Law & Order very nearly became the longest-running crime drama on television. If it hadn't been for a 10-year hiatus, it would have reached its 24th season a long time ago.
Thanks to that break, sister show Law & Order: Svu has pulled ahead by two seasons.
Still, Law & Order is one of NBC's most iconic shows, from its "dun dun" chime between scenes to its filming on location in New York City. It's high time for a cast and character guide to help you keep track of who you can expect to see (and not see!) during Law & Order Season 24.
Two Characters Are Not Coming Back
Many viewers were shocked when Jack McCoy (Sam Waterson) left Law & Order after over 400 episodes.
Waterson had been with the series since Season 4 and was probably more closely identified with it than any other character.

Batman has seen various incarnations over the years, whether it be live-action or animation. The character remains one of the most beloved among the pantheon of DC heroes, and multiple stories surrounding the character continue to be adapted. One of the unique iterations of the character was 2018’s Batman Ninja, putting a Japanese spin to the character.

The animated film received mixed reviews from fans and did not garner much hype and excitement from general audiences. Now, a sequel has been announced titled Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League. But most fans are either uninterested or pissed at the creators for not attempting other comic arcs that are more memorable and beloved by the community.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are two of the most prolific veteran actors currently working in Hollywood. The legends have won Oscars and have featured in multiple acclaimed films. They have also worked with legendary directors such as Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Francis Ford Coppola, and more.
De Niro and Pacino have worked together on four films to date, with the last being The Irishman. Though they first featured in the film The Godfather – Part II, they never shared the screen as their roles were set in different periods. The first time they ever shared a screen was in Michael Mann’s cult classic film Heat.

Law & Order Season 24: Everything We Know So Far About the Latest Season of NBC's Iconic Crime Drama
Thursday nights wouldn't be the same without Law & Order.
The flagship cop/legal drama took a hiatus between 2010 and 2021, but it'll be kicking off NBC's Thursday night marathon of crime dramas again this fall.
That means more cases ripped from the headlines, more of Price butting heads with the new Da, and probably more miraculous last-minute wins in the courtroom.
The flagship series hasn't deviated much from the formula that made Law & Order successful in the 1990s. The cops still investigate a case straight out of recent news, usually a murder, and then turn the defendant over to the Da's office to be prosecuted.
Nowadays, there's more diversity in the police and legal sides of the criminal justice system than when Law & Order first began, and there's less ambiguity in the courtroom.

Monica Barbaro made history as the first actress to portray the first female fighter pilot in Tom Cruise’s Top Gun 2. At the time a relatively unknown actor, the actress was astounded to be offered the role, given her limited experience in successful films or series. While she found the entire experience mesmerizing and enthralling, Barbaro later admitted that she had fabricated some details about herself to land the role.

The Long Halloween is still widely considered one of the greatest Batman stories ever told, and almost 30 years after the seminal comic book first hit shelves, Jeph Loeb will conclude the iconic crime saga with a new 10-issue series.
Announced today at the McM London convention, Batman The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween will pick up after the events of 2021's The Long Halloween Special one-shot, which was originally intended to be the start of a new story, but was put on hold following the passing of artist Tim Sale in 2022.
The new series won't feature new artwork from Sale beyond the cover for each issue. Instead, a rotating team of illustrators will provide work on the comic in tribute to the late artist, including Eduardo Risso (Flashpoint: Batman - Knight of Vengeance), Klaus Janson (The Dark Knight Returns) and Mark Chiarello (Batman: Black and White).

It was recently confirmed that Venom: The Last Dance will be the final movie in Sony's hit franchise. That could be because Tom Hardy is ready to move on or a result of Marvel Studios having its own plans for the Symbiote.
Either way, after the runaway success of 2018's Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage's respectable performance in the post-pandemic 2021, Sony is no doubt hoping this trilogy ends on a high (and profitable) note.
While the movie remains shrouded in secrecy, a newly surfaced plot leak for Venom: The Last Dance has been gaining traction on social media this evening.
In that, it's said Venom sets out to kill a 10-year-old Peter Parker in an effort to avoid suffering the same fate as many of his Multiversal Variants: death at the hands of Spider-Man (which would tie into the post-credits scenes of both the Venom sequel...

Elsbeth’s first season officially wrapped it all up last night with the final episode, and some major changes the show has recently been hinting at turned out to be nothing more than everyone’s delusion.
The penultimate episode that aired a week earlier significantly intensified Elsbeth’s drama, leaving the character on the edge of her successful career in New York, but now she appears to be just fine.
However weird it may sound to the fans of modern shows that simply can’t do without major cliffhangers, Elsbeth’s creators indeed had a solid reason for the season’s happy ending.
Spoiler alert for Elsbeth’s season 1 finale.
The season’s last episode proves that the big fight between Elsbeth and her boss Wagner after he found out about her spying on him was just a fuss about nothing. Well, in the beginning he’s in fact shown...

The Beverly Hills Cop movie series started in 1984 and it was one of the works that made Eddie Murphy a household star in the 80s and 90s. The first two movies were highly successful, but the third movie was a box office bomb and was panned by critics; today, it is considered to be the weakest movie in the series. Now, in 2024, amidst the revival/reboot craze, Axel Foley is back once again as Murphy tries to revive his career after a series of failures and controversies. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is the fourth movie in the series and it will be released by Netflix on July 3, 2024 globally.
As we wait for the premiere, Netflix has just released the first official trailer for the upcoming movie, several months after the initial teaser was released. We on Fiction Horizon are bringing you the trailer for your enjoyment!

Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) may be about to work her last case in New York in the CBS drama’s May 23 finale, or, well, so she thinks. Elsbeth has been renewed for Season 2, but Captain Wagner’s (Wendell Pierce) declaration, that he wants her to go back to Chicago after an arrest was made in the corruption case against him (Lieutenant Noonan had been using his name), could mean some major changes. Besides, Elsbeth doesn’t even necessarily want to return to Chicago! “I think she’s really found a new life and a new beginning reinvention, so to speak, of herself in New York, and so the thought of going back is pretty daunting to her,” Preston tells TV Insider. “She really wants to stay put. When you leave home for college, you don’t really want to go back and sleep on your parents’ couch. At least I didn’t.

Glen Powell Reveals Why He “Ran Away” from Hollywood and Why He Turned Down the New ‘Jurassic’ Movie
He is 35 years old and he comes from Austin, TX. He is an actor and you’ve probably seen him in Top Gun: Maverick, but don’t remember him as he was not Tom Cruise. Since then, his career has been on an upward spiral, and he has had some very successful projects. His name is Glen Powell and the actor has finally managed to “conquer Hollywood” at the age of 35, which is also when he decided to retreat a bit and go back to his roots. Okay, he’s not quitting, and he has many plans for the future, but the Texan has decided to take a different approach to fame.
In a major interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Powell discussed his career, his internal struggles, as well as his future plans, revealing that while we won’t be seeing him, we will still be seeing him everywhere at the same time.

The finale is finally upon us! It's been a good season of sleuthing for the Chicago transplant turned unofficial homicide detective.
But all things, good or bad, meaning Elsbeth's functional floral fashion, must end.
Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 10 looks like a tricky one to figure out, though. The only clear thing is that a fashion photographer is murdered, possibly by way of a gunshot.
The promo left a lot to be desired in terms of clues. But as Elsbeth is a "howcatchem," all the pertinent details will be laid out within the first five minutes of the episode.
It's just not very clear who the killer might be, but if we're going by who was featured the most in the trailer and who was the most recognizable face, then it's likely Laura Benanti playing runway model Nadine.
I'm more inclined to believe she is the killer for a couple of reasons.

Actress Miranda Rae Mayo shared some Chicago Fire spoilers about the big season finale.
One of the recognizable stars from the One Chicago shows, Miranda plays Lieutenant Stella Kidd.
Kidd was absent from the latest episode as Firehouse 51 dealt with the loss of Truck 81. Through character conversations, we learned she was in California hot on the trail of a new truck.
Things got more tense with Paramedic Chief Robinson, though, after Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) reported her right-hand man (Lennox) for nearly killing a patient in the field.
People have had to step up and lead the house recently. The absence of Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) has led to some interesting storylines.
Unfortunately, part of the season finale includes an “emotional farewell” to Boden.

Put another way, Blue Bloods may be ending later this year, but you’d never know it from the Season 14 midseason finale that aired tonight.

Camryn Manheim is leaving Law & Order, but you couldn’t have known that by watching the show’s season finale, which aired tonight.
Instead of a farewell, the focus centered on Tony Goldwyn’s Da Baxter, with Manheim’s character, Lt. Kate Dixon, barely featured. There was no indication during the show that she would be leaving.
Manheim joined the show as Lieutenant Kate Dixon in the Season 21 premiere, The Right Thing, though she had portrayed smaller roles in seasons 1, 3, and 4. Dixon is currently the commanding officer of the Manhattan North Homicide Squad’s 27th Precinct.
Earlier, a statement was issued to Deadline on Manheim’s imminent departure.
“I thank Camryn for her three wonderful seasons helping us relaunch Law & Order. She is a class act and I wish her nothing but the best for her next chapter,” shared series creator Dick Wolf in a statement.

It's about time Elsbeth lived her Sex & The City realness in the next episode. A round of cosmopolitans for the girls!
Seriously, the drink is full of electrolytes and antioxidants.
In Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 9, the aptly named "police of the police" finds herself sipping more than the usual tea when an exclusive cocktail bar owner takes justice into his own hands.
By the looks of things, Elsbeth will be mixing business with pleasure when she clinks glasses with Joe, played by Arian Moayed, known for his role as Stewy Hosseini in Succession.
With only this and one more episode to close out the show's first season, audiences are likely to see equal parts of the weekly murders and the ongoing case of Wagner's false accusation of corruption.

In the "Star Trek" episode "The Naked Time", the Enterprise arrives at the crumbling planet Psi 2000 to retrieve the scientists working at a research laboratory located there. The Enterprise crew members find everyone has already died, their bodies laid out in bizarre, unexpected ways, all of them frozen by a malfunctioning environmental control unit. The room is frozen and the away mission wears full-body protective gear. While alone, Lieutenant Joe Tormolen (Stewart Moss) has an itch and removes a protective glove. In the "Star Trek" episode "The Deadly Years", an away team beams down to the planet Gamma Hydra IV to investigate a seemingly disused research station. They find several people who have died of old age and a 60-something couple who claim to be in their 20s. The away team returns to the Enterprise, not knowing they have contracted a kind of radiation sickness that causes accelerated aging. Kirk (William Shatner) begins going gray, while Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) and Scotty (James Doohan) quickly develop wrinkled, craggy faces. Hit hardest is Lieutenant Galway (Beverly Washburn), a science officer not previously seen on the show. She ages the most rapidly, moving from her early 20s to her late 90s in a day. Before the end of the episode, Galway will have died of old age.
Washburn was interviewed by StarTrek.com back in 2013, and she remembered shooting "The Deadly Years" quite well.

In the original "Star Trek," only three actors were credited at the start of the show: William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest Kelley. For many watching the series -- and for the actors especially -- those three were the leads, while the rest of the recurring ensemble were mere supporting players. Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley certainly had the most screen time on "Star Trek," yet they often advocated for more. Eventually, Shatner and Nimoy became such whiny spotlight hogs that show creator Gene Roddenberry had to write an angry letter, demanding the actors stop whining and get back to work.
Trekkies, however, knew better than Shatner and Nimoy. "Star Trek" was always an ensemble piece about a core cast of multiple characters. In addition to the three "leads," the show also regularly featured chief engineer Scott/Scotty (James Doohan), communications officer Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), Ensign Chekov (Walter Koenig), Yeoman Rand...

To be honest, the movie, Gadera, directed by Yogesh Vats, kind of felt like I was watching a school play where the characters tried too hard to be taken seriously with their dyed hair and costumes. The only good thing about the movie was the stunning landscape of the Himalayas and the Uttarakhand jungles. Although I’m not entirely sure if those scenes were taken off the internet or not. Anyway, the story is set in 1913, during the time when the British ruled over India. In the Uttarakhand region, which was divided into Garhwal and Kumaon, the villagers were basically puppets under the control of British officials. Then, they find this cursed gold coin, which leads them on this expedition into the forests, where all the officers are just greedy for finding treasure. But they forget that the real treasure is the forest itself. Cutting it down would have serious consequences for these people because,...

Chicago Fire will look different when it opens Season 13 this fall. Several cast members are leaving the show, and things appear to be in for a shakeup at the station. Eamonn Walker (Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden) is leaving the show as a full-time cast member. Now, another beloved character might also exit the series.
Here is who else might be leaving and what might be next for Chicago Fire.
Chicago Fire Losing Beloved Veteran Firefighter?
One of the original Chicago Fire firefighters has been missing for a few episodes now and many fans are asking if he is leaving the show. CBS has been “freshening” up its lineup by canceling some fan-favorite shows and replacing them with new versions, hoping fans will happily switch to the new shows. CBS canceled Blue Bloods to add more to the Fire Country franchise. It is also canceling NCIS: Hawai’i and replacing it with NCIS: Origins. Now, they are replacing CSI: Vegas as well.
Here is a look at what is coming next for the CSI franchise.
CBS Bringing New CSI Series To Summer Season
CBS announced several shows that they canceled and some were not only fan favorites but were also successful in the ratings. Things started out exciting when CBS brought back CSI: Vegas because it saw Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) return. However, they only lasted one season and the new cast had to carry the series.
After three seasons and 39 episodes, the ratings continued to be strong.

It looks like Elsbeth and the NYPD will be patrolling for some paws in Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 8, "Artificial Genius." Although, considering the title of the episode and the nature of the promo, it's hard to see the connection between a missing dog and artificial intelligence.
