House Of Cards producer Dana Brunetti and digital media executive David Beebe, the former architect behind Marriott’s Content Studio, have been named keynote speakers for this year’s Buffer Festival -- a YouTube film festival and industry convention to be held in Toronto this fall.
Brunetti, the Oscar and Emmy-nominated producer behind The Social Network, Captain Phillips, and Fifty Shades Of Grey, will join Canadian TV personality Amber Mac for a fireside chat about a short film competition he’s been running since 2012 titled Jameson First Shot alongside the famed whiskey brand. Beebe, who also co-founded the Disney-abc Television Group Digital Studio to produce webisodes for Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and more, will discuss the intersection between storytelling and brand marketing.

Written by Daniel Malakai Cabrera, Two Bellmen Two is the sequel to Marriott’s first original short film Two Bellmen, which debuted in March 2015 and has over 5.1 million views on YouTube alone to date. The sophomore short in the Two Bellmen franchise tells the story of Sandra (played by Pinto), a businesswoman who arrives at the Jw Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai to give an important presentation. But when the Usb drive with her speech and confidential information is lost, Two Bellmen Two re-introduces viewers to bellhops Gage (played by William Spencer) and Christian (Caine Sinclair) who race through the streets of Dubai on horse, jet ski, skateboard, and other such unusual transportation methods to recover the device.

Marriott International’s newest digital series comes from its millennial-focused Moxy Hotels brand. The budget-friendly chain of boutique hotels, which launched its first location in Milan, Italy in 2013, partnered with YouTube comedian and actress Taryn Southern to create the celebrity gossip and interview web series Do Not Disturb.
Produced by Marriott Content Studio and filmed at YouTube Space La, Do Not Disturb is hosted by Southern and has a laid-back setting in a mock-up Moxy hotel room. In each episode, Southern will interview celebrities about their careers, best travel experiences, and even topics like what they keep in their overnight bags or what was their last Google search. Do Not Disturb also functions as an introduction for the Moxy brand to U.S. viewers, ahead of the hotel chain’s ten upcoming locations in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, San Diego, and Washington, D.C.

Marriott Content Studio now boasts two official short films to its name. The digital studio owned by hotel chain Marriott International released its second short film French Kiss on May 19, 2015.
Produced by Sander/Moses Productions & Slam, French Kiss stars Tyler Ritter as Ethan, a workaholic American in Paris for a speaking engagement at a tech conference. While Ethan focuses only on preparing his speech, a mysterious, maybe-imaginary woman Margaux (played by French model and actress Margot Luciarte) has other plans. Margot steals Ethan’s laptop, and convinces him to follow a string of clues throughout the city to discover its magic and adventure. In the end, Ethan finds out if Margaux is real, and is reminded that travel time shouldn’t be wasted on work.
David Beebe, Vice President of Creative and Content Marketing at Marriott International, said in a release French Kiss is about more than just a business traveler in Paris.

Marriott Digital Studio is gearing up audiences for its upcoming flick. The studio branch of the global hotel chain has released the trailer for its second short film French Kiss, which will premiere on May 19, 2015.
Self-described as a “mystical romance,” French Kiss tells the story of a young, job-obsessed American named Ethan (played by Tyler Ritter). While in Paris for an innovation conference at the Champs Élysées Marriott hotel, Ethan is goaded into following a string of unusual, magical clues strewn across the city by his secret admirer Margaux (French model and actress Margot Luciarte). When Marriott first announced its digital studio back in September 2014, VP of Creative and Content Marketing David Beebe explained the plan was “to be the Red Bull" of the hotel industry. With its latest release, Marriott Content Studio has offered its most Red Bull-ish video yet. The hotel chain has released Two Bellmen, a short film created in partnership with Substance Over Hype.
Two Bellmen follows a pair of Marriott employees as they look to stop an art heist at their hotel. The film, which debuted a trailer last month, has now arrived on its own YouTube channel:
Substance Over Hype is a collective of active people, and its focus is apparent through Two Bellmen. Much of the film is devoted to impressive stunt work and action choreography, with hotel items like keycards and luggage carts often serving as improvised props. Since launching its content studio in September 2014, Marriott International has been very busy producing an array of digital initiatives to better reach millennial travelers. One of those projects, a short film titled Two Bellmen, will debut on March 10, 2015, and Marriott just released a sneak peek of the film to get viewers ramped up for its release.
Two Bellmen is a 15-minute short film about two of the hotel chain’s bag carriers who try to stop an art show heist occurring at Marriott’s Los Angeles Live hotel. In the 40-second Two Bellmen sneak peek, viewers are introduced to one of the two titular characters. The employee notices a group of food service workers entering the hotel with a duffel bag, and he races over to carry it for them. But something is amiss when he realizes there’s no reason for the food workers to be bringing in ice cream,...

Marriott, as it looks to become the Red Bull of the hotel industry, is planning a number of digital media projects across multiple platforms. One of the most intriguing offerings in Marriott's pipeline is Two Bellmen, a short film starring a pair of stuntmen. The trailer for that project is now available, and it is full of acrobatic action.
Two Bellmen is co-created by Marriott Content Studio and Substance Over Hype, a collective of dancers, stuntmen, extreme athletes, and other active people. For this particular film, Substance Over Hype has cast stuntmen William Spencer and Caine Sinclair as the titular bellmen. Through an assorted collection of flips, punches, and kicks, the two bellmen will stop an art heist at their hotel. Judging from the short trailer, slow motion will be used liberally.

Marriott Content Studio has a new project to add to its already-long list of and upcoming programming. The hotel chain’s digital studio teamed up with What’s Trending to produce an original travel series starring Jeana from PrankvsPrank, Steve Zaragoza of SourceFed, Louis Cole from FunForLouis, Tom Cassell of The Syndicate Project, and Meghan Camarena (aka Strawburry17).
The unofficially-named series functions as a five-piece video campaign to introduce millennial travelers to the ease of Marriott’s new mobile check-in feature. In the videos, the YouTube stars have the chance to visit a city from around the globe (at least one where Marriott has a hotel establishment), and partake in one experience to strike off their individual bucket lists.
Viewers follow Jeana to New York as she cooks dishes alongside world-renowned chef Einat Admony, watch Zaragoza tour the Franconian sausage factory in London, and see Cole learn martial arts in Shanghai.

Marriott Content Studio is plunging ahead in its goal to produce original travel programming. The production house just announced four new projects underway, including a short film, development deals with YouTube and Snapchat stars, and a new digital publication.
First up is Marriott’s short film called Two Bellmen. The movie stars skater William Spencer (the stunt double for Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man movies) and stunt performer Caine Sinclair (of Grimm fame) as two competitive bellmen who become friends and stop an art heist at a private event at Jw Marriott Los Angeles La Live. Marriott’s Content Studio is creating the film in partnership with Substance Over Hype, a group focused on “movement” (both in the inspirational and literal sense) with videos surrounding topics like extreme sports, dance, music, martial arts, and parkour.

Marriott International launched a global content studio with a focus on next-generation travelers. The hotel chain will create webisodes for millennials that feature off-the-beaten-path attractions and youth-oriented hosts like YouTube's Shira Lazar. The hospitality company's new division will have content development, production and distribution teams dedicated to publishing and distributing content across platforms. David Beebe will serve as the studios vice president of creative, content and global marketing. Beebe comes to Marriott from Disney-abc Television Group. “The global content studio represents a bold step forward for Marriott, both in our industry and among leading brands,” said Karin Timpone, Marriott's global marketing officer.

Can a hotel chain successfully utilize a business model that has turned an energy drink company into a top entertainment brand? Marriott thinks so. It has announced the launch of a content studio inspired by the success of Red Bull Media House. According to Variety, Marriott's new venture will produce "web series, short films, TV shows, music events and movies." It is targeting a millennial audience in hopes of reach the "next-generation traveler." To help reach that audience, Marriott has hired an online video executive with a lot of experience: David Beebe. Beebe, formerly of Fishbowl Worldwide Media, will be the head of the new studio. “We’re saying we’re going to be the largest publishers of life style,” said Beebe. “We’re going to be the Red Bull of this category. That’s where we want to get to.” Marriott certainly won't be first company trying to profit off Red Bull's signature model.

A Los Angeles philanthropist and a newly formed online video studio are teaming up to do good. Carter Lay, whose grandfather Herman founded the Frito-Lay company, has partnered with David Beebe Projects for a multi-platform project aimed at empowering at-risk youths. The project will continue The Carter Lay Charitable Fund's ongoing work with impoverished communities. It will center around a number of different minority youths, each of whom will photograph his typical day and star in an individual webisode based around his life. The photographs and other art projects created by the youths will ultimately be auctioned off, with the money going back into each low-income neighborhood. “This initiative furthers my efforts to introduce and connect youth to the arts and also provide kids a positive way to engage in their community,” explained Lay, who launched his Charitable Fund and ramped up his philanthropic efforts after being diagnosed with leukemia last year.

Revision3 has signed a nice collection of creators (including Philip Defranco and The Fine Bros) and today the Discovery-owned network added another big name to its lineup, partnering with Fishbowl World Wide Media's Petsami channel. Petsami content will now be available on Revision3, and the studio will invest in Fishbowl so that the Ugc-oriented production studio can create additional original content. Petsami is the second Fishbowl channel to join up with Revision3; the healthy network also distributes CuteWinFail, Fishbowl's most popular channel. Though Petsami is up to 25 million views, about half of CuteWinFail's total, it still lags far behind in subs by more than 236 thousand. Partner with Revision3 should do well to combat that particular problem by providing addition exposure for the animal-oriented network. Sure enough, increasing Petsami's viewership is one of Fishbowl's top goals for the partnership. “The Petsami audience — as well as its desire for new,...

Fishbowl have long been the kings of premium user-generated content (Ugc) on YouTube. As we've previously noted, the production company has done well to turn its massive library of America's Funniest Home Videos clips into a series of successful YouTube channel. This week, Fishbowl rolled out Final Rewind, its fourth Ugc-centered channel. Final Rewind is similar to Failblog, except viewers get twice the enjoyment as each clip is replayed in slow motion. Many Ugc clips are best when played over and over, so Final Rewind allows fail fans to get a second dose of schadenfreude without having to smash on the replay button. "Failure is a concept that translates across all languages and cultures – especially in video form." said David Beebe, VP of Fishbowl. "There are no barriers to understanding what the fail is. Fishbowl Worldwide Media, as I wrote about last week, has managed to build an entire video empire around its library of user generated content, but the production company does more than utilize its premium Ugc. In addition, they have created several original series in partnership with Yahoo. One of their more successful series is Ultimate Surprises, which began its third season earlier this week. Ultimate Surprises was initially known as Ultimate Proposal, and was an instant hit with its feel-good mix of happy couples and grandiose pre-proposal setups. In the second season, the show's focus was expanded to include a wider range of unexpected gifts, including a party for a cancer survivor's girlfriend and a celebrity appearance from host Cameron Mathison's co-star on All My Children, army veteran J.R. Martinez. Now, with season three hitting Yahoo, the Fishbowl team are looking to expand the Ultimate Surprises umbrella even further.

What do you do when you have a video library of a million clips, and no place to put them? This was the question that Vin Di Bona faced in 2010. Di Bona was the producer for America's Funniest Home Videos, which was entering its 20th season that year. Over the duration of the show's long run, every schnook hoping to have his 15 minutes of TV fame had sent in a homemade video to the show, creating a daunting collection over one million strong. Di Bona, along with Bruce Gersh, decided it was time to put these funnies to good use, and that year the pair formed Fishbowl Worldwide Media, a company dedicated to spreading out the breadth of Afhv's goofy library over several channels.
