Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight met both Cillian Murphy and Jason Statham in Los Angeles to discuss the role of Thomas Shelby. Initially, Knight opted for Jason Statham, explaining to Esquire that one of the reasons was because, physically, Statham commanded the room. In contrast, Murphy, when met in person, did not immediately embody the character of Thomas Shelby. Knight admitted to Esquire that he was initially too short-sighted to see beyond this. Warning: contains spoilers for Fool Me Once.
“I often find that people think they find plot holes when in truth they just haven’t considered every possibility. But that’s part of the fun.” So Harlan Coben told ladbible.com.
Coben was responding to a popular question left on viewers’ lips at the end of new Netflix thriller Fool Me Once: why did Emmett J Scanlan’s character Shane put a tracker on Maya’s car – was he up to no good?
The answer to that one is simple, said Coben. Military Police officer Shane was just a good pal worried about his friend’s erratic and secretive behaviour in the wake of her sister and husband’s murders. He tracked Maya’s car without telling her for her and daughter Lily’s protection.
Fair dos. Case closed.

It’s here, the newest Netflix thriller adapted from one of Harlan Coben’s ludicrously twist-packed, secret-filled crime mystery novels. This one comes adapted by Danny Brocklehurst with the same UK team that made The Five, Safe, The Stranger and Stay Close, and once again stars Richard Armitage in a central role.
Fool Me Once is the story of military helicopter pilot Maya Stern, a captain who loses her career in a scandal and suffers two bereavements in short succession. It’s fast-paced, kind of ridiculous viewing that takes you down an extremely twisty path before tying everything up in a big not-exactly-watertight-but-it’ll-do-fine knot – which makes it pretty perfect viewing for a brain-fogged New Year’s Day after all of December’s indulgences.

The recent shake-up at Warner Bros., with James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over as the new co-chairs of DC Studios, has cast a lot of uncertainty about the future of certain movie actors in the DC Universe. Henry Cavill, for instance, may have been handed his walking papers as Superman, but one actor whose future at the studio seems to be secure, judging by a recent video on social media, is "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa.
There was a time when the superhero Aquaman was nothing more than a "Seinfeld" and "Entourage" joke who got no respect for his power of talking to fish. Philip Stevens and Laura Turner may have crafted one of the bleakest films of the year so far, with stomach-churning moments juxtaposed with the romantic scenery of rural Lincolnshire. Turner’s powerfully nihilistic script and Stevens’ gritty translation of her screenplay onto the big screen most certainly make them newcomers in the industry to get excited about.
In 1555 England, Queen Mary’s Egyptian Act means that all Gypsies must be expelled from England, any who stay run the risk of execution, as does anyone who helps them remain in the country. David (Emmett J Scanlan), leads a small community of salt farmers, and has arranged for illegal passage by boat for an Indian Gypsy family in return for payment. When Patience (Hannah Douglas), an aphonic English girl, falls for Egyptian son Rumi (Sebastian De Souza), David’s wrath endangers both communities.

An intriguing debut feature set on the Lincolnshire coast depicts a Romani family hoodwinked and menaced by a vengeful salt farmer
Screenwriter Laura Turner and director Philip Stevens are making their feature-film debuts with this intriguing, slightly stylised and quasi-theatrical piece: stark, oppressive, menacing, a historical drama with a slice of horror. It is set in 16th-century England on the remote Lincolnshire coast, a time when the Egyptian Act of 1554 effectively criminalised Romani and Gypsy people and those who harboured them.
Stevens resourcefully uses the blank canvases of wild, empty coastline and forest to avoid the need for much specific period detail. David (played by Emmett J Scanlan from TV’s Peaky Blinders) is the aggressive bully who leads a small community of people farming salt from the marshes; he has made a deal with a Romani called Arif (Javed Khan) to get a boat to take him and his family away from England,...

Warning: contains finale spoilers for The Deceived
‘This has all been about your fragile little ego, hasn’t it?’ Ophelia told Michael in The Deceived’s final episode, and she was dead-on. Dr Michael Callaghan, played by Emmett J Scanlan, was poison to the women around him. He lied, cheated and manipulated to conceal his inadequacies, and in the end, paid the price. With spoilers, here’s how the psychological thriller’s finale played out.
What happened to Annabelle?
Before Michael’s affair with Ophelia (played by Emily Reid), he was cheating on his wife with another student – Annabelle Lorimer (played by Saffron Coomber). She had written the manuscript of her first novel – The Ruin – and asked him to read it. Realising it was good, and having failed to get his own first novel published, Michael stole her work, changed the title, and had it published as his own debut.

Netflix is bringing back Peaky Blinders for a fifth season and we’ve got a fantastic new trailer to share with you for it that is sure to get the fans pumped up for what this next season will entail. In the next chapter of the story, the Shelbys grapple with the 1929 stock market crash, and Tommy “confronts new threats to his power from younger family members and fascist rivals.”
It’s been two freakin’ years since Peaky Blinders Season 4 was released on Netflix and I’m so happy that we’ve got six more episodes coming our way soon! It’s been promised by series creator Steven Knight that this season will be filled with “shocks and surprises.”
Here’s the synopsis:

It’s been nearly two years since Peaky Blinders Season 4 was released on Netflix. Well, after that long wait, Season 5 has finally been given a U.S. release date! The six-episode Birmingham, UK set crime saga will be released in the UK on August 25th and in the U.S. on October 4th.
I love this show and it’s about damn time Season 5 gets a release date! Series creator Steven Knight talked about the upcoming chapter of the story saying that it begins with the Wall Street crash of 1929 and the Shelby family “seriously affected because they’ve invested their legitimate money and are going to have to fall back on the illegitimate money.” He also promised “shocks and surprises to come.”

Following last week’s news that Season 5 of epic BAFTA-winning crime saga Peaky Blinders will debut August 25 in the UK, Netflix has set its premiere date for the U.S. and beyond. All six episodes of the Cillian Murphy-led series will launch on the streaming service at 12:01Am Pt on Friday October 4 in the States and all markets where Netflix has the show’s rights.
Anticipation for S5 has been ramping up as the global fanbase eagerly awaits Peaky’s return, nearly two years after Season 4 which was its highest-rated yet — the trailer for the upcoming run has garnered more than 3.5M views since its unveiling at the end of July. The Steven Knight-created series is also coming back after it scored its first Best TV Drama BAFTA, for Season 4, in 2018 — a rarity for a show that many years along.

Flat caps were out in force on Wednesday in Birmingham, England as the town welcomed the Season 5 world premiere of gangster epic Peaky Blinders. Birmingham is home to Peaky creator and writer Steven Knight, and to the series’ Shelby family that’s led by star Cillian Murphy’s Tommy. At a screening of the first episode of the upcoming season, Knight excited the crowd, saying that much of the next season will be shot locally. He added, “We have two more series to do and we are bringing Peaky Blinders home.” Deadline last year reported that talks were ongoing with the BBC on Seasons 6 and 7, and Knight’s comments certainly make them appear likely. However, producers and the network have yet to officially confirm.

Gareth Evans, the action visionary behind The Raid, co-created TV series Gangs of London for HBO’s Cinemax and Sky Atlantic.
The cult cinema myth of Gareth Evans’s innovative 2011 Indonesian action flick, The Raid: Redemption, is still resonating several years after its release. However, Evans, who also tackled Netflix horror film Apostle, and remains in the mix to direct DC's (up-in-the-air) Deathstroke movie, has heeded the call of peak television as the co-creator – with Matt Flannery – of an action series called Gangs of London.
Evans contributes as a director for Gangs of London's 10-episode run, using his Raid repertoire to handle complex choreographed fight scenes. However, he shares that duty of director with Corin Hardy, who handled four episodes, joined by French helmer Xavier Gens, who helmed one. I may have been one of the few to like the 2005 film version of DC Comics’ John Constantine. Yes, it had Keanu and yes it was in Los Angeles, not London, but it was an old fashioned horror film and worked better than it should have.
As a result, I was primed to enjoy NBC”s take on Constantine when it debuted in 2014. It had the right pedigree with David S. Goyer and Mark Verheiden among the producers and cast an act Brit, Matt Ryan, in the lead. What resulted, though, was something interesting and uneven that didn’t catch on with the general audience and was gone after thirteen all-too-brief episodes.

It’s been two years since audiences last saw Gillian Anderson as the driven and obsessive Stella Gibson, the detective superintendent who’s been after serial killer Paul Spector (played by Jamie Dornan) in BBC Two’s drama “The Fall.” A new teaser trailer for the third installment has just been released and shows Gibson being haunted by the murderer who was last shot at the end of Season 2.

“I live at a level of intensity unknown to you and others of your type,” we hear him say. “You will never know the almost God-like power that I feel when that last bit of breath leaves a body. That feeling of complete possession.”
