Idles have shared a new single, “Model Village,” with an animated music video directed by brothers Michel and Olivier Gondry. The clip was produced with WePresent, WeTransfer’s editorial platform.
The famed filmmakers used their talents and surrealist sensibilities to craft what a “model village” may look like and, in the process, satirize the “fishbowl mentality” within a small community. Villagers are represented by cartoon pigs who act violently toward each other and waste away the day with meaningless activities.

Research has recently shown that that the average attention span, due to the distractions of our digital world, has evolved into a mere 8.2 seconds. This did not escape the attention of filmmakers and iconic directors, brothers Michel and Olivier Gondry, who had also noted some scientists saying that it only takes 8.2 seconds to fall in love.
Anyway, this was the inspiration for a particularly innovative and unique concept for their making of Las Vegas Love Stories where six brief encounters lead to romance. The sin city background develops a more sincere ambience in only 48 seconds through the clever manipulation of minimalist actors and the engaging, evocative surreal images to remind us of the instantaneous, heady, emotional journey falling in love sweeps us away on.

A first-look trailer for a series of short films created by Academy Award-winning director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and his brother, director Olivier Gondry, is out today. The Partizan Entertainment-produced series, Las Vegas Love Stories, was shot at the Park MGM hotel and is set for a September 25 debut on YouTube.
The six films last eight seconds each, reflecting a study that noted the average human attention span is that long. However, the directors contend, that short span is time enough to fall in love. The series film titles all reflect the number eight. Watch the trailer above.
Here are the films:
It Is Decidedly So – Faced with the joy of a newlywed couple in Las Vegas, a woman’s emotions take her on the ride of her life when she spots a man from afar. Room 802 – Two best friends see each other in a...
