Christina Aguilera is supporting a good cause! The 36-year-old pop star, who has made limited public appearances in the past few years, stepped out on Thursday night for a screening of Shine to raise money for Puerto Rico relief.
“So proud of @gilbertsaldivar and his performance in @shinethemovie. So talented. Great evening benefitting @voicesforpuertorico and relief efforts in Puerto Rico,” she wrote. “Special thanks @Jessy_Cain_Style and well done @tonynardolillo.”
Aguilera posed with actor Gilbert Saldivar, wearing a floor-length black dress with red stripes. She paired the look with a long black coat and black hat, rocking a bold red lip.
The film follows two salsa dancer brothers who are reunited after years apart.

Summer was created for one purpose only to a legion of fanatics: "East Los High." Yes! Our homies from East Los Angeles, Cali’ are back this summer! Hulu has renewed the groundbreaking teen drama, "East Los High" for a third season.
Since its debut in 2013, the English language Elh has introduced its audience of loyal followers – the #ELHaddicts (don’t forget the hashtag!) – to some of the freshest faces in young Latino talent and those fans quickly created allegiances to their favorite characters. That loyalty was fostered by Hulu’s commitment to its audience and community.
So, with that said The Bomb Squad has let the boys into the club this season. Gilbert Saldivar joins the team as Santi, a ladies man who like any self-respecting guy, only signs up for its girls–to-boy ratio. Byron Martinez and Oskar Rodriguez will play childhood friends, Luis and Omar, who get taken under the wing of Jacob at the taqueria (I’m getting hungry writing this) and put the dance skills they picked up on the streets to the test when they join the squad.
Another familiar face getting in on the action is Carlito Olivero, a finalist from The X-Factor, playing Eddie, a young man dedicated to caring for his diabetic mother. Boys joining the Bomb Squad may or may not be a good idea but you will have to find out this summer.

Raising Hope is planning a big My Name is Earl reunion, TVLine reports. Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly, Ethan Suplee and Eddie Steeples will all reprise their regular Earl roles and Nadine Velaquez will play a party supply store employee.
CBS is developing a small screen version of the Cameron Diaz comedy Bad Teacher, which sounds like a bad idea, but it does have a Happy Endings writer working on it.
According to EW, Taissa Farmiga is in talks to appear in the third season of American Horror Story.
Still looking for a show to capitalize on The Hunger Games like The Vampire Diaries did with Twilight, the CW is filming a new pilot for the post-apocalyptic romance The Selection. The network also ordered a pilot from Supernatural producer Sera Gamble, Company Town about a Virginia...

It’s a very distinct world we’re entering when The Odd Life of Timothy Green begins, and while the film capitalizes wonderfully on the potential, it unfortunately also falls victim to some of the traps.
Jim and Cindy Green (Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Garner) are a happy couple living the medium-town life, but when they learn that they aren’t going to be able to have kids, they don’t take it very well. In an effort to deal with their sense of mourning, they bury all their hopes and dreams for their child in the backyard. That night, Timothy shows up in their house, covered in dirt and ready for middle school. Their self-proclaimed son left a large hole in the garden in his wake, and comes equipped with leaves growing out of his calves.
The Greens are naturally at something of a loss, but there seems no...

Last week on ABC’s Castle, a murderer framed Castle (Nathan Fillion) for his crime and almost killed him as the hour drew to a close. Castle luckily got away, as did the murderer, who will surely return one day.
It was a tense episode, but it left me feeling more tricked than treated: Did we truly expect Castle, the titular character, to bite the dust? No, because without him, there would be no show.
I recently wrote about shocking TV deaths, and there are many, but it tends to be supporting characters who get cut. Some are so fantastic or get enough attention that they feel like leads, but they’re technically classified as second-tier roles (think Jimmy Darmondy, played by Michael Pitt, of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire).
Other surprising deaths happen to characters that are a part of an ensemble, so they...

More than just a variety of western, spaghetti is the movie food of love, death and lip-smacking slurps
This week's Clip joint is by Jay Glennie, who is currently writing a book of interviews with British Oscar winners. Follow him on Twitter @Britannium
Think of spaghetti and the movies and the chances are an image of a mysterious man with no name in a Sergio Leone western is instantly brought to mind.
But think again! Whether it's egg or durum wheat pasta, spaghetti in particular has proved a pivotal plot device in many of our favourite movies. I'm jumping through hoops (see what I did there?) for these carbohydrate-laden scenes.
The Lady and the Tramp
Spaghetti has never been more seductive than in this scene between a streetwise mutt and a prim 'n' proper Cocker Spaniel. When the Tramp takes his love to the best Italian restaurant in town, Tony's,...

Here we are, back again for an all-new season of The Vampire Diaries. Over a series of flashbacks, Stefan, Damon, Elena, Bonnie, Klaus and Jeremy fill us in on the history of Mystic Falls and its centuries as a haven for supernatural creatures, along with events from last season culminating in the tragic death of Alaric, Klaus's staking and Rebekah forcing Matt to drive off Wickery Bridge where Elena is left to drown. Elena has the last word: “And then there's me. I'm human. At least I was.” She opens her eyes with a gasp on a table in the morgue.
Now that is how you do a voiceover recap, Amy Pond.
Elena jolts awake in her room the next morning to find Stefan and Damon watching over her. Stefan explains about the accident and assures her that Matt is fine. She begins, “How did you...” and Damon, who's kept...

The Vampire Diaries 3.21 "Before Sunset" Review
The penultimate episode of season 3 of The Vampire Diaries managed to get rid of one villain while setting up Elena's (Nina Dobrev) big decision for next week's finale. Of course it wasn't as clear cut as that and like the witches and the balance of nature; this show has loopholes that it is happy to use to create tension and danger at every turn. Last week we said goodbye to Alaric (Matt Davis) and while he is still in Mystic Falls this is not the Alaric that we are familiar with and so those misty eyed farewells still matter.
While our Alaric started life in Mystic Falls as a vampire hunter, he soon became very much like Elena in seeing that vampires aren't just monsters. This new vampire version of Alaric is how he probably wanted to be when he first came to town...

It's been nearly a year since "The Good Wife" made a casual mention of Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) husband during Season 2. And now, that husband is finally being revealed.
According to EW, Kalinda's husband will make his way to TV screens sometime during "The Good Wife's" current third season.
"In the next few episodes, Kalinda gets investigated by the IRS and just as the relationship between Alicia and Kalinda is starting to become warm again and [Kalinda] is starting to open up, her husband shows up," Panjabi told EW.
Looks like more drama ahead for Kalinda. Head over to EW to read more of Panjabi's thoughts on the storyline.

I love The Vampire Diaries. I don't just like it or even like like it, I full on 'I will have your hybrid babies' love it. Seriously, I haven't felt this way about a show since Veronica Mars (season one).
Nothing else I've ever watched has provided as many O-m-g moments, stress-induced heart palpitations or pretty vampires in a one-hour time slot. Yes, it's about vampires and yes, there's a love triangle. But it's so much more than the teeny bop 'riding off the vampire craze' storyline that even I expected when I started watching. This show has vampires, werewolves, doppelgangers and more character deaths than you can keep track of. It's a show that's not afraid to kill (Rip Anna), turn annoying side characters into kick ass favorites and even use Lady Gaga songs in promos.

So, if you’re like me you’re probably still bummed about all the tragedy that has befallen Mystic Falls and in particular the Gilbert family. Sure, we said goodbye to Jules the werewolf on The Vampire Diaries, but nobody really cares about werewolves. They’re like the forgotten and abused stepchild of the supernatural TV and Film world.
As for the Gilbert family, while John Gilbert was introduced as a major douche, he did have the best of intentions in mind for daughter Elena. Now, he’s sacrificed his life to save his daughter. Unfortunately, his switch from the dark side came a little to late to save Elena and Jeremy’s guardian and Alaric’s girlfriend Jenna. As predicted we’ve had to wave goodbye to Jenna. This was easily the biggest loss to date on Tvd.

After watching tonight's episode of The Vampire Diaries, I know what side of the supernatural turf I want to belong to. Too bad Tyler wasn't so clear on his own choices.
Act 1 - A Weekend Getaway, Vengeful Plans
The morning after the wolf slaughter from last week, Jules and Brady learn from another wolf, Stevie, about the Sun & Moon curse and Mason's involvement in it with some vampire named 'Kathy'. Brady declares to kill every vamp in town to stop them from breaking the curse.
At Caroline's house, Stefan calls Elena and the two decide to escape to a cabin in the woods for the weekend, which would be a way for Elena to leave the drama behind, namely John.

We have our winner, the 2010 SpoilerTV Character Competition is over.
And the Winner is:
Yes, Lost's Jack Shephard, played marvellously by Matthew Fox has claimed the crown for 2010, a fitting tribute that the show which without, SpoilerTV would probably not exist, should claim the Character Competition in it's final year.
Also, in the users competition, the winner of the bracket guessing the final two as well as the winner, is Iveta "ivetka.a" Palkova with 120 points, beating Marcus ""TongueChamp"" A by 4 points to claim the prize. I will double check with Dark on how you get the prize, but well done, and I or Dark himself will help you out. :) Surprisingly for me, the Jack win which I predicted grabbed me 11th place, on 99 points. If only Greg House had performed better :P You can check where you finished here: http://www.dawgsled.com/darkufo/welcome.asp

Day 29:
64 characters were chosen from shows both past and present. We have reached the final two, one from the phenomenon that was Lost, which recently ended it 6 season run, Jack Shephard. The other comes from a longer-lived, and much loved show, Smallville.
We have had hundreds of thousands of individual votes over the past month, so thanks to everyone who has joined in the competition, as well as the Show Competition I ran over the summer. I'll save the thanks until tomorrow when the 2010 Character Competition winner is announced, but spread the word one last time, twitter, facebook, Youtube, whatever you fancy, but let's break records as Jack & Clark do battle.

It has been quite a long time since we checked in with Paramore singer Hayley Williams, one of the most beloved stars of the MTV News Twitterverse. Her recent activity has been pretty heavy, as she has had a bit of down time. Paramore have been gearing up for a European tour (which kicks off this Saturday, November 6 in Dublin, Ireland and will include a stop at the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards, which are this Sunday, November 7 in Madrid, Spain) and taking care of a video for "Playing God," the new single from their still-rolling 2009 album Brand New Eyes. All the while, she has managed to keep her followers entertained and informed with tweets about parties, food and boyfriend Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory.

Day 28:
Recap :)
And so Jack Shephard has seen off the very tough opposition of Fox Mulder, one of the hot favourites for the title following the Quarter Finals, and gives Lost a place in the 2010 Character Cup Final, going one better than the Best Show Cup, where it was defeated by Supernatural. The X-Files, another show to fall to Supernatural in the Best Show Cup once again falls just short of producing a winner.
And we can now turn our attention to the penultimate day of the competition. Our 64 characters are about to become 2. We have Clark Kent, who is challenging 'Firefly's' Malcolm Reynolds for a place in the final vs. Jack Shephard, and we can finish the 2010 Character Competition.
That time has come once more, time to place your votes for your favourite.
Also keep upto date with the competition and/or ask questions by following me on twitter.

And now, the time has come. We have our final four. They cover a wide variety of shows, the mystery island drama, the alien thriller, the space opera and the superhero show. Which will make the final, and take the 2010 Character Competition. As Gandalf once said, the board is set; the pieces are moving.
Today we have Fox Mulder of 'The X-Files' facing off against 'Lost's' Jack Shephard. Both are the male leads of the cultural phenomenon of the 90's and the 00's. There can be only one winner.

Day 26:
And we have our third semi-finalist, as Clark Kent saw off Olivia Dunham fairly comfortably, as he gradually increased his lead throughout the day, with any attempts by the 'Fringe' character, quickly reversed by the Man of Steel. Smallville therefore is the third show to reach the Semi-Finals, with The X-Files and Lost. Firefly will be the fourth, but the questions is which character will be representing the short-lived but hugely popular space-opera. Will it be Malcolm Reynolds, or will it be River Tam. It will be close, very close, split decisions amongst the Firefly fans.
I don't know who is going to win. About time we found out...
By the way, to make sure we get the most amount of votes etc, the Semi-Finals will be on Monday & Tuesday next week, the Final on Wednesday. There will be none on Saturday & Sunday :)

This good showing after last rounds win over Dean Winchester shows just how good a chance Fox has at claiming the crown. Lost meanwhile, has been well and truly beaten, and Jack fans (myself included) need to hope for a bigger turnout today or else Elena Gilbert of The Vampire Diaries will cruise through.

Firstly, I am apologising for the lack of a start time over the last few days, but I'm majorly busy atm, but I'm getting the new rounds up as fast as I can :) And therefore, also I'm sorry I haven't changed the 'River Tam' image, but I promise that I will by the quarter finals (if she reaches it :P)
After a topsy-turvy day in the office, Olivia Dunham ensured Fringe had it's sole remaining character in the competition for the Quarter Finals, ending a very strong, but not quite good enough run by Liz Lemon. I think it's fair to say Olivia has surprised the odds reaching the final eight, perhaps credit to her strong start to season three over the last few weeks, but I can't deny that I'm pleased she has made it two women in the final eight as of now.

And so Clark defeats Lois, and he now holds the key to Smallville's challenge, can he make it past the Quarter finals, that remains to be seen, but Clark quite comfortably saw his way through round 3, Lois could not match the man of steel. So far the Quarter Finals are fairly even in terms of show representation, only Lost so far has more than 1 character in the final 8 (it has two) which is pleasing :)
Today sees Liz Lemon, a surprisingly strong performer in the first two round facing against the queen of Fringe, Olivia Dunham, who especially over recent weeks (and episodes) has been stellar :P Can Liz overcome another tough opponent? Only time will tell. Better get voting folks...

(I'll be away for the next couple of days, so back with the competition on Monday! Have a good weekend)
3 days into the third round and the Quarter Finals are looking juicy. Fox Mulder, Benjamin Linus & Jack Shephard making three of the top half's four characters, and that is some tough competition. Jack was given one hell of a run for his money, retaking his early lead in the latter stages of the competition, and knocking Kate out of the competition. As a Lost fan, I feel some votes may have come tactically from other show fans, but in my opinion, the right man is through, and he has to face one of these two in the next round.
Those two are Seeley Booth, one half of the 'Bones' team who has already eliminated The Doctor from the tournament, and vastly outshone the success of the show in the other competition.

Our first all Lost tie of Round 3 is completed, with Benjamin Linus making it into the quarter finals, setting up a mouth watering tie with Fox Mulder for a place in the semi finals. So the quarter finals are beginning to take shape, and in mouth watering fashion. :) Who will win today? I can't say for certain, but on paper out of the Lost's two main characters, I would think Jack goes in a the favorite. But anything is possible here, and there's no denying that a match up between Lost's main romance, one of whom opened & closed the phenomenon that was Lost is a real exciting tie. Can Kate upset the odds. Of course she can. I'm excited to see which way it goes. It's Jack Shephard vs. Kate Austen. One more character from the show can make the Quarter Finals. Which will it be. Let the the battle commence.

And what did it mean for the competition? Well it means that Fox Mulder may just be the favourite for this competition, a staggering amount of votes for 'The X-Files' man, and he makes his way into the quarter finals. And that means that early front runner Dean Winchester has stumbled out of the competition. a very tough run ended by Fox for the Supernatural lead. He deserves a lot of kudos though, and for the competition to lose Supernatural before the final eight is certainly a surprise, the show facing too much opposition to make it a double win for 2010 after taking the Show Competition.

And so we enter Round Three of the Competition, the 64 narrowed down to just 16 characters who all have a chance to take the title. Will current show leader Lost see one of it's 4 remaining character's win the title. Maybe they will, but one thing for certain is that there will be only two in the quarter finals, as we have a double all-Lost showdown. Smallville also faces a similar fate, it's two remaining characters destined to only be one. Will Firefly continue it's remarkable run to reach the latter stages? Who knows?

Don't have a lot of time to write today, but yesterday we saw River Tam pull off a really impressive victory over an Abby Sciuto who never really got going, managing less than 1000 votes to River's near 7000. It certainly is looking very good for firefly at this time, it's totals something that only Dean Winchester & Elena Gilbert have managed so far. :P Also winning was Spike, who easily saw off Chloe Sullivan, and makes you wonder how Buffy herself has flopped so badly in the competition, losing in round one to Sookie Stackhouse.

Goodbye Damon. That's got to be the words of yesterday, as another of the bottom half of the brackets favourite characters plummeted out of the competition to Olivia Dunham, keeping 'Fringe's' hopes pushing forward into round 3, and leaving Elena to fight for 'The Vampire Diaries.' Also, it all appeared to be going smoothly for Chuck Bartowski, however a late surge by Liz Lemon saw 'Chuck' leave the competition, and '30 Rock' to cling on in with a very impressive victory. So perhaps two surprising results today, but based on the comments from yesterday's poll, a popular one amongst the people.
Today we have four characters I have to say I know very little about at all. Jack Bauer's defeat came at the hands of River Tam, one of the 'Firefly' crew, and that stands her in good stead against 'NCIS's' only hope for success, in Abby Sciuto. Following tat we have John Locke's defeater,...

I wrote the paragraph below when I went to bed, so for Fringe fans, unfortunately & for Smallville fans, brilliantly, Lois Lane pulled off a remarkable turnaround and beat Peter Bishop, so hats off to the fans, who now find themselves with a Clark vs. Lois Round 3. Personally as a Fringe fan, and viewing the competition as a neutral, I would've found Clark vs. Peter the most interesting Round 3 match, as I can't help but feel that Clark should definetely have an edge over his co-star. But more intruiging things have happened. :P I've left the paragraph below in as I'd mentioned a few other bits and bobs, so read at your pleasure :)
(It was a relatively quiet start to the second half of the draw in the second round of the competition yesterday, one which saw success for one Smallville character (Clark Kent) yet elimination for the other (Lois...

Halfway through Round two and Grey's anatomy has been wiped from the competition, the show's final character Cristina Yang falling to Seeley Booth as well as Supernatural losing one of the brothers, leaving only Dean to fight the show's attempts to win both competitions, as Sam fell to Elena Gilbert of 'The Vampire Diaries.' Definetely a shock result, and puts Elena in very good shape for the rest of the competition, where if she defeats Seeley Booth in Round 3, she will face either Jack or Kate for a place in the semi finals. Things are hotting up rather nicely in the top half of the draw :P
And that leaves the bottom half of the draw, the side which saw the most shocks in round one. Big names such as Greg House, John Locke & Jack Bauer are out, paving the way for a different character to storm through the...

Update: 22nd Sept Just thought I'd show you this cool little map of where all the votes are coming from around the world.
Hey guys, I'm getting this up a little bit earlier than the end of the previous round, as I have a few other things I wanna do but it's looking pretty set that both Lost characters are heading into Round 3, Kate having turned it around against Chandler Bing is quite spectacular fashion, setting up a re-meeting between the show's main romantic couple a lot sooner than it happened on-screen :P Jack fan's were certainly in cruise control and will need to vamp it up to stand a chance in the next round!
Onto today we have some mouth-watering ties, and some which I'm sure 'Supernatural' & 'Vampire Diaries' fans have been salivated at the mouth over for a while, as we have Sam Winchester taking on Elena Gilbert.

And we hit the third day of round two, having seen two Lost characters reach round 3 to join Fox Mulder and Dean Winchester from the previous day. That means there was wins for Benjamin Linus & Juliet Burke, leaving an all Lost tie in the next round, and eliminating Chuck Bass & Sookie Stackhouse in the process. That also means that both Gossip Girl & True Blood have no characters left in the competition. They have to wait another year to see if they can improve. Also of note, Lost's characters aren't getting the votes to compete with the likes of Supernatural & firefly at this stage in the competition....
Today sees two more Lost characters in two more matches, the first being the main star of the series, Jack Shephard taking on 'Burn Notice's' feisty lead woman in Fiona Glenanne. Also it is love her/hate her Kate Austen taking...

Update: 21/07/10First off, I'm expressing apologies to fans of both shows.I understand I can't please everyone here. I have been travelling back from Belgium today, and have been in and out of the London Subway System and unfortunately I could not check the precisely on the hour mark. Just before when I had checked, Smallville was ahead, however, once I reached my hotel 20 minutes past the hour The Vampire Diaries had snuck ahead. Therefore, I have been left with no choice but to leave this poll open for a further day and to run the Grey's Anatomy vs. Lost poll alongside.I can only apologise for the mistake, has I known I would have set a closing timer for the poll today, but as a result, and to make it as fair as I can given the circumstances, I will close Quarter Final 2 and 3 at the same time.Grey's Anatomy vs.

Our new leader, hitting the top for the first time with 48 points is Jacy Taylor. Just for the record, and to see how awful I myself have done, I am currently in 330th position with 33 points. Not looking good for me. :PAlso, if you wish to be kept more in the loop with the remainder of the competition, join my twitter feed, http://twitter.com/AdDHarris and don't miss out on any of the rest of the competition.
Day 20: Smallville continues to impress in the competition. It has seen off now two of the frontrunners for the whole competition, and it has done so with relative ease. The huge fanbase behind Smallville shows why it has endured 10 seasons, and why, entering it's final one this year, it still continues to hold onto its followers. It is my dark horse for the win, behind the front runners (in my opinion) Lost & Supernatural.

Day 12: So after the huge numbers who voted for Fringe the day before, yesterday was a majorly quiet day for the shows involved, perhaps a foreshadowing that all the shows may not have the support to go all the way. One thing is for certain, this is the first day no poll has no broken the 1000 vote mark. Perhaps the absence of critically acclaimed The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, both beaten by shows today has a negative reaction from other fans, but both Smallville and Stargate waivered, and Smallville grinded through to make Round 3, along with Dexter, a show that found it a lot easier today than against Bones, but with a significant drop in votes.
Today we also have a few shows that unexpectedly found their way into the next round. Firstly we have The Vampire Diaries, which surprisingly saw off 20 seasons + animated comedy The Simpsons fairly comfortably,...

Wednesday (January 6) night's People's Choice Awards saw big victories from the "Twilight" crew, Taylor Swift, Johnny Depp and "Glee." It was also a big night for Paramore, who beat out Daughtry, Green Day, Kings of Leon and Muse to take home the title of Favorite Rock Band. As she is wont to do, singer Hayley Williams kept fans abreast of her developments and reactions via her Twitter account.
Williams, who was at the show with boyfriend and New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert, opened the night wishing that she got the opportunity to meet one of her favorite stars. "Dear God, please let today be the day that I meet Michael C. Hall," she wrote about the star of "Dexter" (a show she often tweets about). "And let him be wearing a lab coat and goggles. Amen."

Today, fifteen years after I first saw it, I believe "Hoop Dreams" is the great American documentary. No other documentary has ever touched me more deeply. It was relevant then, and today, as inner city neighborhoods sink deeper into the despair of children murdering children, it is more relevant. It tells the stories of two 14-year-olds, Arthur Agee and William Gates, how they dreamed of stardom in the NBA, and how basketball changed their lives. Basketball, and this film.

"Hoop Dreams" observed its 15th anniversary Wednesday night at the Gene Siskel Film Center. Agee and Gates were both there. Gates, now a minister, observed that in one period of time he buried 20 victims of gang violence, 16 of them under 16. Agee said when he looks at his friends in the film today, "ten of them are no longer with us." Yet there they sat,...
