Not feeling conflicted enough today? Martin Scorsese is making and hosting a show on Fox News Channel’s streaming service Fox Nation.
The series is an eight-part docudrama slated for November 2024. May we present: “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints.”
Each hour-long episode will explore “the remarkable stories of eight men and women who risked everything to embody humanity’s most noble and complex trait — faith,” in Fox Nation’s words. Them’s the saints.
“Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints” was developed by Scorsese for Lionsgate Alternative Television. It was created by Matti Leshem. The docuseries is written by the frequent Scorsese collaborator Kent Jones; it will be directed by Elizabeth Chomko.
Scorsese and Leshem executive produce, as do Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, Christopher Donnelly, Yoshi Stone, Craig Piligian, David Ellender, and Matt Loze. In addition to Lionsgate, the series was produced by Sikelia Productions, Weimaraner Republic Pictures, Lbi Entertainment, and Halcyon Studios.

Fox News executive John Finley, fired last week after more than two decades with the network, was pushed out after a woman alleged she was sexually harassed and stalked, according to a Friday report by Mediaite citing sources it did not name.
The network said Finley was fired for violating company standards, but did not clarify what those standards were. “Fox News Media and John Finley have parted ways after an independent investigation concluded that he had violated certain standards of business conduct,” a Fox News spokesperson told TheWrap.
A recent investigation conducted by an outside law firm resulted in Finley being placed on leave from his role as executive vice president of development. He was subsequently fired.
Mediaite reports that a woman who was not an employee of Fox but has worked on projects for Fox Nation, which was helmed by Finley, had reached an undisclosed settlement with the network.

Kevin Costner has taken over hallowed space at Fox Corporation.
The exterior walls of the company’s New York headquarters have long been adorned with giant billboards touting content at Fox News Channel. Passers-by over the years might find it hard to ignore giant posters of Sean Hannity or Megyn Kelly. In more recent times, pedestrians might have sauntered by billboards talking about a Fox News Christmas tree lighting or the cable outlet’s coverage of the 2022 midterm elections.
Now, much of that area has been ceded to the actor best known for his roles in movies like “Dances With Wolves,” “The Untouchables” and “Bull Durham.” Costner is also the host of a new four-part mini series, “Yellowstone: One-Fifty,” that celebrates Yellowstone National Park, and is available on Fox Nation, the streaming-video service that is also part of the company’s Fox News empire.

Disney and NBCUniversal have their theme parks, of course, and others like Netflix have created their own live activations (Stranger Things, The Bridgerton Ball, etc). Still others have taken it a step further by trying out their own fan conventions, hoping super-fans will pony up for access to talent, merchandise and other offers. Consider WarnerMedia’s DC Fandome, or Bravo’s BravoCon.
Can a cable news channel make it work too? Fox News thinks so.
In 2019, Fox News’ streaming service Fox Nation launched an awards show for regular people called The Patriot Awards, honoring people in categories like the Most Valuable Patriot Award, the Heroism Award, and the Service to Veterans Award.

Roseanne Barr is setting her TV comeback with a stand-up comedy special — her first in 16 years — for Fox Nation, the network announced. The comedian was infamously ousted from the reboot of Roseanne back in 2018, after a racist tweet went viral. The show proceeded on with a new name, The Conners, and without Barr. She has not been featured on TV since so A Roseanne Comedy Special will mark her return to the small screen as well as a return to stand-up specials. While there is no official release date set, the special is set to air in early 2023 on Fox Nation, the network’s new streaming platform. Fox Nation president Jason Klarman made the announcement, stating, “Roseanne is a comedy icon whose humor connects with the American audience like no other. Roseanne Barr will produce and perform in a new comedy special for Fox Nation, Fox News Media’s subscription streaming service.
A Roseanne Comedy Special will be released on Fox Nation in the first quarter of 2023. It will be her first stand up special in 16 years. Fox Nation says that the special “will feature Ms. Barr’s signature comedic take on a variety of topics, with no subject off limits.”
In 2018, Barr’s revival of her ABC series Roseanne was canceled after she posted a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, who was senior adviser to President Barack Obama. She apologized, but the network dropped the show, even as it had been a ratings success. The series was later revived without her as The Conners.
