eOne and Crime Story Media have partnered with LAist 89.3, Los Angeles’ number one NPR station and podcast company Acast to present the original podcast series, Night Raid. Night Raid tells the story of a chaotic 2014 Swat raid on a home in San Gabriel that resulted in the death of Pomona Police Officer Shaun Diamond and the incarceration of David Martinez.
While the critical moments in the operation occurred in a matter of seconds, the story spans decades - from a contentious relationship between the Atf and a motorcycle club in the the 70’s to two explosive murder trials in 2019 and 2022.
Each week, the series unpacks aspects of that story using interviews, testimony reenactments, and jailhouse and police recordings.

Despite what the creators of HBO's "The Last of Us" live-action show may tell you, there have already been excellent video game adaptations, but most of them are in animation. From "Castlevania," to "Arcane," animation has captured the unique and diverse worlds of popular gaming franchises and reinvented them with entertaining and profound stories. Last year, we got a new entry in the canon of video game adaptations that proves there is no such thing as a video game curse — "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners."
Based on one of the biggest video game failures in recent memory, there was a lot to be excited for and also worried about with "Edgerunners." The original "Cyberpunk 2077" was a highly-anticipated game, publicized based on the studio behind it and the inclusion of Keanu Reeves in its cast,...

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a fantastic show even when you remove any connections to its source material, and boy are there connections. The anime is filled with cameos and easter eggs that translate characters, weapons, and locations from Cyberpunk 2077 into anime form. It only seemed fair for CD Projekt Red to return the favor.
The release of Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 coincided with the launch of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which was apparently the plan since the patch was nicknamed the “Edgerunners Update.” Not only did this patch implement yet more fixes that finally made the game worth playing, the update also added several new gigs and weapons. One of these armaments is a chainsword, the Cut-o-Matic, which is perfect for everyone who wants a little Warhammer 40K in their Cyberpunk 2077. However, the patch’s most noteworthy additions are all the easter eggs that reference Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Players can now buy a drink named after the anime’s protagonist,...

The legacy of video game adaptations is a complex one, as most attempts to create standalone stories based on massively popular video games have failed on some fundamental level. Thankfully, there have been some exceptions in the recent past, which include Netflix's "Arcane" (based on "Arcane: League of Legends") and "Tekken: Bloodline" (based on the popular "Tekken" franchise). So, when CD Projekt Red announced a standalone anime series titled "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners," based on the mega-hyped "Cyberpunk 2077," fans of the open-world game were cautiously hopeful. Netflix dropped the series today, and I have good news for you: "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" brings the world of the game to life in the best of ways.
While fans of "Cyberpunk 2077" will rejoice at the anime's dedication to the game's in-world lore, aesthetics, and core concepts, those unfamiliar with the original source material might feel a little lost at first. What exactly does the protagonist,...

After a rough first year, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is finally starting to be the game that we were hoping for back in 2020. CD Projekt Red looks to continue that momentum with the announcement today during the Night City Wire livestream of the Phantom Liberty Dlc expansion, as well as Dlc based on the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Netflix series that begins streaming September 13th.
Available today, the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Dlc is a story-focused expansion that lets players take on the role of David Martinez, the protagonist of Edgerunners, in events that run parallel to the main Cyberpunk 2077 game. The new content also acts as Patch 1.6 and per IGN, will be the final major update coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077. Alongside Edgerunners-inspired items, the update also adds a clothing transmog system, cross-platform progression, playable Roach Race minigame arcade cabinets, and more.
