauría.”
News of new series projects comes as Gaumont USA is advancing on Lucía Puenzo’s near future android family saga “Futuro Desierto” (“Desolate Future”), part of a 2020 multi-project development pact with the Argentine writer-director.

Exclusive: Studiocanal has sold Spanish drama The Vow into Italy and the show has been commissioned for a second season.
On the eve of Mip TV, the producer-distributor has struck a deal with Italy’s Mediaset, which will air The Vow on Canale 5 later this year.
Created by Josep Cister Rubio and airing on Tve’s La1 in Spain, The Vow takes place at the beginning of the turbulent 20th century amongst the stunning landscapes of Southern Spain. Jana, a maid working at the waning yet ruthless House of Luján, seeks revenge for her mother’s murder, but there is one element she did not anticipate, falling in love with Manuel, son of the Count of Luján. Tve has just renewed for a second season.

The pitching session comes as genre is building for independents as one of the two pillars of a residual theatrical film business and sci-fi and fantasy remain a top original production choice on Netflix and other platforms.
