The Beatles‘ “Let It Be” is one of the most beloved hit songs of the 1970s. Florida Georgia Line have every reason to try to mimic the song. One of Florida Georgia Line’s biggest hits has a chord progression that sounds like that of “Let It Be.” Interestingly, a member of Florida Georgia Line said the band’s fans had a strong response to the song in question.
A Florida Georgia Line song has a structure like The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ and other hits
Florida Georgia Line became famous for “bro country” songs like “Cruise” and “This Is How We Roll” that focus on sexy ladies, partying, beer, and trucks. Their love song “H.O.L.Y.” is a departure from that style. “H.O.L.Y.,” an acronym for “high on loving you,” is a ballad that blends spirituality with sensuality.
Rolling Stone reports that “H.O.L.Y.” uses a descending chord progression similar to The Beatles’ “Let It Be.

The Beatles “Let It Be” has been played so much that even Paul McCartney wishes he heard it less. John Lennon made similar comments decades earlier. Regardless of their feelings, the tune became popular for several good reasons.
Paul McCartney called The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ their most ‘ubiquitous’ song
During a 2020 interview posted on Paul’s YouTube channel, the singer was asked to name which of The Beatles songs he heard the most. “It’s the most ubiquitous,” he said. “It sort of got everywhere. Ubiquitous from the Latin, ubi quo, meaning ‘everywhere.’ Come on, give it up.”
Interestingly, Paul’s favorite Beatles song was “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number),” the B-side of “Let It Be.” “[It’s] a zany, zany little B-side that nobody knows, but we had so much fun making it,” Paul said. “But there’s a lot of songs that I love of The Beatles.

This article contains spoilers for Sister Death and Veronica.
You probably remember those hyperbolic headlines about 2017’s Veronica, the so-called scariest movie on Netflix, the horror film so frightening users turned it off midway through. Six years on, the internet has had plenty of time to reevaluate this Spanish-language chiller. Was it really that scary? This writer would say no, but art is subjective.
But even if it didn’t live up to all those internet headlines and tweets you read about it, director Paco Plaza’s possession film, which stars Sandra Escacena, is still a fun time, with a few genuinely unsettling moments throughout: the Ouija seance, the nightmare where Veronica’s siblings chomp down on her arms, the scene where Veronica chases the camera down a dark hallway, the demon itself. The movie, which is very loosely based on the unexplained death of a teen girl in 1991, is also dripping with style,...

At a time when breakthrough directors can only get incorporated into the studio system via micro-managed franchise blockbusters, it certainly pays to be friends with Jay-Z. The rap mogul is one of the lead producers on both films by Jeymes Samuel––the producer-turned-auteur who previously gave us the Netflix western The Harder They Fall––and his clout is, I assume, largely the reason a relatively untested filmmaker has been allowed to make big-budget, original projects in genres unfashionable among contemporary Hollywood. After a middling attempt to reinvigorate the Western, Samuel is setting his sights on the Biblical epic with The Book of Clarence, which has more than a few nods to Cecil B. DeMille but wants to make clear it is approaching this faith-based genre with an irreverence best described as “Life of Brian, but PG-13 friendly.”

Paul McCartney said The Beatles‘ “Let It Be” wasn’t inspired by religion. Despite this, he feels the lyrics of the song have a spiritual element to them. Notably, the lyrics of “Let It Be” could be seen as contradicting the Christian faith.
Paul McCartney said he’s fine with fans reading religion into The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’
In “Let It Be,” Paul sings about Mother Mary coming to him with a message. In some faith traditions, “Mother Mary” is another term for the Virgin Mary. While people may not know every word to The Beatles’ “Let It Be”, many know the opening line. “When I find myself in times of trouble/ Mother Mary comes to me.” However, “Mother Mary” was almost a different name, as Paul McCartney was deciding between multiple options for “Let It Be”.

“Let It Be” is one of The Beatles’ biggest hits and one of the best songs Paul McCartney wrote for the band. Many know its opening line, but there might be more to the story behind the lyric referring to “Mother Mary”. Mal Evans, one of the band’s personal assistants, shared a story about the song while on a 1975 TV special hosted by David Frost.

Nadya Tolokonnikova, the most visible member of the artist-activist collective Pussy Riot, is now on Russia’s most wanted criminals list. The Associated Press reports that earlier today a Russian news outlet, Mediazona, found Tolokonnikova’s name on the Russian Interior Ministry’s database, which claimed Tolokonnikova faced criminal charges without specifying what those charges are.
“Oopsie, I was just added to Russia’s federal wanted list,” Tolokonnikova wrote on Instagram next to a photo of herself flipping the bird. Tolokonnikova believes the charges relate to her art.

Any good movie about a pop star needs some actual business experts on its crew. Good thing David Lowery has enlisted Charli Xcx and Jack Antonoff to write and produce the original soundtrack to Mother Mary, the filmmaker’s upcoming A24 feature.
Mother Mary will star Anne Hathaway and I May Destroy You wiz Michaela Coel as a fictional musician and fashion designer, respectively. A press release describes it as an “epic pop melodrama” that follows the “relationship” between the pair. Will that relationship be platonic? Business? Romantic? All three? Who knows?
This is neither Antonoff nor Charli’s first rodeo when it comes to film soundtracks: Antonoff has produced a handful of tracks specifically for movies over the last decade, notably last year’s star-studded Minions: The Rise of Gru Ost. Charli, meanwhile, did the original single “Hot Girl” for the slasher comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies, also an A24 flick.

The verdict seems clear: Mel Brooks continues to thrive as the auteur of disorder. Further, his blasphemies on Hulu this week serve as a welcome distraction from the numbing debates that usually dominate Oscar Week.
Twenty years ago, insiders assured us that The Producers would never work because Broadway disdains sketch comedy. Later, skeptics said Brooks’ career would not survive streaming because his hit-and-miss routines need the shared guffaws of a movie theater.

You oughta know that baby Jesus’s birthday is on the way! On Friday, Alanis Morissette released a sweet rendition of the Christmas classic “Little Drummer Boy.”
The track opens with a gentle twinkling sound before Morissette’s powerful vocals begin over the song’s classic melody. The track’s silly cover art would’ve placed Morissette at a seemingly tropical nativity scene alongside baby Jesus and Mother Mary. (10/10 photoshopping skills.)
