The Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg-produced World War II series Masters of the Air has something that its predecessors did not: a bona fide movie star in the lead role. Thanks to his award-winning role as the King himself in 2022’s Elvis, Austin Butler has burst onto the scene as a major acting force. And he brings that gravitas with him to portray Gale “Buck” Cleven in the nine-episode Apple TV+ series about WWII bomber pilots.
Cleven is the perfect role for the brooding Butler – a quiet, confident figure that the rest of his crew looks up to. Cleven also serves as the culmination of years of work for the actor just as much as the Elvis Presley gig did. As a teen, Butler made the Disney and Nickelodeon TV show circuit via a mix of one-off and recurring roles on Zoey 101, Hannah Montana, iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place,...

How many divorced children wish for their parents to reunite during the holidays?
Using Santa's magical pen on Letters to Santa, siblings Sam and Izzy ask for things to make their family happier again.
While the Hallmark holiday film follows a predictable arc, the child actors capture your heart immediately.
Katie Leclerc and Rafael de la Fuente play a separated couple, Rebecca and Enrique. While I appreciated that they kept up holiday traditions for their children, Sam and Izzy, part of the film, I wanted to scream at them for being so stubborn.
Neither one would adjust their work schedule or ways of thinking to fix their marriage, and it was affecting the kids.
Counselor: The idea is to get back to what made you fall in love in the first place.
Enrique: I would like that.
Rebecca: I would like that, too

American actress Katie Leclerc makes acting look terribly easy. After all, it can’t be easy playing someone who had lost her hearing, as she does in the television show Switched at Birth. However, if you’re a fan of the show, you probably already know that Leclerc is actually hard of hearing in real life due to Ménière’s disease, a disorder of the inner ear. It shows you just how dedicated she is to her craft and how hard she is willing to work to pursue her dreams. Leclerc is a true inspiration to many viewers all over the world, and

We all have them. Families.
Whether they're abundant and generations are still in existence or if there are only a couple of you who make your world go around, odds are somewhere, someplace, there's someone you'd probably like to hide from on the holidays!
In the '70s and '80s it was difficult not to find a family's drama on television, but in the 2000s family drama got kicked aside for more violent pursuits. There may be families, but first there was a crime or a crime family. It became all about law and order.
This list isn't about mob families, or procedural dramas that feature families, but about shows where the family comes first.
One interesting note, though, is that six of these series feature the natural or accidental death of a loved one near the beginning to kick the drama into high gear. Nothing like death to bring a family together.

It's so hard to be a teenager.
It's even harder to be a teenager when an actor, well into their '20s or '30s, is still tapping into those angsty teen emotions.
We get it.
A lot of TV studios cast actors who are older than the characters they play.
But what about those actors who've ended up playing a teenager for several seasons of television?
Here are just a few TV teens who are actually well-past high school.
1. Stefan Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries Paul Wesley has been playing Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries for 8 years. While Stefan is eternally 17, Wesley himself is in his '30s. 2. Scott McCall - Teen Wolf Teen Wolf, you say? Tyler Posey, who's played teenage werewolf Scott since the beginning of the series, is actually 25. 3. Spencer Hastings - Pretty Little Liars The lying teens may have had a recent time jump into the future,...

We’ve good news and bad coming out of Freeform today. After learning of the network’s somewhat surprising decision to push ahead with a second season of supernatural drama Shadowhunters, it’s been confirmed that Switched at Birth will bow out after season 5.
Bringing the series to an end after a total of 103 episodes, creator and producer Lizzy Weiss confirmed that the fifth season would mark the last hurrah for Madeline and Daphne.
Said Weiss:
“This season of #SwitchedatBirth will be our final one. We are ending the show after an amazing 103 episodes with pride, love, and gratitude.”
That adds an extra sense of drama to the upcoming season 5, which is slated for a premiere on Freeform during the summer. Back to reprise their roles for the final time are Vanessa Marano and Katie Leclerc, who anchor the teen drama as two young girls who were, well, Switched at Birth.

14 years ago today, the TV series “24” premiered on Fox, with the buzzy format of each 24-episode season covering 24 hours in the life of Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland. The show premiered less than two months after the September 11 attacks, making Bauer’s efforts to protect America from terrorism plots that much more resonant with viewers. “24” lasted for eight seasons, earning several Emmy Awards along the way, including one for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Last year, it was revived for a 12-episode limited series. Other notable November 6 happenings in pop culture history: • 1965: The Rolling Stones’ “Get Off Of My Cloud” took the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was their second No. 1 hit — “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” had topped the chart earlier that year. • 1967: Bob Dylan recorded “All Along the Watchtower” in Nashville, Tenn. • 1981: “Time Bandits” opened in U.

One could easily lump Switched at Birth in among the ranks of the typical melodramatic soapy family dramas, wrought with teen angst, but to do so would be a mistake: Switched at Birth has much more inimitable qualities, placing it above the average-teen centered drama. It’s not only entertaining, but also compelling and thoughtful television. At the core of the series is the unique relationship between the two very different female leads who are both equally the protagonist of the series. Theirs is a relationship unlike any other on TV, as they have essentially been living each other’s life.
